...uh, what even is this?
I believe I should explain what I'm doing. Well... I'm not really sure what I'm doing, but I guess I can try to make heads or tails of this situation by writing about it and myself.

My name is Lockclaws. I am a member of a team called 'The Reapers'. I'm not sure why I am a member. I'm not exactly strong, or mature, or fast, or... anything of value, really. Appearance doesn't help when it comes to fights. Oh! That's right! I haven't shown you what I look like yet, have I, diary? Hmm... diary...

... argh, that doesn't sound right. It's not... me. Then... what should I call you? Something that suits my life.
How about... Blood? Scythe? Spike...? No... too violent.
Dear... Hellhound?
Ah! That makes sense. After all, it pretty much sums up my life in one word. Or is it two words? Anyway, onto how I look.


This, my lovely book friend, is me. I am a Reaper. I am about to join school, and boy, am I dreading it. From reading other dogs' diaries (No! Don't kill me!), school seems pretty intimidating. Especially high school. I don't want to get involved in any drama or wishy-washy lovey-dovey rubbish.

Dear Hellhound,

This is the second time I'm writing in you. And it's not that long after I first wrote, but who cares. I forgot to introduce you to my large, yet closely-knit family.


My father, Feral. He's quite sarcastic and enjoys a good joke, though his sense of humour is dark.


My mother's name is Rose. Rose is serene and enjoys my company more than Feral does.


My brother, Steam. He's a quirky one, and quite inappropriate. He makes jokes at the worst times.


Grandfather Sun. He's very kind and still as active as he was seven years ago.


Grandmother Moon. She's an intelligent woman and loves to read.

Well, that's all my family. You may meet them soon; who knows? This is Lockclaws, signing off.

Dear Hellhound,
It's finally time for you to meet my family! They're kindly folk. Don't be worried.



Steam: "Hey, sis! I took your laptop again... and... I sort of broke it."
Me: "What?! Again?! Seriously, Steam, I'm not made of money, you know."
Steam: "Yeah, yeah, I know you aren't... but I know two people who are..."
Me: "What do you--"
Steam: "MUM! DAD! LOCKCLAWS BROKE HER LAPTOP!"
Me: "Gah!"

I cover his mouth with one paw as I hear pawsteps on the stairs outside my room. He grins mischievously. My door opens and my mother pokes her head around the door.


Rose: "Steam..."
My brother tilts his head innocently.
Steam: "Yes, mother dear?"
She sighs and hands me her wallet.
Rose: "Nothing fancy, deary, we're low on money as it is what with that fancy school you're going to tomorrow~"
Me: "Sure, mum-- h-hey, wait! Tomorrow? I'm supposed to be going to the school next week!"
Rose: "Ah... it appears there must have been a misunderstanding. I meant tomorrow, not next week. Now go and get a laptop before I change my mind and take that money back!"
Me: "Okay, mum.."

Well, Hellhound, as you can see, my family aren't exactly orthodox. Now goodbye! I've got to get to the laptop shop!

Dear Hellhound,

Well, it seems school's finally here. And... I'm all alone too. I guess there's not much I can do about that, though. It's almost time for me to leave, and I haven't even gotten my things ready. I'm not even at school yet and I'm already worrying! This can't be good... I've heard that there's this group of girls joining at the same time as me. Apparently, they're the sort of girl that could scare away a demon with a single swish of their long, glossy hair and a wink of a mascara-covered eye. And don't get me started on their silly jock 'boyfriends' that they'll be leaving come tomorrow! I'm just so, so worried... what if nobody likes me? What if they find you? Argh! I need help...



Rose: "Lock, sweetie?"
Me: "Yes, mum...?" I already know what this is about...
Rose: "Well, school starts in ten minutes. Come downstairs and get your stuff ready."
Me: "Okay, mum, I'll be right down."

I walk downstairs, not in any big hurry. My tail swishes behind me as my every step sends a creak echoing throughout the house. I slink into the kitchen, my head low, and pick up my book and pencil case in my mouth, placing them into my bag.

Rose: "Right, now go and get your school uniform on. And don't forget to comb out your hair! Don't want you getting into trouble with the teachers, now do we?"


This is how I look with my hair straight. My parents think I look cute. I think I look like a mouse. Oh, well. Opinions are opinions, after all. But I guess it's time to get going! Don't want to be late on the first day of school...

I exit through the front door, calling a goodbye to my parents as I leave. Almost immediately, I'm confronted by a wolf. She's just standing there, staring at me... it's kind of weird.



Me: "Uh, hello there... What's your name...?"
???: "...oh! Are you talking to me? Hello! My name is Warpaint. I'm joining your school today! I'm a wolf, like you! Or... are you a dog? It's so hard to tell nowadays, honestly, I saw this sheep this morning and I called her a goat and she got real mad at me. Called me insolent! I'm not really sure what that means, I'm not good with big words, but it's probably a compliment. Has anybody ever complimented you? It's nice, you know. Well, probably. It's never happened to--"
Me: "STOP!"
Warpaint: "...me?"
Me: "Firstly, are you a girl or a boy? Secondly, did you just make that entire monologue without breathing? Thirdly, why were you outside my front door, waiting for me?"
Warpaint: "Boy. Yes. Because I have no friends."
Me: "Right. I can see why."
Warpaint: "Well..."
Me: "What is it?"
Warpaint: "Please walk to school with me? Pretty please? Pretty please with sprinkles on top?"
Me: "Argh... fine..."

Well, looks like I was talked into walking to school with a hyperactive boy with no friends. Joy.
