prologue

he yelled as I ran all I heard was "hurry." I ran threw the mud as I felt my legs give in on me. I had to stop- I couldn't be out here forever. The rain soaked me and I ran to shelter- a large wooden chicken coop thing. I wished he would of stopped for me. I cried silently and hoped they wouldn't of heard me because they would grab me and take me back their. I heard footsteps in the mud and I winced and bit my lip in fear of getting grabbed. I risked my life just so he could go and I would be stuck here. If this risked my reality of escaping VILE I would do anything- but he got out and luckily they aren't after me- hopefully. I huffed out of breath as I gripped onto my soaking wet coat. The thunder struck and lighting roared in the sky. Was I gonna make it- this choice was up to me to run or stay. Today I was free.

E L L I E looked at the date- May 23, 4029. I sighed as I looked out the window- pictures of President Angela all over with horns coming out of her head or something like that.

Ellie hated this and had to get out of here- VILE would be here any time now and she would be gone. She grabbed her bag and her coat and opened her window gently sliding out and closing it again. Like any other person Ellie had to get to the city of sky's and escape the madness of today. She fell and yelped out a bit after hearing shouts and gun shots - knowing VILE was near and she had to go. Ellie got up in pain and made a run for it- limping after falling on her leg.

After she got out to the main streets of town she had to get out to Noah and Eli's house. Ellie coughed out as the dust and air of today always made her. She put her mask on and made a run for it down the street hearing poor helpless people yelling and screaming in pain for help. She looked at one rotten person and had wide eyes and felt sick. She kept going and reached their house. Dirty and ugly house.

Ellie opened the door and locked it carefully hoping nothing heard her. She walked up the stairs and saw the two talking. "Let's go." Ellie exclaimed and than the two rose up on guard. "It's me Ellie!" Ellie said taking her mask off, and they nod slightly and began to grab their stuff, today we were going into reality,

We walked out their backdoor as VILE trucks and vans could be heard down the road- came for them? Me. Ellie ran with them threw the fence gap- down the hill, threw the bushes. She huffed slightly and held the bag and her coat. "Now or never." Noah spoke to the two of them.

"let's do it!" Ellie said, and slid down the hill side.

Ellie sighed as she walked behind them looking around- they were on the old abandoned high ways of the city called Los Angeles and they had to get to Toronto, Canada, supposedly. Ellie kept walking as she heard the two talking about the food levels. She looked down and began to kick dirt, but stopped after she hard birds and she smiled. So many miles starting their journey- today it started.


Ellie groaned as the darkness surrounded them and hand no idea where they were going. "I have my map lets just pull it out!" Ellie said, but Eli said no. Ellie shook her head and took a seat beside Noah as he had his face in his hands. "Noah and I need rest." Ellie spoke clearly with madness in it- Eli was stubborn as ever. He growled before setting his bag down and laying on it. Another day to reality restored.

"Whatever." He said, and closed his eyes,

"thanks."
