For us, it reads in our minds as pure insanity. And zhe chooses to do nothing about it, even though it's hard to live with. [[ What's one of the things that they don't want fixed? ]] :: "Ever heard of synesthesia? Well, zhe has it. Synesthesia means that each word, each scent, each sound has colors. Though many find that quite odd, it's actually very fun for zher. Zhe could never imagine not seeing colors in everything, as zhe had it from birth. It also accompanies the fact that zhe sees 'auras' clinging to others. Zher own is a dull, dirty yellow-ish green. Cardinal's is a very dark red. Oriole's is a bright yellow. Okay, there was one thing I haven't quite explained yet.....zher schizophrenia. These three don't exist to anyone but zher. They're voices in zher head, driving zher to near insanity in the process. Zhe can see them, feel their auras, detect the colors of their distinct voices. No one knows about them, but Percy zherself. And zhe doesn't intend on letting others know. They'll know zhe's insane, they'll know how dangerous and unpredictable zhe can be. Who knows what would they would do to zher. Asylum, psychiatrist, any possible option would be devastating to zher sanity more than zher hallucination friends already can be."

"Oriole, zher best friend and most common sight to zher. Oriole has been with Percy for 15 full years, been right by zher side since zhe was two years old. Having no gender, Oriole is sometimes to has Ori or Orio to avoid the confusion that would be caused by using neutral pronouns or referred to with female pronouns. Orio is a microkia, with wings, feathers, and patterns reminiscent of the bird known as the Oriole. In zher subconcious, Ori gives helpful guidance, company, someone to vent to after a stressful day, and even calms zher down simply by being there. And she even has a distinct personality ; somewhat serious, level-headed, talkative, and the master of sarcasm."

"Jay, also a winged kia and has patterns resembling who he was named for, is a PPS child. Timid, skittish, and overly shy, he rarely appears [only once or twice a year, always at Christmas though] and usually doesn't talk all that much. He's been with Percy for 13 years, only two years less time than Oriole. The only time he'll appear is to lend a hand in a stressful situation because of his excellent memory. But sometimes he just worries Percy more because of his constant anxiety. Though, that same anxiety can also comfort zherself while zhe tries to comfort little Jay!"

"The final winged kiamara delusion zhe gets is a male PPS teen, known notoriously as Cardinal. The annoying featherbutt himself is not only rude, but arrogant, snarky, naughty, and very manipulative. He always incites arguments between him and Percy, and is almost always the reason that zhe gets fired all the time. To boot, he also annoys the fur of Percy by the one thing that annoys zher more than anything ; being called Perce. Yes, that's the not-so-affectionate nickname given by Cardinal I've talked about. Like I said, sounds like a woman's handbag, and zhe hates that to no end! Though he doesn't show up nearly as often as Oriole, he's a whole lot more commonly seen than Jay. He shows up at least twice a month, usually more often than that. It happens most frequently about a week or two after Percy gets hired for a part-time job somewhere!"

[[ Can you possibly give me a more in-depth look into zher personality? ]] :: "Sure, I guess. On the outside, the best way to describe zher is cold and somewhat heartless. Zher face shows little expression at most times. Zhe stays silent a lot too, as zhe hates talking publicly. In fact, zhe hates others generally and is extremely antisocial. No offense, zhe just hates social attention and company by zher side. Well, other than Oriole and them. But I don't know if they count. If you force any socialization on zher, zhe will make every attempt to excuse zherself from it."

"Though zhe usually seems calm, do not drop your guard. Ahem, zhe's bipolar. You can expect a whirlwind of different moods from zher. Even worse, zhe is well known as a foul-mouth. If zhe starts ranting about something, slowly walk away or face 'those' words. Maybe it's zher high intelligence that leads to a very expansive vocabulary. Or maybe that language comes from a street-wise nature that involves some witty language as well. Either way, beware of what ends up coming out of zher usually closed mouth every now and then. And beware that zhe has no mercy and no fear of killing for zher own sanity's sake."

"But, despite all of that, you may be able to see some of his deeply withdrawn traits if you either manage to become close to zher or you spy on zher for weeks on end like I did [with the risk of 'close call encounters' of course]. In reality, this somewhat insane and moody kiamara is a troubled, stressed kind of person. Mostly, the worry involves what happens when zhe appears too insane for zher own good. Who knows what the split second decision might be. Zhe basically has an irrational phobia of what might happen to zherself in that scenario. Then there's the stress of low money, bouncing from job to job, and all the crowds of the city...sometimes all at once. And despite an untrustworthy streak, zhe has the strength and the wits to be a valuable ally if you are as insane as zherself and if you get caught at nearly the same time for being a dangerous psychopath."

[[ Why do zher eyes stay closed? ]] :: "What a...unique question! It has an equally unique answer. Percy keeps zher eyes closed because zhe hates making direct eye contact. Most aren't bothered by someone looking them in the eye and actually encourage it. But the thought of someone staring inside zhem, seeing the things that zhe thinks, is very unsettling to zhem. Especially, if they end up catching zhem glancing at nothing. If that happens, zhe'd have to explain everything to zhem and no one would ever understand it. They'd think zhe was insane, a star-craving lunatic, and/or a nut-job. And you probably know what happens next in that story, since I kind of already told you about that. Despite how it annoys some others to no end, zhe does it anyways. Zhe's just a lot more confident like that."

"Though zhe's fine having zher eyes open when no one's around, it has become a habit to keep them closed. Zhe can easily hear the voices of Oriole and Cardinal, sense their auras. The only zher eyes are really opened is when zhe's in motion and must see where zhe's going. Even then, zhe either wears their tinted flight goggles or keeps zher head down with zher black hair covering most of zher eyes."

There's asthenophobia [fear of fainting/weakness ; shows itself if something like that happens, zhe's feeling light-headed, or when something involves tranquilizers/sedatives/etc. ; one of the two worst fears], claustrophobia [small spaces ; also kicks in when restrained to where zhe can't move], glossophobia [fear of public speaking ; becomes shaky and blushes a bit when forced], kynophobia [research, figure this out yourself ; it makes sense], aichmophobia [fear of needles ; one of the two worst fears], necrophobia [fear of death ; only involves zherself ], ochlophobia [fear of crowds], and opthalmophobia [fear of being stared at]. Yes, that's a lot, but they're all valid phobias!"

[[ How did zhe end up who zhe was today? [It's a very long story, but I have a copy of a small-ish autobiography that zhe wrote. Let's read it together, shall we?] ]] :: "I was born extremely late one gloomy night, thirteenth day of October. By extremely late, I mean 11:59 p.m. late. I was born several weeks too early, premature but still alive and fighting for life. Though everyone doubted my survival, I was a healthy child [as far as I'm concerned]. But they still worried that I wouldn't make it another week in this world alive. My birthdate also sprung some really ridiculous beliefs. Almost the witching hour, on the unluckiest day of the year. [yes, it kind of was Friday the 13th.] It was a night of vicious monsoons and thunderstorms, the moon completely invisible the entire night. And the moment my eyes opened for the very first time, they knew something was wrong with me. My eyes were completely devoid of all color ; black sclera, black iris, black pupil, black everything. I was frowned upon by many. Some gasped curse at just a single glance, other superstitious dumbbells screeched that I was to bring doom to their heads. Why someone would think that, is beyond my knowledge. I don't want to know that either. So, I never quite understood how I could 'bring doom' to anyone, let alone their heads. I was just a newborn who wasn't even able to walk or talk yet at that time!"

"I was different than most children my age, a very withdrawn one so to speak. Though withdrawn, my parents had barely, just barely enough patience to care for my special needs. Not because of the special need of a low-light house [because of my black eyes], but rather because I was prone to some very wild mood swings even at my very young age. Some days I was very fussy, others I was perfectly content. Sometimes I tolerated annoyances, yet other times I threw some pretty nasty temper tantrums. I didn't know why I was like that, I guess I was just born like that. I wasn't sick like they thought I was. Even my eyes were just a mutation. But they worried about me for a long, long time. They worried about how infrequently I opened my eyes and how I never ever actually cried. No matter how much I said 'I'm fine', it continued to snowball from there on."

"To put it bluntly, I really hate other kiamaras. No offense intended, I just hate the company of living creatures of the same intelligence [or slightly lesser in the case of most]. I was forced to go to preschool, kindergarten, and even public school despite all my efforts to sway them in other directions. So, I kept to myself, rejecting and avoiding even the sweetest gestures toward friendship. Friendship. Friendship is a somewhat foreign concept to me. As a result, I have no friends. But that never really bothered me. I even hate direct eye contact. To me, it's as if somone can stare inside you, reading the most private of thoughts. That's the reason my eyes stayed closed from the very first day of school onward, to avoid such a terrible thing from happening. Even without seeing my 'cursed' black eyes, many of the kids either ignored me, avoided me like the plague, or they pushed me around like the bullies they are. Why couldn't I have been homeschooled?"

"There was something else that really gets on my nerves, gets under my skin. For whatever reason, everyone is extremely unaccepting of the way I view the world. As a lonely, stressed, troubled kiamara, there was a few little things that kind of comforted me when I was at my most insecure times. To me, the world is filled with many beautiful colors to both my real eyes and my 'mind's eye'. Words, sounds, all of them were different colors. Like my name, which is coincidentally a vivid blue-ish green. I could also detect textures on the words, whether smooth, ridged, bumpy, or as soft as my own fur. Another thing I could sense is our auras. They cling to us tightly wherever we go, representing who we are on the outside. A good example would be my parents ; my momma's aura is a pale pastel yellow, while my pappa's is a dark, rich blue. Even more colors sometimes dance in the corners of my vision, usually when I'm fatigued, dizzy to the point of being light-headed, or very stressed. Yet, no one but me sees these things. Am I only seeing things? No, I can't be!"

"One gloomy day when I was only a toddler, as gloomy as when I was born, I met her. The most beautiful microkia I had ever seen. Her lusturous orange and black fur combined with sturdy black wings were reminiscent of an oriole like the ones that I always fed at the park. I guess that explained her name to, which was Oriole. Her silky voice, her mellow demeanor, it just drew me to her like a magnet. At that moment, the sole purpose of her life was to be my best friend forever. And I agreed whole-heartedly."

"We went everywhere together, and did everything together too. She guides me to the most logical decisions, cheers me up on my more 'down' days. Along with a painfully shy companion named Jay, life definately looked up for a while there. Sometimes, I made decisions tailored to them. I kind of owe it to them for helping me climb the grades in the gifted student classes and cheering me on all the time. But one day, Mommy told me to stop talking to Oriole and Jay. She told me that they were a silly thing to talk to, that they were just a figment of my 'overactive imagination'. That they had too much influence on me and my own life. That I really should start emerging into the real world. As if my grades weren't already enough to prove that I cared about a real life. When my daddy started tag-teaming with Mommy though, my fuse ran out in a snap and so did my temper."

"Curse and swear words galore flew right out of my mouth, my words battering at them like machete blades. Oriole echoed my every word in a hope that we could win a fight that they inadvertently started with us. For whatever reason, however, they could only hear me. It was as if Oriole was mute, which she certainly wasn't. We talked all the time! They looked right at her, but didn't see the little microkia herself either. Jay butted into the argument too, to my surprise. He's usually so shy! But they couldn't hear him, nor could they see him as well. I continued on insisting that she was real, that she was my very best friend in the entire world. Then, they decided on what they thought would be best for me ; they were going to take me to the head psychiatrist of a juvenile asylum."

"I didn't want to go to an asylum! I wasn't sick! All I knew was that all the psychiatrists decked out in white coats and hidden armor would forcefully jab me with those horrible needles, shove gross pills down my throat that would make pretty much anyone sick to their stomach, and try their absolute hardest to kill the friends I've had for so many long years. I don't want them to die on me. After a long struggle, they wrestled me into the care and drove me to the asylum. Little did they know that during the painfully long drive I had kept my window open...and that I had used their pocket knife to cut through most of my seatbelt through over an hour of sawing at it. It only held together by a very thin thread's worth. The moment the car stopped, I cut the rest of my seatbelt loose, jumped frantically out of the window, and ran far, far away with no plans of ever returning."

"Whether fortunately or unfortunately, a nice family took me in for awhile. They were a retired, elderly couple who were kind enough to let me stay until I was old enough to get hired for a job and be able to care for myself. Though they were nice, I gladly took my opportunity to leave their care when I had the chance. Besides, they'd notice my friends at some point. I certainly didn't want to go through that ordeal ever again. A year or two later, I met Cardinal. He's such an annoying featherbutt. Half the time I'd really like to strangle him violently so I never have to see him again. But, I guess I should be somewhat thankful that he saved my long fluffy tail for a close call before. Who knows how useful he might be again."

"I've been growing very worried lately. My 'bipolar' mood-swings seem to be getting much, much worse ; the dancing colors are happening more frequently too. I fear that I'm slowly going completely insane. And I fear that someone will send me asylum-bound sooner than later."

[[ Where does zhe work and is zhe satisfied about it? ]] :: "Zhe currently works at the market as a bagger. And no, that's not what zhe wants to be for the rest of zher life. It was a hasty "I need a job to put food on the table" moment that made zher end up there. Zhe can't seem to keep any job for more than a week without being fired for something. Usually one of his mood swings, but occasionally for some other reason. If zhe had a choice, this would not be where zhe worked for the sake of zher sanity [or insanity, either way works]. This kind of busy job really takes a toll on zher well-being. But at the very least, zhe doesn't starve."

[[ Then what would be zher dream career? ]] :: "Actually, zhe has always wanted to be a pilot. Ever since zhe was a little pup, zhe was obsessed with anything involving flight. Zhe was gladder than glad that the one thing that zher parents splurged on was a bunk bed. Even better, zhe was on the top floor with a window view. Along the shelf that bordered the top bunk, a line of model airplanes stood. In fact, zhe still has that collection today. This career also explained how zhe could play with paper airplanes for hours on end trying to perfect its flight pattern and always wanted to enter that one annual kite flying contest. Maybe one day, zhe could finally get that flying license!"
