In the year 2567, the world fell into an economic depression far worse than the Great Depression of 1930. Many people were forced to evacuate their homes to live on the streets, while others fought for their lives daily. The rich became the poor, and the poor starved to the point of emaciation and death. The human way of life is dying, and the only way to save it is to create the perfect generation. The Government has selected one hundred kids, fifty boys and fifty girls to be placed in the facility. The Government have paired up each of the kids to create the most genetically perfect children, to therefore save the human population from dying out. There are strict rules with harsh punishments, and when one girl finds herself in the middle of three guys, those rules are bound to be broken.

A hushed silence fell over the table where the ten remaining Government leaders were discussing the future of humankind. There were eight men and two women, all of them the richest in the world at the moment, surrounded by body-guards in case one of the desperate people on the streets tried to attack. One man looked sadly out the window, where he could see two boys fighting over a single crust of bread. Food was scarce on the street, and if you found it you fought to the death for it. This madness needs to stop, the man thought to himself as the others discussed quietly with the person sitting next to them. He stood up and cleared his throat.

"It is obvious now, that this Depression will not end. It's been going on for months now, and everyone is just getting weaker and weaker. At this rate, humankind will die out, just like everything else has. I have a proposition to make, a possible way to save humankind. Hear me out, and speak your opinions after."

The other people at the meeting looked at him expectantly, and he decided that was his cue to continue.

"I propose we create a secret facility, somewhere that cannot be found easily. There we will select fifty boys and fifty girls, and get our best scientists to match each one up genetically perfectly so we can create the perfect generation. We will re-teach them everything they know about humankind, and try to teach them to not make the same mistakes as us. We can employ body-guards as well, therefore providing fresh food and water, a safe place to sleep and a job for some lucky men. I think this will benefit humankind, and save us once and for all. Who agrees?"

Straight away, only two men put their hands up and nodded their approval. The man speaking smiled and acknowledged their support with a nod. After a minute to think over it, a few more hands popped up. Eventually, everyone's hands were up, except for the two women at the table, who were frowning and discussing quietly their opinions. Finally they straightened up, and the older one shared their opinions.

"We do not think this facility will work. Humans have already evolved. What makes you think this will re-evolve them?"

"I am not certain if this will work or not," the man said. "But desperate times call for desperate measures. This is our final hope, and if we don't do something soon, even we will suffer from not taking it into our own hands."

The women seemed to look uncertain as they quietly discussed again. Finally they became quiet, and looked solemnly into the man's eyes.

"You're right, this is one of our last hopes. But if this doesn't work, you will no longer be a part of this Government, and will have to fight for survival on the streets like everyone else. Do you understand?"

The man gulped and began to feel sweaty with nerves. That was a very harsh punishment if this idea didn't work. Right then, on the spot, he had to make a decision to either secure his life, or attempt to save humankind. This decision would affect everyone if he chose the wrong one. For a good long minute he stood in silence, debating within himself to be either selfish or selfless. The women were just about to say something when he pushed the words out of his mouth.

"I understand."

A shocked silence filled the air, and the women began to chuckle.

"Well, let's get this show on the road," the older one said, looking at him as if he was fool.
