- Pawsteps echoed in the cramped space, water dripping off the small stalactites hanging from
the roof of the cave. A kiamara sat himself down in the damp area, soon sinking down to his
belly in hopes of being granted sleep. The red kia hadn't had a name for as long as he had
existed, yet he was given one recently. As he attempted to drift off, the kia's thoughts began
to wander. 'What is this name that has been given to me? Pangaea... I truly have no idea what
that word means.' Eventually, sleep overcame him.
The constant dripping of water awoke the newly dubbed 'Pangaea', and the red kiamara
opened his electric-yellow eyes lazily. With the same, faint frown on his muzzle, Pangaea
slowly got to his paws. Life on this island was good; there was plenty of food to go around,
and the animal inhabitants sometimes gathered for meals.
Lately tourists had been coming to the island to view one of it's natural beauties, Mount
Chimney. The Volcano was not active, and the island was safe from being flooded by hot
magma. Plus, Pangaea was the second star attraction, known as 'The Volcano Kiamara'.
There was been word spreading around that he was the only kiamara on the island, and
lived in a cave just in the side of the volcano too.
Making his way out of the cave, Pangaea began his trek down the side of the inactive
volcano. The path was rather rocky, but since he had made his was down it many times
before, Pangaea was not bothered. Yet, when he had reached the base of the nature-
made structure, the rustling of bushes caught his attention.
Pangaea turned slightly, fur standing on end as the figure revealed itself. He calmed
himself down, since it was only the human that had been meeting up with him lately.
The female tossed him a lop-sided smile, in which the red kia attempted to return,
but it only turned into what looked like a snarl.
"Hey Pangaea, how are you doing on this fine day?" the girl by the name of Xhat
questioned, tilting her head in curiosity.
"Good... but today has been boring so far." Pangaea yawned, shifting his gaze and
looking up to the sky. Xhat's features seemed to brighten up considerably, and her
smile only widened.
"Hey... I have a proposition. You don't want life to be boring anymore, correct?"
"...Yes?"
"Would you like to give living in the city a shot?"
"Well... It couldn't hurt to try."
