January 18
- Hello, journal! We’re gonna have a lot of fun this year, I just know it. You’re probably wondering how I got you, huh? It’s a new thing Mom’s trying with me and Ragan this year. Once a month, we’ll record our favorite event from that month in our journals. This month, I guess I’m just writing about how I got you. Oh yeah, we did have a New Year’s party though! It was super cool. There were lots of fireworks- which were very loud and kind of scary- but the colors! Oooooh, their colors were so pretty. Still loud, though. Oh yeah, and Ragan actually cheered up a little bit! Maybe he liked the fireworks too...but he seemed a little scared at the same time. We saw a bunch, but didn’t light any of our own. Mom still gave us sparklers, though. They’re almost as pretty as real fireworks! I wrote with mine. Well, actually I wrote in the sky. The light, I guess, burns letters into your vision. So you can see what you write or draw in the air! Cool, huh? Yeah….our party was awesome. And we did New Year’s resolutions too! Mine is to try to cheer up my brother, Iragan. He can be kind of grumpy sometimes. Mostly it’s just because he’s paranoid or confused…I kinda feel bad for him sometimes. I don’t know what his resolution was, but I hope it’s to cheer up too! Anyway, that’s what I did this month, journal. Ciao!
February 26
- Hello once again, my journal! Valentine's Day was almost two weeks ago. I gave Iragan a card. Silly boy didn't even remember it was Valentine's day...ha, he needs to get out more often! This month has been pretty much uneventful except for that. I spend a lot of time thinking of the perfect thing to say on that card, you know. Of course, I'd never tell Ragan that. I wanted it to be just perfect for him, though. Anyway, Mom gave us some chocolates for Valentine's that were really super delicious! If you weren't, you know, a book, I'd totally give you one. Actually, I'd probably have eaten all of them before I remembered to give anyone some. Oops. I did offer some to Ragan, though. He didn't want his, let alone mine....I hope he likes the card I gave him. I really do love him.
March 11
- March 5-6 was our birthday!! And oh. My. Gosh. IT WAS SO FUN!!! Oh, journal, if only you had eyes. I have a BUNCH of super-cute pictures!! I had like 6 friends over, and we all had an awesome cake- I think it was an ice cream cake- and I got a bunch of presents and we tie-dyed some shirts and we rented a waterslide and it was probably the best birthday ever. I mean....that was my birthday. Obviously. Ha. Iragan's was a lot quieter. We just stayed around the house. He read his mystery books...I got bored out of my mind....we did eat another cake, though....oh, back to my tie-dye shirt! We had to keep it all balled up for a couple of days but yesterday we took out the rubber bands and it was SO PRETTY! I put a bunch of red and pink and purple on mine with a few touches of black and blue here and there, and it is sooooooo gorgeous. I'm going to wear it as often as I can. It's a keepsake of my birthday, after all! Well, that and my presents....speaking of which, Mom and Dad got me a camera! Eeeek! That's where all my pictures came from. Anyway, journal, that's enough about my birthday- but it was super awesome! I can't wait til my next one!
May 13
- Hey, journal! A couple of days ago was Mothers' Day. Aunty Chastity told me and Ragan all about it. It's where we appreciate all Mom does for us, so we get her some presents and stuff! We went out shopping for her. Iragan picked out a nice card and I gave her a super cute mirror! She really liked them, from what I could tell. And I know Aunty Chastity was proud of us. I wanted to bake a cake but Aunty Chastity said no, we'd get the kitchen all messy and then she'd have to clean up. I guess she does kind of have a point. I don't exactly know how to make a cake...but I bet I could figure it out! Still, better safe than sorry, as Mom says. It was so much fun giving her the presents, though. I think she'll always remember our gifts to her. I've seen them, too- she has the mirror and card up on her nightstand!

June 27
- Whoa....journal. Whoa. Me and Iragan had a CRAZY time this month. Wanna guess why? No, never mind, you can't guess. I'll tell you. We tried to SWITCH PERSONALITIES! OMG, it was SO boring just sitting around all day. Iragan even tried to make me read. Like, not just good books, but his boring old mystery books. Ew. And I had to totally act all gloomy and quiet and afraid and....wow. That was, like, me being the total opposite of me. But it was totally worth it to see Iragan going around trying to act all happy. Ha-ha!! It was priceless, journal, let me tell you. That big giant fake smile on his face and his constant "blah blah blah" since he doesn't pay attention to what I actually say....man, this was a really fun month. We should really try this again once we're older. I bet we're both going to change a lot. Thankfully, I'll remember what Iragan used to be like now. Ciao!
July 10
- Did you know that the Fourth of July is a holiday, journal? Iragan and I didn't! It was like New Years' all over again, but in the summer this time. The fireworks seemed even bigger and louder. And we had a barbecue cookout on the grill and then we roasted s'mores...I think I rather like celebrating the Fourth of July! Ha-ha. And Dad explained the whole history behind it. How the Fourth of July is really called Independence Day, and it's the day America won freedom from Britain. I think that's pretty cool, don't you? Of course now he's got me hooked on the whole Revolutionary War thing. I'll have to check out some books on it. Doesn't that sound weird? But it's true! I think history is my favorite subject. It's awesome. Plus...there might be more s'mores involved! Well, ha-ha, not really. It would be cool, though. Anyway, we had an awesome Fourth of July! Well, I did. I think the fireworks might have been a bit too loud for Ragan...he's fine now, though. So, goodnight then!
August 24
- Woohoo! Hey, journal, yesterday our whole family went to the beach! It was way awesome. We bought boogie boards just for the occasion, so me and Iragan could go out and ride the waves. It was so much fun! I invented a new thing, I think, and it's called a sand fort, and it is what it sounds like, you just get a bunch of sand and pile it all into one giant tower. Working on it on and off, mine was almost as tall as I was! I learned a lot of things about sand forts. First, you have to put them close to the water to keep them moist and sturdy, but not too close or else they'll be knocked over with every single wave. Second the base has to made of dry sand. A wet sand base just falls apart. It also needs to be made mostly of semi-dry sand, with wet to seal the cracks, and a heavily diluted water-sand mixture called silt to smooth out the sides. I've spent a lot of time talkin about sand forts...anyway...we also all went out and played in the water, and I made up a new game that everyone, even Ragan, liked. You just lay in the shallows and let the water drift you as it pleases. Relaxing, huh? We had a lot of fun yesterday. I'm so glad we went to the beach.
September
- This month was Father's Day! Like Aunty Chastity told us about Mother's Day, Uncle Finnley said we should do something for Dad. So we spent the day with him. I think it made him quite happy to have us around, even if he didn't say it in words, so of course we were happy too. We mostly just chilled out, although we didn't talk much. That was surprising. Even I was quiet today! I wonder if it had something to do with Dad. He always has a certain....calming....influence on me. I don't have much to write about, journal, because we didn't exactly do much...but it made Dad happy. So I'm pleased with the result. Yeah, that's it. Ciao!
November 1
- Oopsie, journal! Looks like I'm going to have 2 in November, since Halloween is on the last day of October. Oh well. Anyway, last night was a BLAST! I got SO MUCH CANDY! It was nuts. I dressed up as a....well, don't laugh...I was a fairy. I know, right?! I hated the idea. At the very least, I could have been a garden fairy. But nooo, it was all pink and girly and stuff! I hated wearing it, but I got a lot of nice compliments...so. Plus, I got a ton of candy. So who cares about what I had to wear? Halloween is flipping awesome!! I feel like I ate too much candy, though. Iragan got a lot, too, but of course he doesn't eat much of it. Unfortunately. Who passes up candy?! Oh well. Ha-ha, all I can think of right now is candy. Candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy candy.....yeah, that's enough. It doesn't even sound like a word anymore. I guess I'm tired, ha. Well, that's my cue. Ciao!
November 28
- Thanksgiving, journal! A time of being grateful and sharing with your family. We had ham. I don't like turkey, but some family members do. Still, I'm glad we had ham. And rolls! And Mom made me get green beans, ew. But we had a lot of family socializing fun time! We played a bunch of games, like Uno and Scrabble. By "we" I mean everyone but Kaori and Iragan. They are not social people. Ha-ha. Oh well, they missed out on a bunch of fun. Well, Iragan did. I don't think Aunty Kaori has any fun, ever. Still, I had a great time. We stayed up late and watched television at our house, seeing all the Thanksgiving specials...yeah, it was fun. But what I think was most interesting was saying grace. We gave thanks for our food and...well, to be honest, I thought it was kind of weird. Who are we thanking? The sky? It just felt weird. Anyway...at least we had food, ha-ha. I'm stuffed!
December 27
- Christmas! Christmas! If you had ears, journal, they'd be tired of all the jingle bells. Mine are. But who cares?! It's Christmas! Well, actually, it's two days after Christmas. But hey, who cares?
It's been a really fun year, journal. About once a month I look back at all my old entries...it's so cold here I find it hard to remember our beach trip in August! And my birthday, way back in March, was ages ago!! Speaking of my birthday, remember that camera I got? We had to get a new memory chip. I think I took too many pictures, oops. So that was one of my presents for Christmas. Iragan got books....lots and lots of books. Most books are boring, if you ask my opinion. And me? I got some new clothes and this furry thing called a Furby....? They're way cool, though. Mine is blue and has a funny tuft of yellow hair at the top of its head. It's really cute! I named it Koko, because that's what it says all the time. According to the Furbish dictionary, it means "pet". So I guess it likes to be petted? I'm not sure. But Koko is really really cool! I had a super awesome Christmas, and a great year, journal. I guess I'm going to get a new journal for next year, huh? But I'll still keep you, yes. Forever and ever! But still...this is the final time I'll write in you. Hmmm. Almost sad. Ah well....well...Ciao!!
