"One day, I'm going to be famous." said ten year old Ari, leaning against the roof. Her best friend, Kendall, leaned down beside her, gazing up at the stars. 'So do it. Hollywood is only a plane ride away." He said, looking at Ari. She met his gaze, and tilted her head, "Think I should?" He nodded, "Yes. Promise me you'll do it?" Kendall held out his pinky, and Ari nodded, making a pinky promise with him.

Chapter 1
Ari
Nothing exciting ever happens in my hometown, Maxine, Alabama. The whole population? About 300. That's counting ALL the adults, high schoolers, middle schoolers, and elementary kids. Yeah, pretty small. That's why I'm leaving. I'm sick of the same old rut everyday since I could walk. Or, when I was five, when Momma cheated on Daddy with some business man from New York at the Country Kicker, the local club. Should I say, the ONLY club. It resulted in a pretty nasty fight every night until I was seven, and they divorced. During those two years were the worse of my life, and that's when my best friend, Kendall saved me. We've been closer than ever since then, and he's the one who encouraged me to go to Hollywood and fulfill my dreams, as long as he gets to visit me, of course. Ha, ha. Anyways, Daddy went into a depression after him and Momma divorced. So, with some help from me and my sister, Madelyn, he remarried when I was ten, to the woman who I call Mom. She was a school teacher for the deaf and blind, so it was cool to have a step-mom to learn sign language from.
So, back to the present. Deanna, my step-mom, bought my ticket to LAX a few days ago. Kendall didn't seem to know how serious I was until he came for dinner yesterday and saw three suitcases by the door. I guess reality slapped him in the face, because that's what he looked like, and I swear I saw tears in his eyes. Today I'm going to talk to him. We have a special spot when something serious turns up. It's an old cherry tree in a beautiful clearing, overlooking a river where a BUNCH a deer come out in the spring, usually with fawns.

A few hours later.
My plane leaves in two days, on Sunday. Kendall was acting worse than Nadia, following me like a shadow. Right now, I'm waiting for Kendall. He should've been here by now, unless he's with Natasha, his girlfriend. I don't trust her, I mean, she's known for being a "troublemaker" if you know what I mean. But, they both look happy, and that's all that matters. I'm snapped out of my thoughts when I see Kendall walk up, dressed rather nicely, his right hand hidden behind his back. Hiding something, eh, Kendall? He walks up, a smile on his face.
Kendall
The minute I laid eyes on Ari that summer day when we were seven, I was in love. I couldn't ever stop thinking about her, and when she told me that she was leaving for Hollywood, I was heartbroken. She was my first friend, I moved to Maxine from Ireland when I was seven. She's pretty much my only friend still, except for Derek, Johnny, and Micheal. Then last month, I met Natasha. She really was beautiful, and I actually began to love her. But, my heart belongs to Ari, and I hope she will be mine. So, I told her to meet me at our "spot" at Shermon's Meadow. I went to her father, and talked to him about my feelings, and hes okay if me and Ari become a couple. So today I went to the general store, and bought her favorite flowers, white roses.
"Hey, Kendall." Ari said, giving me a hug. I smiled, I love it when she says my name. I wrapped my free arm around her, and said, "I got you something." She smiled, her beautiful light blue eyes shining with excitement. I showed her the white roses, and the biggest smile appeared on her face, and she kissed me on the cheek, "Thank you, Kendall! Oh my gosh, you are the best friend ever!" She hugged me tightly, and I hugged her back, picking her off the ground. She's kinda short. But it's cute. "So, what did you want to talk about?" she asked, and I scratched the back of my neck, "Well.."
A/N: So, what do you think? Should I continue?
