There are tales about a magical island which is said to be floating through the sky, which has never been entered by a human being, where mythical creatures are still living after having been banished from the human world. This island's name is Aederya. And these are tales about it's habitants.

Nobody knows where Aederya actually is - which could be because it never stays on the same spot for a long time.
Aederya is a floating island which usually hovers above gathering clouds.

▬▬▬ | Environment | ▬▬▬


On Aederya you will find almost any kind of environment you can think of. There are large green countrysides, mountains, vulcanos, seas, lakes and forests. There are hot and icy areas, wastelands, deserts, fissures... You could go on and on all day counting which areas there are.

There are around as many different weather zones as there are environments on Aederya, if not even more. The weather changes just like the weather does: totally unpredictable.
Plus, some of the habitants of Aederya have the power to change the weather, so it's not really special if there's suddenly a sandstorm blusting above a flower meadow...

While there are still peoples without them, most of the peoples of Aederya have settled down. There are some villages and small cities all over the place belonging to the... let's say... 'humanoid' habitants of Aederya but most species have simply settled down on well-chosen places like big caves or whatever they feel comfortable in.
However, Aederya has a capital called Ildyth.

Ildyth is the biggest city on Aederya and is situated at it's very center, therefore it became the capital.
Nobody except those who work in Ildyth is allowed to live in this city. The biggest building of Ildyth is the library where everything there is to be written down is collected. That's the place where all Tales of Aederya can be found.

All peoples and species on Aederya speak one language that comes naturally to everybody on the island: Aederian.
However, since usually everyone talks in a language that's native to their species/tribe/whatever, only few people actually use it to talk to each other. It is mostly used for names and similar things.

The exact number of peoples and species on Aederya is unclear, because it doesn't really matter for Aaderians how many there are. It can happen that one being doesn't come in contact with more than two other species, so why would they need to know all?

▬▬▬ | Wolves of Ederlyn | ▬▬▬

The Wolves of Ederlyn are one of the biggest packs around central Aederya. Their grand leader is Myron, Son of Ederlyn, who is the second leader of the pack by birth.
The Wolves of Ederlyn look almost like any other wolf, with the two differences that their colors are mostly unnatural and that everyone of them is carrying at least one marking in form of a celtic rune.

Dragons of Might are all those dragons, which are lords over the different coveys. They usually live with their coveys all over Aederya.
The overlord of all dragons on Aederya, the Lord of Might is Lord Rubin, a gem-born.

▬▬▬ | Gem-born Dragons | ▬▬▬

Gem-born Dragons got their name from the simple fact that they are born from gems. Usually, the color their gem was reflects the color of the dragon which is born.

▬▬▬ | Roaming Hounds | ▬▬▬

These creatures are loners that range over the areas of Aederya. Their fur usually only has two colors, seldomly three or four, and most of them have shimmering claws.

▬▬▬ | Ildythians | ▬▬▬

Ildythians are all those people who work in Ildyth and are allowed to live there.
The most famous of them all probably is a walking wolf girl called Daenerys, who is the librarian.
