Aalyse || Iɴ ᴛʜɪs ᴡᴏʀʟᴅ

    Aalyse was a very lean kiamara. She was slim and very fit, with a neatly groomed mane and a poofy tail-tuff. She was almost perfect. There was just one flaw. Nobody knew her. Nobody. She was completely invisible. And how much she tried, being noticed. She wanted to be popular and a drama queen. She wanted to be like everyone else. Everyone but herself. Now, who wants to be themselves their whole life? I bet you have, at least once, tried to act completely different. Or maybe you haven't acted. Maybe you've changed and moved on. Aalyse felt that way. She wanted to be different. Not herself, but someone who is loved by all, except the people who know them in the deep inside.

    Aalyse woke up to the rays of sunlight bursting into her windows. The smell of last night's candles still hung in the air as she stood up and stretched. When she padded outside, the world seemed so bright and happy. It was perfect. As she padded along the streets where she lived, a sudden movement caught her eye. A little necklace tumbled down the sidewalk. It was pure silver, she could see, with a little heart locket in it. Without thinking, Aalyse picked it up and opened it. There were no pictures or names in the locket. So, there was no way to return it. She looked around, but no one ran for her to claim it. Oh well, I guess I'll keep it, she thought. But honestly, there was pure guilt in her heart. It tore at her and gnawed it's way into her bones. Of course, she tried to fight that feeling off. When she was finished with her walk, she splashed some water on her face at home and remembered the day she tried to win popularity by attempting parkour. It had all ended up in a big mess. She fell, fit her jaw, and broke it. But it healed eventually. Ever since then, she hated parkour… But she always wanted to be that popular girl.

    Aalyse rested her elbow on the tabletop near the sink and sighed, pulling up a chair. The mirror in front of her reflected the most beautiful girl. Well, thats what most think. Thats not what Aalyse thought, though. She thought she was ugly and useless. She needed someone to love her and tell her she is beautiful. Everyone liked her… But they never spoke to her or even noticed her much anymore. Well, 'anymore'. Not after the stunt she pulled at the parkour area, at least. Aalyse pulled out some eyeliner and did her makeup before standing up and stretching. Leading to a yawn, she wandered over to her door and opened it. I have to go speak to Bird, she thought with sudden urge. Hummingbird, or in this case, Bird, was Aalyse's friend. They did things together, most of the time, like watch movies or cook. Bird and Aalyse would also go take strolls in the park.

    Aalyse knocked on Bird's door, and seconds later, Bird opened it. "Hi Bird," Aalyse said, pleased to see her friend.

    Bird seemed surprised. "Hi Aaylse. Can I help you with something?" She asked, hugging Aalyse's shoulder loosely. She stood back and waved her hand inside, meaning 'come in'. She closed the door behind Aalyse and handed her a cup of tea.

    Aalyse sat down and nodded in thanks, before sipping some of the piping hot tea. "Well, you see, I've sort of been lonely. I was wondering if maybe we could hang out this Saturday?" The tea in the cup sizzled and smelt amazing. Aalyse picked up the little teabag and grinning. She loved to fiddle with strings or little objects.

    Bird nodded and looked up at the clock. "Sure, but I have to go somewhere. See ya!" Bird walked out with Aalyse and said goodbye before leaving.

    Aalyse walked back over to her home and plopped on her bed, thinking of her life. It was a good life. Well, it was horrible when she moved there but it was better now. Aalyse couldn't ask for anything more.
