Gaeleth stood atop the mountain, breathing in the cool air.
She spread her wings, allowing it to caress her feathers.
She was rather a plain Shionnix, a dull blue with a small white patch,
that blazed on her forehead, from which stemmed a couple of limp
plumes that hung lifelessly and a unhealthy pale yellow.
She gazed as the shimmer of the moon, sighing in bliss.
That sigh turned to a short scream, as a blaze shot through the sky,
sending sparks flying into the cold night, only to dim and blow
away in a charcoal powder. Her own eyes like that of glowing embers gazed
thoughtfully, before her powerful wings beat and sent her soaring
into the glittering sky, towards the dying fire in the distance.
She reached near the site, which she glanced over in turn.
Gracefully she landed, taking care not to burn her delicate feathers on the
hot mess that littered the ground. She followed the path of debris,
then she gasped. A comet lay before her, a fallen star.
All that proved that fact though, was a small reminant of its flaming
tail, licking at the ground around it. Ignoring the heat she strode,
and plonked herself down beside it. She blew gently, coaxing the flame
with her breath and gentle wing beats. The flame flickered, and began
to glow, bursting forth with newfound strength from each breath.
Suddenly, the world went white, and Gaeleth found herself
being carried up, up, up. Into the darkness of the sky.
Slowly, her eyes fluttered open. She glanced around, and what met
her eyes made her jaw drop and her pupils shrink.
She was being carried, up into the stars and the clouds of sparkle.
She glanced over herself by chance, and was greeted by another surprise.
As she shot through space, the embers of the star glittered and danced
on her skin, coating her and her feathers in a sparkling glow.
Her wings, of which seem to be dipped in the very essence of the universe,
are a rich and shimmering blue that turns to bright hues of swirling galaxies.
As the raging cannonball of flames dodged past the sun, she decided to do
something crazy, since she may as well be dreaming.
As the passed over, she dipped her feet into the burning heat of the sun.
She looked in awe, and found that the sun only burnt her sky like skin,
which turned to dawn. She laughed joyfully, hurling herself off the rock.
She saw a large floating orb, which she soon found ot be the moon,
to which she glided towards silently. As she perched on its arc, A warm
feeling spread across her chest, but she cared not, and simply stared
on into the stars. She felt the loneliness of the moon, and a small tear
rolled down her cheeks, glistening in the glow. That glow traveled up the
trail of brine and suddenly her vision whited out again.
When she next awoke, she found herself back on the tip of the mount,
from whence she came. She ambled to a nearby pond, and gasped at the sight.
Her eyes were aglow, as were the before limp plumes which now glistned with
the glow of the moon. She realised that she now carried the universe
with her, and she breathed its peace. She opened her blistening orb-like
eyes, and threw herself into the night sky, melting into the dark.
