Chapter One;; New Student
Cᴀᴛʀɪɴᴀ
The house was silent as the red-headed teen woke up. She was horribly tired, but she had to get up. It was tuesday, aka: the first day of her new school. She lazily slipped out of her pajamas and into the shower. After washing her hair and letting the warm water soak her, she checked the clock.
'An hour.' She told herself. She Slipped into her school uniform, which was a white button-up, a black vest, and a plad skirt. She pulled on some black boots as she sat on the couch in her living room. She lived alone in her house, but she never seemed to feel lonely. She hummed softly as she ate some cereal and watched the telly. When she was done, she picked up her phone and headed outside. Once to her car, she realized that she had forgotten her bookbag, which was a messenger bag. The red-head walked back inside, grabbed her bag, and got in the car again.
It took the girl about Thirty-five minutes to reach Benjamin High School. She smiled up at her new school. She was an exchange student from the United States, and she was happy to be away from home. She had left her mother and father in The States at the beginning of the summer. She parked her car and got out, grabbing her phone and her bookbag before getting out and heading towards the large feild in front of the school.
Once there, she imediately noticed a table with a few girls standing behind it. Two of them looked extremely happy to be there, but the other three looked like the could care less. As she walked up to the table, she noticed one of the other girls giving her a somewhat evil smile, obviously after stopping mid-sentance. The girl she was talking to turned. They both looked younger than the others. The first girl had long, londe hair and strangely pink-ish eyes. The second one had long, brunette pig-tails. She also had purple eyes and looked completely harmless....
One of the happier girls looked over at her. "Oh, hey!" She said, "You must be new! What's your name?" The girl had long, blonde hair and purple eyes. She also had a set of cordless head phones around her neck. The girl next to her turned almost instantly. She had long, wavy, brunette hair and green eyes. She had an actual flower in her hair and looked a little more layed-back. "I'm Catrina," The red-head said, a bit shyly. "Nice to meet you, Catrina! I'm Lauren, this is Angel, those two are Capital and Karma-they're in high school-, and that over there is Amanda!" Said the girl with blonde hair. Amanda nodded, not looking up from her book.
"Nice to meet you all," Catrina said. "Here's a map of the school, some coupons for the cafe down the road-where did you move?-, and a bell schedule-do you have a schedule yet?" Lauren said. Catrina pulled a schedule out of her bag and showed it to the two girls. Lauren nodded and gave her the papers. "And I moved onto Croydon Road." Catrina added, putting everything into her messenger beg. "Oh, that's the road I live on!" Angel said. Catrina nodded and turned towards the front doors as she heard the first bell ring.
None of the girls she had met earlier were in her first class, so she sat at her dest aquwardly when the teacher told them to socialize. After a minute or two, a boy came up to her desk. He had the blonde hair that was perfectly messed up and light blue eyes.
"Hey," Hey said, his voice deep and devil-ish. Catrina couldn't help but notice the fact that his eyes had a red-ish tint to them. He also had a mischevious glint in his eyes. She nodded shyly. "Hi," She said softly. He was ver handsom, and his smile was overly charming. She looked down at her hands.
"I'm guessing you're new here. My name is Eric." He said, letting his white teeth show. They were perfect. Catrina yanked her mind from his looks and answered. "I'm Catrina." She said. "I'll see you around campus. Maybe you could sit with us at lunch." And with that, he went back to his group.
~ ~ {Lunch} ~ ~
Catrina caught herself right before letting out a loud sigh of relief. The bell for lunch had just rang, and student's were already piling out. Lauren-one of the only people she knew in the class-practicly ran to her desk. "Hurry! I wanna show you where we sit!" She urged the red-head. "Sorry, but someone's already asked for me to sit with him." Catrina said, putting on her bag. "Ooooooooh!
Him!? Yay! You already found you a dude! Wow, girl. You move fast." Lauren said, changing emotions quickly.
They walked out of class together. "Soooo... What's he like?" Lauren pestered Catrina. "Well, I met him in my first class. he seemed pretty nice. And he was really cute." She explained. Lauren's eyes went wide. "Ooooooh! I can't wait to meet him! Do you rember his name?" She asked. Catrina shook her head. "I forgot, but I'll remember when I see him."
Once they got to the cafeteria, Lauren looked for Angel as Catrina looked for the boy. They stepped into the lunch line after Lauren found Angel and got their trays. As they walked out-shoulder to shoulder-Lauren asked, "Do you see him yet?" Catrina looked around. "I don't think so..." She said as she got on her tippy-toes. Shortly after, a familiar figure came appeared. "Hey." Eric said, "You gonna eat with us or no?" He nodded towards the table he came from. "This is Eric, the boy I was talking about." Catrina said, turning to Lauren. Her eyes were thin and she was glaring at him. "Sorry, but she's eating with us for lunch." she growled, grabbing Catrina's arm and dragging her off.
Catrina looked back and mouthed 'sorry', but Eric's glare was cold on Lauren's back. Catrina gave him a questioning look. Lauren gripped her arm tighter. "Come on; we eat outside." She said. Catrina reluculantly followed as Lauren let go of her. As they ate in silence, Karma joined them laughing. "Oh," she said as she noticed Catrina. Karma looked beside her and shh'd the air. "No. Don't be rude, you don't even know her.... No, I'll let her figure that out.... No. Be quiet for a minute and let me eat." She growled.
"So... What's wrong with me hanging out with Eric?" Catrina asked. "Oh, it's probably because he's a va-" But she was cut off by Lauren. "Because he's a very bad person." She growled. "What? She'll figure it out sooner or later... Devin! I thught you told
me not to use that kind of language." She said."Or sooner than later..." Amanda-who Catrina had not noticed-said lowly.
They all looked up to see Eric walking towards them. "Hey." He said. "Hey, Eric." Catrina said happily. This time, had had two othe people with him. She didn't recognize eigther of them. "Why are you here?" Lauren asked. She looked like she was trying to be nice, but the tone of her voice wasn't helping. He gave her a devilish smile. "Just making sure you weren't saying anything
untrue about me." He glanced at Catrina and took a step foward. "Are you sure you wanna eat out here? It's windy and dirrty. Why don't you come sit with us inside. No wind; no dirt." He offered his hand towards her. She reached out for it, she didn't want to do it, but it felt more like she had to.
As soon as her hand touched his, Lauren grabbed her wrist. "You don't have to do this. He's bad news." She said, but that only made Eric tighten his grip. "Let her go." This time, it was Karma speaking. Lauren looked at her in disbelief. Eric took the chance to pull Catrina to her feet and towards him. She felt Lauren's hand slip as he led her inside, a tight grip on her arm.
