Lately i've been looking into greek mythology (thank the Percy Jackson books) and...I saw an amazing centaur editable. Now I have a tale to tell.

Atlanta lives in a herd. She knows how to fight, run, shoot a bow and such like any other centaur- then why is she avoided so much? Now she spends most of her time in the woods, wandering, trying to figure the mutterings of ' a new outcast'.When she finally finds out what an outcast is it scares her. A life without centaurs of any kind, alone and forever wandering. That was before she meant someone....

Mania was never wanted. Never. She was left to die at birth. She never knew the reason. The note didn't explain. All she knew when se was old enough to read was her age, name, date of birth and that she had a father. Shje was left to fend for herself. She got lucky with her life a few times, but she never even saw another centaur until reccently. She alwasy dreamed of a herd and living in one...but now she's not so sure. And there's something going on. Something has been stirring.

So yes, this is a centaur story. You may all now bow down to greek mythology. Now you're probably thinking, 'oh great. Centaur story of Percy Jackson.' Correction: This is not ALL greek! Think of it more as a twist on good old sword and bow fantasy- same tech as medieval times and all, only with CENTAURS. Now think about that a bit longer.

The two main characters right now are Mania and Atlanta, two female centaurs. Yes I am going to introduce a male, but not right now.

Mainly the story is...greek mythology based. Anyways I'm not going to ramble on, but I will be making a quick 'character index/ who's who' to help with all the characters and myth-creatures and if needed, a bit about some important namesakes.

{UPDATE} There is honestly no good way to name this. So....just post your suggestions below and when I have enough I'll set up a poll. Thanks!

Prologue
It was a cold dark night and the wind whipped his face. He looked at the blankets in his arms and sighed. Another centaur came from the shadows. His horse body was well-muscled and black, streaked with grey from age. He had a rough bread and black air that touched his shoulders. He greated the first centaur, noting his golden and white horse half, his dark blond hair and well trimed hair. Nether took notice of the other's weapons. The first centaur said in a low voice, "Hate to do this, I really do. But there's no other way is there?" The other centaur's eyes were dark.
"I suppose not. They're different. You know the laws." He had a body in his arms as well. The first centaur looked unhappy but followed the second one. They came onto a hill, surronded by trees. It had ruins of marble pillars- something of anicent Greece. The first centaur shifted. The second one looked at the body in his arms. He trotted to a fallen pillar. He set the body down so it was sheltered by the fallen stone. He looked at the other centaur.
"I can't. We have no idea." he said sadly. He trotted into the night and the second centaur followed.
"What are you doing?" He asked. The other centaur shook his head.
"I can't bring myself to do it."
"You must! The laws-"
"I know what the laws say." The first centaur snorted. The second scowled. A third moved out of the shadows.
"Well, well," he said in a oily voice,"Look. More to join them." But before he could say much more a fourth centaur came out of the shadows. He looked like the third- brown with black socks. His hair was the same color and the only difference is that the fourth had a beard while the third had no beard.
"Vincy." The fourth said taunting 'Vincy'. Vince was his name and few dared to taunt him but the fourth centaur was his twin. Vince grimaced.
"I dropped one off." the fourth said. Vince snorted and reared.
"My own brother! What has this herd come to?" Vince said. The second centaur snorted.
"Vince, you've always been-" But the second centaur was cut off by an angry roar from Vince, "Close your mouth!" Vince reared again. The second centaur looked for the first pout he had gone off. He roared in anger. But suddenly Vince grabbed his face and turned him to look at Vince.
"You must leave, at least. I forbid you to ever come back." Vince said sleekly. The second centaur looked indifferent buit was hurt and startled inside. No more herd. No more centaurs from here. The second one ran off. The fourth looked at Vince with loathing.
"How am I even related to you!" He shouted. Vince laughed. The sound echoed. The second centaur ran faster, faster, trying to get away from Vince. The fourth centaur reared and kicked his brother in the chest. He drew his sword. Vince had no denfense. His eyes went wide.
"No. No brother! No brother please! You wouldn't-" But Vince cut himself short/ His brother had slashed his arm. He backed away, heart thumping with terror. His brother looked murdorous.
"You've poisioned the herd far enough, Vince. I have as much power as you do. I banish-" But he was cut short from a kick from Vince. The fourth centaur slashed his brother's flank. They battled long and hard. The second centaur gasped for breath listening to the echoing sounds of bloodshed.
"You'll pay." Vince said. He was bloody and cut. His brother had brusies everywhere. Vince ran. Blood flew from his wounds, leaving a trail. the pines had some red needles. The grass shined evilly. The fourth centaur collasped at the same time the second one did. They both gasped for breath. The fourth was holding himself up by his hands, panting heavily, his chest sore, his ribs shattered. The second's legs ached everywhere. His ankle was hurt. His arms and face where cut from pine needles. His ankles had thorns in them. The fourth centaur's breath was shallow. His ribs ached. His bones creaked. His flank felt like it was bleeding. He touched his face and brought a hand down that was wet with blood. His nose had been broken, his jaw bleeding. He wasn't going to die. Not like this.
Vince ran. His chest heaved, aching. He would live. He would gather.
He would storm.

Creak. The branches swayed over head. I had a long night. My dad had been up muttering to himself, making nosie...and boy was I tried. Thump. My hoof hit the ground again. Thump. My tail thrashed against something. Snap. A twig broke. The sunlight streamed in through the leaves and made green light. The light dance. I winced. I had twisted my ankle the day before and now it was in a splint. It ached and throbbed. I looked down at it. Bad idea. I gagged. Okay, really I broke it. I could see some of the bone. My skin had been cut away. Fine- I admit. I was rough housing with a friend, and he had cut my ankle. Then going home I broke it by tripping over a log. Not the best way. I limped forward. I had forgotten my cruch at home. Vomit rouse in my thoart as I thought about the pain. It was liked ntohing i ahd e
