Hello, World.
[Dec. 22, 2012]
- I can't believe I'm doing this.
Keeping a virtual journal, that is.
My user made an off-the-cuff remark about me keeping one in my spare time, and I actually considered it. That is, until I realized I had no spare time.
I guess I should introduce myself, since my user also promised to publish this if I ever got around to it.
- This is a picture of me, taken while I was archiving something... or was I filing something? I guess it doesn't really matter, anyhow.
My name is Chance. I'm a second generation pet, and in charge of my user's archives, files, anything technical. I keep records of trades, wishlist pets, PMs. If I can get it onto my laptop, it's my job. My user is -Audio.Hound- (she's alright, but she's usually out wandering CS, leaving me in charge of the place) but we'll be calling her Audio from now on.
-Yawn-
Ah, excuse me, I'm just tired. That's normal for me, though. I spend my days helping my brother, Toby, and my nights archiving or filing various things.
This is Toby, the resident mechanic. If it's broken, he can fix it. He built all of the fences out back, too.
Oh, I should explain.
Audio has a thing about organization. For every pet group she has, she's built an enclosed pen for that group. In each pen, toys are scattered about, and there's a shed where the pets can go when the weather gets bad. They're fed on a daily basis and visitors are often directed into the backyard to view and interact with them. She's had to aquire quite a bit of land though, and we now own about ten acres of land just outside the hustle and bustle of CS City.
The pets I'll write about the most, however, live in the Audio's house and each of us has a specific job.
At the moment, Audio is out visiting the Pound with Hazard, looking for a new pet to bring home. The Pound is bursting with pets this time of year, what with all the rule-breakers. Hazard's job is (or at least was, he's been slacking ever since he fell for Midnight) to keep an organized list of Audio's wishlist. I've picked up his slack and now his only job is to carry around the list.
A picture of Hazard taken right before an outing, wishlist 'in-hand', so to speak.
The rose he's been carrying around in hopes to impress Midnight, one of our greeters. She doesn't give him the time of day, and to be honest she's a bit of a tease.
But she is part of the family, not matter how anti-social, and you'll be hearing more about her in later entries.
As mentioned before, Midnight is a greeter. If anyone happens to drop by and wants take a look at Audio's collection, she greets them. Our other greeter, also my brother, is Matthias, or Matti.
Matti is Audio's favorite. She'll never admit it to us, but we all know. It's not a big deal, really, because if she had chosen another pet to greet visitors, chances are we would've ended up getting traded away to other accounts, or split into different groups and left to gather dust.
But that's how I got my name, Audio decided to give me a chance. And it's worked out pretty well.
So hello, world. You'll be hearing a lot more from me, but first, some sleep...
Thanks for reading! There's more on the way, so hang in there. c;
Please post feedback below, I'd be glad to hear from you.

Entry 2
New Friends
[Dec. 23 2012]
- Well, tomorrow is Christmas eve, the 24th of December. And to celebrate the holiday? Audio gave everyone the next few days off, and she invited a friend over. Her friend, Batman., brought two of her pets, Flygon and Plushy Sun.
This is Flygon. I snapped a picture of him as he was sitting outside, waiting to be let in by Audio. Unfortunately, he saw me at the last moment and, as you may notice, growled at me.
This is Plushy Sun, also waiting to be let in. He did not see me and I was able to get a decent photo. Yes, he really does carry around all those items.
Audio let them in, and she and Batman. went of to chat, leaving the five of us alone with the two newcomers.
Whom we've never met.
And I was pretty sure Flygon was going to kill us all.
Matti, Toby and Hazard went right up to them, tails wagging, while I hung back, finishing up a document for Audio. Midnight walked off, utterly disinterested.
Flygon barked harshly and flattened his ears, sending the guys tumbling backwards in momentary fear. From the far side of the house, Batman yelled at Flygon, something about calming down. And, suprisingly, he did. But then he ran off to find his user, leaving us with Plushy.
Plushy was, by leaps and bounds, more friendly. We struck up a conversation and sat by the fireplace (Audio had started a fire, the house had been freezing) and eventually Plushy and the guys went outside to play. I stayed inside and took a brief power nap on a large armchair next to the fire.
My 'power nap' lasted longer than I had hoped. By the time I woke up it was almost one in the morning, Batman., Plushy, and Flygon were gone, the fire had reduced itself to glowing embers, and Hazard was sprawled out in front of it, staring at the ceiling. I stood up to stretch, and Hazard turned his head towards me.
"She doesn't talk to me," he said in a sad voice. I knew he was talking about Midnight.
"She doesn't talk to anyone, Haz. Don't take it so hard."
"Well she talked to Flygon." Figures. They probably bonded over their shared hatred of others or something depressing like that.
Hazard filled me in on what I had missed. While looking for Batman., Flygon had bumped into Midnight. They talked for the rest of the day, something Midnight had never done with anyone. Audio, Batman., and the other pets had eaten dinner (ordered in pizza at least), and Hazard was crushed when he found out Midnight had taken a shining to Flygon. Afterwards the three guests went home and all was relatively uneventful afterwards.
I guess Hazard just needed to talk it out, because a few moments later he was out like a light. I followed his lead, and slept till morning.
Second entry!
I may be unable to get to a computer in the next few days, but I'll post more as soon as I can. C:
Thanks for the PMs and comments, they brighten my day!

New Arrival
[Jan. 22 2013]
- After several weeks of holidays, presents, food, and finally re-adjusting to the usual routine, I've finally found time for another entry. Not much happened this holiday season, Audio bought us five little presents, the other pets got new toys in their enclosures, and Audio left the house to us for a week or two while she went to visit friends and family.
Once she returned, she walked through the door with a very long list - not unlike her pet wishlist. It was, in total, 13 pages long and listed all the items Audio would like to own. Hazard was having a hard enough time managing the pet wishlist, mostly because he spent all his energy on trying to impress Midnight. So, Audio brought in a new pet.
Audio hasn't given him a name yet, but he might have one by the time of my next entry.
He used to be part of Audio's hoard group, but she thought it would be fitting that a pet designed to look like a toy would be in charge of her item wishlist.
Well, I have to go help him get organized, so today's entry will be shorter than usual.
Name suggestions, anyone? I'm terrible with names, I'll never think of one on my own. XD

This is a Problem
[May 12 2013]
- I'd like to say I haven't written anything in months because everyone has been 'happily busy', but that's not the case. What's really going on is the slow but sure overflow of Audio's trade group. Twenty thousand pets and counting. Toby has been busy expanding the fences, and everyone (but Midnight, of course) is taking turns helping him. This, along with the regular chores, has kept me away from journaling. Audio has posted several advertisements on her trips into the city - or what she calls the 'forums' - but there was little to no turnout. Ah well, we'll keep trying.
On a lighter note, the butterfly wolf Audio had chosen to keep track of her items has been given a name. Boo. He's rarely seen, he spends most of his time in the basement sorting through items and keeping the plants and pets alive and in check. He seems to have a soft spot for the fish. Once, I had to make a trip into the basement to get the inventory records for item trades, which hadn't made their way onto my laptop yet, I saw him caring for them. He didn't hear me come down the stairs, and I watched him for several minutes as he cleaned the tanks, placed gravel and plants, and fed the fish.
When he finally noticed me, I got quite the earful. His fur is fuzzy fabric, his insides stuffing, and he had buttons for eyes, but he is by no means a cuddly guy.
Batman. has stopped by several times, bringing Flygon and Plush with her. Midnight and Flygon usually go off and chat, and Plush and the rest of us go out and play or, as of late, help expand fences. We've found Boo to be rather anti-social.
I'm being called outside, probably to help with fences again. I hope I'll be able to write again soon, it's nice to rest for a while.
Hopefully I'll be able to keep this up once summer rolls around.

Summer Dreaming
[July 23, 2013]
- With Audio and Matti off visiting Sleepywood and battling nightmares, the house has been relatively quiet. All of CS has been relatively quiet, actually. Most CS citizens are also in the town of Sleepywood participating in the slumber party. I've been able to catch up on most of my archiving, and the others have caught up on their things.
The only problem we've had are the nightmares that Audio brought home. Boo said he would be able to handle them, but they eventually escaped and have been hanging around the dark corners of the house. They haven't made their way out into the pet pens and we're doing all we can to keep it that way. Audio brought home a dream sheep and Toby suggested that we keep it by the back door at all times - maybe it would be able to frighten the nightmares back inside - and it seems to be working.
The nightmares are cool to look at, though. As I'm typing this, one has stationed itself in the corner between the fireplace and the TV. I hasn't moved but I'm pretty sure it's been staring into my soul this whole time.
...
It's freaing me out.
...
If you never hear from me again, you'll know what happened to me.
Send help...
Sorry I keep leaving for long periods of time, I'll try to change that.
