The Setting of my Book, to help people get a better image of the world these people are living in.
The Destruction began when The Country turned against each other, every Country wanting to be on top. The world as a post-apocalyptic mess for years before a save haven for the survivors arose. As time went on, the survivors of The Destruction began to design a world where everyone was happy, everything was perfect and nothing of this sort would ever happen again. Years of planning, plotting and work brought life to the first City of perfection, simply called 'The City'. As time went on and more and more Cities were put up around the world, more and more people started to rebel against this 'perfect world' the government was trying to create. The nor-believers were banished to roam between the Outlands of the cities, living off the land scavenging for whatever they could use to survive. These people became known as 'Scavengers' and are frowned upon by the Government. Once you become a Scavenger, you can never go back to being a Citizen of the Cities. "Any Scavengers found in the cites are to be taken to Prisons and questions or, if they bring harm to the perfect world, they are to be killed as needed." - To quote The Book of The Cities. A book everyone might as well memorize, it's every single law, reason for the cities, the life people will live. It's like the Bible to the people of the Cities.
As time went on, the government was sure no Scavengers could still be around, because the Outlands were slowly getting more and more barren as the Cities expanded. Little did the Government know, The Scavengers, preferably called 'Rebels' due to lack of a better name and their purpose, had infiltrated the Cities and were working form the inside to turn the government upside down, as well as help the Rebels on the outside of the city walls.
By now, the government is happy with the world they had made, until a problem arose. Rouge Scientists, were making these strange mutations to normal humans, as they tried to create a super species of people. The Government quickly tried to put a cap on these things the Scientists had been making, not knowing that these thing also lived naturally, due to radiation poisoning from the Destruction years and years before. Vampires, Werewolves, Mutts, Nightwalkers. They live secretly, among the Humans and help the Rebels with the Rebellion, due to the fact that they are now being hunted.
In the year 3025, it has been discovered that there are people who have a sixth sense, a sense to detect mutations to DNA. In other words, there are people who are able to sense Vampires, werewolves and other creatures. These people were taken in by the government and given a very special mission. Take out any and every Beast that walks the streets with the normal people of the cities.
Luxus, an orphan from the Outlands finds herself and her best friend, Hunter in the middle of the Northern Cape City with the ability to sense these 'Beasts'. The government finds them quickly and begins to train the five-year-old girl and seven-year-old boy with a group of kids who also have the ability. They are trained in the fine art of how to kill each and every beast they will encounter.
The year is now 3040 and the government has advanced in technology. They now have 'smart' technology. Buildings that can sense people, bridges who only allow specified people across, vehicles that hover above the ground with magnetic waves, and of course, robots who can do the things simple humans can't.
Of course, The government only lets people be together if they allow it, and people can only have children if they have been okayed. We wouldn't want any freaks, mutations or stupid kids in out perfect society, would we? But, there are people who disapprove of this - such as the vampires and werewolves, who go about and do what they want with who they want, always creating more and more flaws in the face of the perfect society.
Now, you can kind of get a feel for what's happened and how things work.
