Chapter 1: A Dream

So bright were the lights when they hit my eyes, I had to shield them. Cheers roared in my ears and fans whooped as we marched out of the entrance to the dungeon below the bleachers. When my feet came across the grass turf, I lowered my arms and starred at the crowd across from me. My shoulders were broadened with the padded gear for the Lake Monster football team in Ohio.

Fans cheered us on as we marched to our side of the field and took our standing positions in front of the benches. Being the only girl on the team, I was nervous. It was my first game with this new and strange football team in a new town that I had never known before. Practice had been easy enough, but the actual opponents we faced seemed to want to tear me apart.

“All right there, Catalina?” Chuck, the captain of the football team, asked me as he turned to face me. Chuck had been the nicest teammate so far, and always tried to make me comfortable. All I could do was smile to him.

“Don’t you worry about me big C! This wouldn’t be my first go around,” I told him with a wink and the biggest smile I could manage. He smiled back and so did some of my other teammates. They all had been informed of my previous high school football career in Oregon, and from what they had seen in practice, they new I was tough and couldn’t be moved easily (one of the major reasons why I was a lineman!).

I stood 6’3 at full height, had broad shoulders, and weighed 215 pounds soaking wet, I guess you could say I’m not your average girl! My hair was cropped to shoulder length and died black with orange and blue streaks throughout it, and I had a curved figure with chiseled facial features. Most of the guys on the team said I was a catch, I didn’t believe them.

The referees blew the whistle and the four captains for each team started out across the field to shake hands and toss the coin to see who gets kick off! Chuck, smiling his crooked grin, kept his blond hair hiding his gorgeous blue eyes as he called heads. He was strong built in the chest and shoulder region with a slender waist and square jaw (What? I like the guy, so sue me!).

When the coin landed on heads, the crowd cheered and we got into our positions quickly. Our kicker stood at the ready, and once he was sure the rest of the team was ready for him to kick, he ran up to the ball and pulled his leg back in one swift motion, making the ball sail to the other side of the field. Smirking, my teammates plowed through the defense that the other team had created to protect the runner, and took the runner down with a team effort made by Jace and Mike, the twin brutes.

As soon as things settled down and the position of the ball had been determined, the two teams lined up on the ball. I had the honor of being on starting defense (lucky me right?) and I took my position up as the left defensive tackle, right next to Jace, who smirked at me, knowing I could take on at least three of the thugs in front of me (how awesome is that?). Stretching out my arm, I placed the tips of my fingers down on the grass gently and balanced myself between my arm and my legs that I had spaced out perfectly underneath of me.

Once the ball was hiked, I launched into the air and rammed my shoulder into the guy’s chest in front of me and stopped dead in my tacks as I looked at the rest of my teammates. Werewolves! They were all werewolves!

I jumped up in my bed screaming as sweat rolled down my brow. “Calm down, it was just a nightmare,” I repeated to myself as I hugged the blankets around me. But it was so real! If I tried, I could have reached my hand out and ran the soft fur of Jace through my fingers! I thought starring at the horse-patterned sheets covering me. Lights turned on in the hallways and my brother rushed in.

“What in the world is going on in here?” he asked me, as he looked me up and down to make sure I was ok.

“Just a bad dream Bret.” Bret starred at me in disbelief. He was in nothing but his “got milk?” boxers

Loud and ghastly, a ghostly scream pierces through the thick night air close to the coast of the Mediterranean in Italy. Her stride lengthens and her heart starts to pound like a drum against her petite and fragile chest. Alex rotates her head in every direction to make sure she’s alone and hears nothing but the deadly silence while waves crash like ships against the rocks. Soon, her delicate ears pick up the sound of footsteps as they close in on her and her heart races at the speed of light. Short breaths come to her and the darkness of the night closes in around her. A stench of rotten fish caries in and bestows upon her sensitive nose and her eyes become useless as the fog creeps up with the stealth of a fox. Without a moment’s hesitation, her feet sound like thunder rolling across the cloud ridden night sky while her limbs pump to carry herself away from the black mass that shadows her. With her eyes wide, her body trembles with cold shivers as she soars over the icy concrete below her feet. Suddenly, her feet screech to a halt as her heart’s thunder carries on for miles. Darkness hugs her into a solid blanket of blackness and her eyes are cut off from usage. The chaos around her trembled with a vibe so ominous she shivers and turns to face the solid blackness of the alley. Through her sweatshirt, her skin tingles to the soft brush of skin on skin. Something as sharp as a kitchen knife pierces the delicate skin of her hand and the cold shivers return with a vengeance. Within her own throat, lays a sound close to a screech of a bat that scrapes against the walls of her wind pipes, and her last breath escapes as a sigh.

Chapter 1: A New Beginning

The sun hit my eyelids and brightened the blackness of my sleep. Slowly, I pried my eyes open and starred up at my orange ceiling as my fluffy pillow caressed my head. “It can’t be the first day all ready,” I muttered under my breath as my muscles relaxed and then tensed back up with anticipation for the starting of a new school year.

“Lisa! Time to get up! Axel is waiting for you!” my mother, Leanne Stealth, called for me. Grumbling, I threw the horse-patterned blankets and sheets off of me as I sat up. The orange contrast of my room blinded me with the mixture of the sunlight. Adjusting, I scanned over my cluttered desk to my state of the art stereo system with a stack of Alternative albums placed beside it.

My walls were covered in posters of rock bands and emo boys along with pictures of animals that I had took or printed off from the Internet. Green, soft carpet covered the wooden panels of my floor as I lowered my legs from the bed. The desk had my summer studies of veterinarian medicine scattered in front of my blue Acer computer. As I stood up, I heard Axel bust up with laughter downstairs. “Good old Axel.”

Smiling, I rushed into the bathroom and looked around at the neon green walls. I loved them and they gave me a sense of peace as I brushed my teeth and threw my clothes on that I had set out the night before. Checking myself out in the mirror, I smiled and thought, Carson would love how I look! I was 6’2 and had waist length orange hair with ragged bangs that I tussled up and a chiseled triangular face and hazel eyes that changed colors. Most of the time they stayed a combination of green and brown, but depending on my mood and the light they would change from blue to gray to orange to yellow to green and then to red.

A black tank top hugged my curved, slender figure with loose skater jeans straggling my hips. Red and black striped converse covered my elegant feet and I picked up one of my Gothic rock gloves and placed it gently over my right hand and flexed the tenants to make sure the glove was a nice fit. I fumbled in my medicine cabinet and found my snakebites. Chewing on my lip I placed them in and looked myself up and down. That should do it. I think I’ll ask Axel what he thinks though, I thought to myself as I walked out of the bathroom, through my bedroom door, and took two steps at a time down the old wooden staircase.

“Slow down kiddo,” Hank said as I nearly ran into him. Hank was my brother. He was about 6’4 with a barrel chest and wide shoulder frame

A banana peel, gleaming and squishy, lies on the hallway floor. My unsuspecting foot steps on it barely and starts to slide forward. “Lacy, watch out!” Jack yells out, [a little too late], as he watches my body go up into the air. Blonde hair whips against my delicate face as my heart pounds and my feet leave the ground. I flail out my arms for some type of balance in a last attempt to stay upright rather then landing on my back. Everything swirls around my head in a fast blur as my body leans backwards. The banana peel flies straight to Jack, [a close friend of mine], which smashes into his face with the sound of smacking lips when it connects with his pale skin. He wipes it off and watches me as I plummet towards the marble ground. But before I hit the ground, my body hangs in midair as thoughts buzz around in my head, gnawing at my brain. After a few more seconds in the air, my body slams into the ground with a crashing thud. Pain sears through my entire backside and my face scrunches up into a tight expression. Jane, [a freshman], points and laughs at me while saying, “Lacy seems to need walking lessons!” Jack, seething with blind rage, walks over to me, forgetting about the banana peel and stepping on it just like me. His body flies up into the air and hangs there for a few terrifying milliseconds, then comes crashing down to the hard marble floor. Both of us look at each other with pain written across our faces, and Jack smiles to me. “I guess I need lessons on walking just as bad as you,” he says to me.

PLEASE COMMENT :) I'M REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THIS ONE!

If you want to use anything from this Poem PM me and talk to me first!

Authors note: When I write a Poem, I do not write it with any rythym! It is a simple very short story that has a heartbeat to it!

Fallen Angel

My once Angelic face turns to stone
Nothing but the expressions of bitterness appear
Laughter no longer fills me
Light no longer surrounds me
The dark constricts itself around me
And to the touch, everything is ice

Once glacier Blue eyes turn to stone grey
Angelic and gentle hands, turn withered and warped
A glorious body turns to a shrunken shell
Bright hair so Bronze, turns dull and Black with hate
Glorious snow White Agel wings turn to Black Raven wings
Envy envelops me as I watch those around me feel what I can't

All I feel is Pain
And why you may ask?
Because I dared to sin
I commited the worst sin of them all for an angel
I fell in love
I fell to temptation

Passion enveloped me
Fire burned in my blood
And for that,
My angelicness was taken away!
"Giving Up doesn't always mean you're weak, Sometimes it means you're strong enough to let go!"
