--With more and more cats passing because of Darkfever, the clan grows fearful. Still, it seems the disease is quick to spread and hard to stop. Mockingbirdstar and Charstar consider halting all patrols for the moon, but the fear of attacks or lack of food outweighs the price of sickness, especially as it seems some cats are recovering.
--Charstar tries to feel pride at Heatherdust's warrior ceremony, but can't help the sinking feeling that he is losing his clan and he is helpless. Ivyshine consoles her mate, also worrying for her dad...
--Shrewpaw is new to the clan, growing close to Hawkpaw and Falconpaw; especially the latter, as she frets about behind in her training and failing so much. Shrewpaw confides about her fear of failure, determined to try her assessment again and again and succeed no matter what. The trio are quick friends.
--Carrotpaw and Ocelotpaw are down after Glasspaw's passing, and Batpaw rallies her two littermates into trying their best for Glasspaw. Each vow to the be the best warriors they can be, for her.

--Arrowspark's journey. He escaped a rogue group who held him hostage due to issues with his brother, whom abandoned him and left him. Safety in numbers is what Arrowspark is after, hoping to abandon his past for good, though the dreams keep haunting him...
--Heatherdust, also new to the warrior den, ends up in a nest near Arrowspark. She confronts him after a couple of nights, hoping to help him cope and sleep restfully through the night without bad dreams. The pair end up talking for hours each night, out away from the crowded warrior's den.
--Cirruspatch and Blizzardbird talk with Cyclonespark and Thundercloud about family. Blizzard and Cyclone reminisce their short time spent with Gustheart, the mood solemn as Cirruspatch also remembers fond memories with his mom. Each vow to be supportive parents always, to protect their kits no matter what. This is further fueled by Stormpaw's anxieties about ever being able to pass his apprenticeship, feeling stuck in his training and unable to master tracking. Cirruspatch and Stormpaw spend a lot of time together, the older tom giving Stormpaw great advice about resilience.
--Darkfever is running its course thoroughly through the clan, and many cats wonder if they will ever be safe from the disease. But, somewhere in the forest, the flowers emerge, giving Tawnyfire hope even after she mourns the loss of her father. He was overbearing, but she misses him nontheless, confiding in Polarbear and her kits.

--Families are ripped apart due to the Darkfever rampaging through the camp. Even so, amidst the chaos and the fear, Scorchlight receives a prophecy in one of the quiet moments of mourning as she retreats to her own den to be by herself and mourn the loss of her dear mother. The Fallen comfort the medicine cat, saying that the end of the hardship is near.
--Bananakit mourns the loss of one of his parents differently, saying he will avenge her death by becoming the best medicine cat he can ever be. Scorchlight and Cardinalspike manage weak smiles at the kit's promise, both appreciative that there is a cat that wants to join the pair of them.
--Atlasrain and his kits hold a special ceremony for Skippercloud, grief in the air all around them as other families and friends do the same.
--Novacloud (Nova) and Popcornpaw's (Popcorn) journey -- how they ended up together, their travels together. Popcornpaw is an adventurous, energetic, and bouncy apprentice, while Novacloud is a more stoic and serious cat who just wants to be left alone. Still, they don't have it in them to chase the apprentice away, wanting to get the pair somewhere a bit safer than where they came from.
--Fritillarypaw is another newcomer, a soft and gentle she-cat who has had a lot of misfortune. She changes the topic whenever another cat asks about her scars, a dark bit of her past she would rather forget right now. She has a calming presence, and many of the apprentices find themselves befriending her.

--Dace and Salmon's tale - how they lost their family. Swamp gators are not cats' friends, a harsh reality too many cats now in ChaosClan have realized...
--Sloebramble has been wandering a forest for a while, in search of... something. They aren't sure what, but they are tired of bumping into things. Perhaps they can find someone to guide them in ChaosClan.
--Pineconepaw and Popcornpaw hit it off right away, while Fritillarypaw befriends Salmonpaw with her quiet attitude and supportive nature. The other apprentices can be a lot, with their different outgoing and fiery personalities, and the two new apprentices take solace in their alikeness.
--Olivegrowl sees that her kits are hiding something from her, determined to see what it is throughout the moon. The stories of the same thing happening to Kiwituft echo around her brain, having a small inkling she knows what she might find eventually - her suspicions proving correct when two kits come out of the swamp, dirty but bright. The tom quickly announces, his chest puffed, that he is Spadekit, and his sister is Olivekit. The she-cat is more timid, only perking up and trusting Olivegrowl when she mentions her name was once Olivekit too. Silently, Olivegrowl smiles at knowing there is another 'olive' in the clan, already falling in love with the two kits as if they were her own, Spadekit reminding her of herself and Olivekit, not quite painfully, reminding her of her late mate, Eveningrain.

--Something seems eerie about the swamps lately, the gators all but nonexistent... Scrochlight has a bad feeling about the coming moons, though she hasn't received any omens from the stars... yet. She shares her concerns with the leaders, and they are quick to believe her, knowing how treacherous gator attacks would be with only two medicine cats.
--Charstar and Mockingbirdstar gather a small council to discuss what the future for ChaosClan might be. Do they stay and fight? Do they risk moving again, potentially as the weather gets colder? Do they move under suspicions of an attack while the weather holds?
--Violetbird is a suave cat with a lot to say. She almost immediately gathers a following around her, a popular cat off the bat. Iciclesnap is intrigued by her, everything she has wished she could be, and strikes up a friendship - half to learn how she can be more confident in herself, and half because she catches feelings for the she-cat...
--Sealstripe slips into the territory almost unnoticed, until Scorchlight discovers her while checking on her usual herb patches. She brings her back to the clan, no questions asked, not even bothering to talk to Charstar or Mockingbirdstar about accepting the expecting queen. The others are quick to welcome her as well, seeing that she is close to having kits. Shortly after, Smudgeflower, Currawongdirft, and Oilspill are brought into the midst of ChaosClan life, found while hiding from a thunderstorm at Oilspill's most vulnerable. The trio decided to trust the clan for safety in numbers, and because they decided to trust the cats right off the bat - after all, it would have been easy to drive them away, but instead they were offered solace.

--The alligators are coming back, attacks and sightings becoming more frequent, much to the clan's alarm. The clan is still split on what they should do, but most cats are saying that they don't want to leave just based on suspicions... Yet Scorchlight is still shaking her head, her sinking feeling only getting worse, despite the unusual silence from The Fallen about ChaosClan's situation.
--Sealstripe has her kits, fiercely protective of them already. Dugongkit, Bambookit, and Walruskit are welcomed into the world. In the same vein, the nursery continually grows, as Honeycloud, Rustfreckle, and Honeycloud's kits are found by Walnutblaze and brought into the clan. The older warrior is strangely protective of Honeycloud and her kits, and Mockingbirdstar only vaguely knows why, partially remembering a very sweet motherly cat when he was an apprentice, the mother of Walnutblaze. It reminds him of his own late mother, and he respects Walnutblaze for his caring towards the new queen and her kits, watching the warrior take on a grandfatherly role for the kits, who quickly latch onto him and adore him. Rustfreckle is hesitant of the clan at first, but seeing that Walnutblaze is just as protective of her family as she is, she accepts him as her own fatherly figure as well; it just takes a while for her to warm up to him.
--Stormpaw congratulates Tornadospark on passing, surrounding himself with his family and keeping his spirits high despite still being an apprentice. "I'll get it next moon!" He vows, a big smile on his face. Inwardly, he is a bit disappointed his littermates were able to reach their warriorship faster than him, and talks to Thundercloud about his insecurities. Being the soft and gentle dad that he is, Thundercloud offers his support, and is proud of Stormpaw no matter what.
--Popcornpaw seeks out Novacloud, still thinking of them as an older sibling, much to Novacloud's dismay. They often hide in the shadows from Popcornpaw, too overwhelmed with the apprentice's relentless talking. Sunshinebreeze finds the cat, lightly telling them that Popcornpaw looks up to them and that they can just send the apprentice on mindless tasks, or tell them to practice training, reflecting on how he was the same way as an apprentice, always trying to bother the warriors he looked up to. Novacloud sighs, thanking Sunshinebreeze, hanging around him because he was always able to get Popcornpaw to calm down or go away. The pair begin to bond, something akin to more than friends... though neither are willing to admit it.

--The ultimate decision is made, and most cats are not keen on leaving based on suspicions of one cat. Scorchlight stalks off from the clan, sulking in the forest, tears coming to her eyes as she reflects on how she can protect her clan from a growing threat that most don't seem to believe in. Molassesclaw finds her, keeping her company and letting her vent. The scout whispers to her mate about her late brother, telling the medicine cat that she lost her brother to the threat of a hawk that no one bothered to take seriously until he was killed.
--Walnutblaze is another cat that is heeding Scorchlight's suspicions, refusing to let Honeycloud or her kits out of his site when possible. He and Rustfreckle team up, making sure that they are never let out of either of their sights. Thistlepath is doing the same with his apprentice aged kits, already so protective over them, becoming almost overbearing for the young apprentices. Cayennepaw and Ghostpaw are the most annoyed by their father's overbearing protectiveness, often disappearing together or alone into the forest.
--Bananapaw is so excited to start his medical training, one of the only things that can get Scorchlight's mind off of her growing fear. Even still, she hands off a lot of Bananapaw's excitement to an unwilling Cardinalspike, often wandering away from the medicine den to stare off into the forest, trying to hear for any alligators. Vanillapaw comes by often, missing her brother, much to Cardinalspike's annoyance. The younger healer realizes training apprentices is definitely not for her, trying to confront Scorchlight about taking more responsibility for the young tom, though having trouble finding the now elusive healer.

--The new arrivals this moon seem mostly unaware of the tense attitudes of some of the ChaosClan cats. Blackthornbloom immediately starts asking for a cat similar in description to Sloebramble, but they are unsure who Blackthornbloom is. Eventually, vague memories from both cats piece together that they are siblings, separated after their family was scattered due to rogues trying to get their food supply. Sloebramble is aloof for the whole thing, never really forming deep connections with their family anyhow. But they're willing to give family another shot, realizing that Blackthornbloom truly cares for them.
--Guavakit and Lavakit are well-loved by their dads. Silverdance is a light of the nursery, enjoying every single free moment he has in with the kits, even with the kits that are not his own. With fondness, Silverdance watches his kits grow stronger each day, always encouraging them to be the best they can be.
--Thrushdive and Magpiechase celebrate their warriorships together, holding their own private ceremony in the starlit swamps, long after the clan has gone to bed. They share their favorite memories of Papayakit, taken too soon from them, hoping he can see them from his place in StarClan. Together, they choose what his warrior name should have been, deciding it is only fair that he also receive one; Payapaclaw will live in their memories forever.
--In the sharp, stinging death of Morningdew, Mockingbirdstar and Charstar agree to bring a trusted warrior into the deputy position. Cascadefreckle accepts the position in humbleness, thinking of Cicadastar and how she wishes she could have this position beside her. Mosquitowing is sure that Cicadastar is looking down on her, celebrating with her mother in a rare quiet moment while her kits are sleeping.

--A lull in alligator attacks settles Mockingbirdstar and Charstar into a small sense of security, each agreeing with a sigh of relief that they made the right decision. But Scorchlight is still distant with them, flashing them warning glances whenever cats are sent into the swamps without backup. She refuses to go out on herb patrols without an escort anymore, usually leaving Cardinalspike to deal with that part on her own. The sinking feeling in Scorchlight's chest grows stronger each day...
--Periwinklenose arrives, immediately hitting it off with Sloebramble. It seems the pair are meant for each other, and the two never go anywhere without each other. It's strange, Sloebramble thinks, but they swear Periwinklenose makes the whole world seem clearer...
--Locustswoop isn't doing well, the pain and loneliness of her entire family, gone too soon, causing her grief. She barely shows up to her assigned duties, often wandering aimlessly throughout the camp. Finpatch, despite never being close to Locustswoop or her littermates, offers his ears, and vows silently to keep Locustswoop distracted from her pain, to give her the best life she can have without her family... perhaps even to become her new family. "No one deserves to be alone," Finpatch says quietly, pushing himself into the fluffy she-cat's pelt in comfort.
--Alpineheart and Aniblaze find themselves spending more and more time together, both waiting to tell the other about their feelings. Alpineheart is the one to break the ice first, admitting to the other tom that he's always liked him as more than just a best friend. Aniblaze flashes a rare smile that melts Alpineheart's heart... "I know," the normally stoic tom says playfully, giving Alpineheart a soft headbutt. "I was wondering when you were gonna admit it." Alpineheart's emotions soar, a wide grin stretching across his face.

--Fernpool has been wandering a while since she left the original ShiningClan. We get a brief look into what she's been doing since then, having a brief stint in another clan before its disbandment. Eventually, she learns of ChaosClan, joining them shortly after making her way into the swamps. What she doesn't realize for a few days is that ChaosClan also shares a connection to her old home... With a jolt, she realizes that Scorchstar's own daughters had taken refuge here, and vows to never reveal what she had connections with and why she was exiled from ShiningClan...
--Mosquitowing and Mintmask welcome their three kits, the former inviting Locustswoop in to see them. A spark lights up within Locustswoop, and she vows to protect her family, however distantly related, at all costs. Finpatch nods at her from afar, not wanting to interrupt the moment, happy that Locustswoop seems to have found peace for herself in some way. The two remain good friends, taking time each day to make sure they connect with each other and talk about their feelings.
--Cascadefreckle mourns the loss of her last littermate. The celebration of Mosquitowing's kits is almost bittersweet, though she knows all her family members in StarClan and The Fallen are watching over her and Mosquitowing and the new arrivals in the nursery.
--The attacks start up again, Scorchlight barely able to contain her 'I told you so' to the leaders. She again brings up the idea of leaving, and the leaders shift on their feet, knowing the approach of Leafbare would make for difficult travels. No one wants a repeat of the hardship of the last move. But more deaths will come, this much she warns the leaders of. A difficult decision must be made whether more lives will be lost if they stay, or if they leave in Leafbare...
