Does the way someone posts make you want to read their work more? If it's organized, are you attracted to it- or does it make no difference? Sadly, yes. I prefer to read stories on here with the font size 85, and it has look at least a little bit organised. However, I mainly judge on the blurb/summary (if your story doesn't have one I most likely won't read it) and if I like your blurb I'll read the first paragraph, decide if it's something I'd like to read or not, then continue to read or look for another story c: However, if someone specifically asks me for critique, I'll read it no matter what.

Should I add a little section to detail the characters? [x]

Firstly- WOW!! This seems like the starts of an amazing sotry- I've already book-marked it c: I can tell this is going to become one of my favourites. And now for the actual question you were asking- Yes, I think you should add a bit about the characters c: I'm really looking forward to the first chapter!

i'll definitely be reading all of your stories, guys c: (though i don't always comment, because i'm a weirdo like that)
well, guess it's off to type up the next chapter of my story and then read all of yours!

You seem like a talented writer, and I'd be glad to read some of your stories.

aww, thanks, that means a lot ^^ (i don't know how to take compliments so just roll with it cx)

honestly, to me, it makes no difference. i read stories on wattpad, fanfiction.net, ao3, and the format on those sites is preset, so you have to deal with what you have. when i read stories on chickensmoothie, it doesn't really bother me what font it is or how their set-up is. to me, it's more about the writing then it is the coding. like how they say don't judge a book on it's cover (i do that anyways but shhh), i don't judge someone's story on here based off of how they code. i look at how a story is written, and if it interests me.

No, not really. For me it's all about quality. It could be beautifully organized but it wouldn't make me think the story is good if I didn't like it. Of course I prefer things to be correctly formatted, but over all I'd much rather just pay attention to whether a story is interesting rather than physically attractive.

eep, i haven't been on this thread for awhile, but hello, earthlings, i'm back! c:

i'm kind of ashamed to say so, but this is a definite yes. like saltwater veins said, sometimes, if the title doesn't look appealing i won't click on the thread. i tend to lean towards reading writing that has the chapter's writing spaced out. that's why, with my story, i have it double-spaced and size 90 [even though i normally type in size 85]. if the writing is small and clumped together, i usually won't even try to read it.

though, on the other hand, i may click on a thread if it looks nice, but if the writing has many spelling and grammar mistakes, i'll be much less likely read it.

To be honest, it doesn't really make much of a difference with me. As long as the writing is error-free and the paragraphs are correctly spaced, then I will go ahead and give it a try. I sometimes pretty up my writing, but it's more for the fun of coding than actually wanting people to read it just because it's nice-looking.

I use smaller fonts in roleplays and stuff mostly because I don't want to make it look too long (I have a tendency to overwrite), and it does admittedly look neater that way. However, if the font in a story is smaller than 85 (especially on a computer), I'd leave, mainly because my eyesight is absolutely terrible and I don't want to squint at a screen all day trying to read something.

It really doesn't for me. I don't like reading things with long lead-up stuff with lists of characters and indexes and stuff though, and usually skip over that stuff (In reading and writing) because it just doesn't really have a point. If you want to know who all the characters are, read the story! I'm often more likely to read less fancy stories, just because I can get to the story instead of scrolling past a ton of stuff.

Also it's nice to hear a lot of people saying they don't care because when this question first came up I was worried I'd discover that people don't like my writing because I don't make it really fancy.

PLEASE READ! PLEASE PM BACK!!

Currently making a book about dragons and I need species ideas. I've got a few, but Im stuck on what a dragon should look like. It's called a Rainlicker and they love water, have HUGE tongues, live in nests and by the sea and are very good swimmers.

Hey bro! Yee, I'm a weirdo, but I am friendly <3
I really, really miss CS, but I'm so busy and I don't really use our mac anymore unless I have to, but once I get my laptop and iPad I'll be much more active. Promise <33 And I need to sort out my sig too bc it's being stupid ;-;
I'm a Scorpio. Don't hate. Not all Scorpios are spawn of Satan.
I love anime, manga, my horse, Mavis, cherry blossoms, the colour teal, art of any sort, and music. And How To Train Your Dragon <33
My favourite animes: Free! Iwatobi Swim Club, Attack on Titan, Haikyu!!, Tokyo Ghoul, and Owari no Seraph. Obviously, I've watched a load more. I just really, really love these ones. And the characters are basically my children
