i'm a new member!
➹ hachi. / katya / ➹ / OPEN FOR CRITIQUE?
nope. writings just my hobby.
hello c: I'm hachi. please call me katya if you can. I write weird random stuff and I do enjoy writing, but a lot of my writing does not make sense or is very dark... as you can see in that thread above.
do your moods change how you write? does it make a large affect on your writing style, or characters ultimate mood?I believe that my moods do strongly effect this. my moods/personality/thought process switches often and I can only write when I'm in a certain mood. I don't think it affects my writing style, rather my ability to write. for example; if I'm really really happy I cannot write at all.
do you believe you need to go into a mood to fit a special scene? if you are in a mood, will you just make a scene that youve been wanting to do?no and yes. I don't need a mood to go into a special scene, but yes certain moods can help me with things I've been wanting to do~

To those of you saying you're struggling with originality, here's my solution: do what's obvious, but not obviously obvious. For example, for hundreds of years there have been stories in which people turned into animals, yet kept their human minds. However, there were no stories of the reverse--animals turning into humans and keeping their animal minds. That is the premise of my book, and I love writing it.

Usually talking about you story out loud to other people reading it really helps, and asking what they think will happen or their opinion. Doing something out of the norm in your life might also lead to more fluid thinking. That's what I do whenever I get writer's block, or feel my story is too "common".
Hope this helps^.^
Yes, this helps a lot. Thank you!

do your moods change how you write? does it make a large affect on your writing style, or characters ultimate mood?
If you are in mode for writing, and are really feeling the characters, it is much more fun to write and your book will come out much better if you are in the right frame of mind. If you are stressed, angry and upset and are trying to write, your book will be rather depressing, or not as good as it could be. Wait until the next day, or a few hours later if it is in the morning, and then try again. It's all about the mode that makes your readers really feel what you are writing.
do you believe you need to go into a mood to fit a special scene? if you are in a mood, will you just make a scene that youve been wanting to do?
If you are really into the book, and especially the characters, it is easy to write any scene in a book, but sometimes if you are angry, your characters's speech and/or actions will express your mood, so again, you need to be in the right frame of mind to write to your full potential.

I really, really miss CS, but I'm so busy and I don't really use our mac anymore unless I have to, but once I get my laptop and iPad I'll be much more active. Promise <33 And I need to sort out my sig too bc it's being stupid ;-;
I'm a Scorpio. Don't hate. Not all Scorpios are spawn of Satan.
I love anime, manga, my horse, Mavis, cherry blossoms, the colour teal, art of any sort, and music. And How To Train Your Dragon <33
My favourite animes: Free! Iwatobi Swim Club, Attack on Titan, Haikyu!!, Tokyo Ghoul, and Owari no Seraph. Obviously, I've watched a load more. I just really, really love these ones. And the characters are basically my children ❤

wicked; wrote:okay, so i was planning out the plot for this story, and it seemed so perfect. like, i was so happy and excited to plan it all out and make the characters and storyline and just everything... but then i realized that it was almost identical to divergent..
so, this brings me to ask a question for all of you; how to you avoid writing about something you've already read before?
Usually I simply realize it's too similar and change it, but honestly if I want to write something that already exists, I just put it somewhere where people can see it and call it a fanfic...
Also, one of my stories is way too much like Divergent too, but I had the idea before reading Divergent. No clue what to do about this.

I'd be lying if I said no, and I'd be lying if I said yes. It affects different things, it can affect the writing style, it can affect the character's ultimate mood, it depends. Music more does this for me cx
do you believe you need to go into a mood to fit a special scene? if you are in a mood, will you just make a scene that youve been wanting to do?I don't really need a mood, it's the music that helps, and I can do it myself, but it's better off I'm listening to music. Currently, I'm writing a hatching scene in my fanmade HTTYD book, and Round and Round by Imagine Dragons is helping. I am going to switch to Fallen right now c:alright i needa do my own questions pfft

How does music affect your writing?
It keeps me going with new ideas and a good mood for writing. Sometimes I get a little off track and bored, but listening to music changes my perspective a lot.
If you listen to music when writing, what do you usually listen to? An album, a few songs, or just one?
I usually listen to a wide variety of songs, such as Once Upon A Dream By Lana Del Ray, Sorry Jack Remix By TheLivingTombstone, and Lips Are Moving By Meghan Trainor. All of which are completely different genres.
Do you constantly need to listen to music when writing?
I would prefer to, especially when writing adventure. Yet sometimes I need to pause it to really think about what I'm writing and stay on track, but otherwise it's kinda a yes and no situation.

How does music affect your writing?
Music helps me so much when I am writing. Many of my short stories are inspired by songs. I think of mini animations in my brain as I listen to the song, and I put those animations to paper.
If you listen to music when writing, what do you usually listen to? An album, a few songs, or just one?
I will usually listen to one song on repeat until my story is finished.
Do you constantly need to listen to music when writing?
Music also helps me focus, as I need sound to concentrate. This is why I dread tests in school.
