Hypothetically speaking, if you were to make a diary based off another one by you, but it was set 20 years ago... Would it be counted as the same series?

The world name is the same, but otherwise, everything from worldbuilding changes. Laws, traditions, technology level... different. (Excluding stuff like "don't kill people.) Only two main characters are the same, and aforementioned characters only get a few lines in the original, also having slightly different personalities. Because if you don't change in twenty years, then that may not be good.

On the other paw, the entire thing is made to showcase the history of the world of the original, and how the country develops. It also shows some minor characters', along with villains', origins.

... okay, maybe this grew to more than just "hypothetically speaking."

I do quite like the idea of someone revisiting it, though, if only for the potential jokes if read during camping or something. Something boring? Into the campfire it goes!
