"It's fine, but I need to go easy on it for now." You motion to the offending limb in question. "I guess it's just a bruised bone or whatever he said."

Divercloud is at the very back of the den, ignoring you and pretending to resort everything.

"You'll be out tomorrow, then?" Applefoot says.

"Not for leaping trees, no." You give her a wary look.

"Not for leaping trees." She rolls her eyes. "We'll find something for you to do."

Right, you think as she leaves. Something to do.

The problem is, you've got an entire list of things to do right now. The fact that someone's controlling Eveningstar will likely mean that they'll try to control your mother. Which means that you've got a new fervor to crack this case.

You figure that the best thing to do will be to go with the other apprentices. Maybe they'll let you go more easily and you can continue to investigate. Granted, Rowanpaw probably still thinks you're weird, but it won't matter what they think in the long run.
