"Uh..." I look down, but, feeling a little brave and not wanting to seem like a coward, I continue, "give me a second to figure this out."

"Ohh, this is gunna be difficult," you say in a pained voice, more to yourself than anything.

"You can do it, kid," Charlie says calmly. "Get out tail down first."

This turns out more difficult than you imagined. Turning around is a pain with only one back foot, and then shifting your weight enough to find a grip almost sends you to the ground. You cling tightly to the inside of your 'cage', cursing yourself, Charlie, and everyone watching.

As you slowly start to edge left, the other cats begin to speak, offering helpful suggestions like "Be careful!" and "No, grab there- not there, over there, to your left!" Their voices raise themselves in order to be heard, until Charlie cheerfully tells them to shut it.

After what feels like forever, you make it to Charlie's door. Her lock is a little harder than yours, thanks to the metal sheet not letting you poke your paw through, and your toes hurt so bad from gripping that you're tempted to just drop and leave, but with a final effort, you pop the cage open.

"Good job, kid!" Charlie says, impressed. "Alright, move before I crush you."

You release your hold on the wires, pushing yourself away. With a missing leg, you can't balance yourself in time, and you crash onto your side. The floor is hard as stone.

Charlie politely jumps past you and turns around. "For a first timer, you're pretty good. You alright?"

I slowly bring myself to my feet, shaking off my pelt before turning to Charlie. "I'll live. Let's go." I said, ignoring the slight pain in my shoulder.

I chuckled. "Cages suck."

"I'll live," I respond tersely, gingerly picking myself off the floor. "Let's go."

I reply,"I don't like this place. Let's just get out of here." The place was too filled with twolegs for comfort, and it didn't help that coming here caused me to lose a leg.

after finding my footing, I chuckled a bit and said "Cages suck,huh?"

Climbing down was pretty damn tiring. Surely a couple of seconds can be spared to catch some breath? "I'm just gunna lie here."
