Chapter Eighteen

Ah, that first kiss. That's the stuff of legends. There's nothing quite like it. Once you have had that first, you can't have another. Most kids don't realize just how much you mourn the feeling of a first kiss until after they've wasted it. Now, yes; you can have a first kiss with a different person, but it's not your first kiss ever. Some speculate that it doesn't count if it's not with your soulmate. Some say that it's good to get it over with because then you've had a little practice.
Personally, my readers, I remember my first kiss well. Honestly, I think it was one of the best day's of my life. Although the boy who ever so gently gave it to me is long gone, I always think fondly of him. How my heart rate went through the roof, and once I'd kissed him I never wanted to stop because it even though it was my first, and even though I was awkward and obviously inexperienced, it was the greatest feeling I had yet to experience. I never wanted to stop kissing him.

Clara... well... she didn't feel the high that I felt.

Clara jumped up and ran faster than she ever had before. She thought of where she could go. Home?
No. Her mom was there and Petey would look for her there.
The park? The theater? Again, no. Too public. She needed to get away. Away from the people. Away from the pressure.
Before Clara knew it, she was standing in front of a dark iron gate. The moon was bright enough for her to read the sign next to the large gate, Middle-Class Burial. It had been years since Clara had come here. The memories she had of her father were faded. If it weren't for the picture her mom kept Clara would have forgotten what he looked like. The details of his face, the creases, the shape of his smile. It was all very hazy, almost non-existent in Clara's mind. The one thing she did remember was his voice. It was always steady.
As Clara moved closer to her fathers grave marker she noticed a figure of a person and next to it, a large object.
Closer still, the object took the shape of a wheel chair, and in it, Opal Jennings; "I'm telling you, she doesn't want this."
"It doesn't matter," the light voice of the person next to her rang firmly, "We are not ready."
"When will you be ready?"
"All in due time."
Clara crouched behind a graver marker just 3 graves in front of her fathers.
"Do you really want your only daughter to marry someone through The System? And to add to that, someone who she doesn't even love?"
Wendy Bracken now turned to face Opal.
So she wasn't at home after all.

Chapter Nineteen

"Mom?!"
"Claire!" Wendy became flustered, "What are you doing here?"
"What were you two talking about?" Clara ignored her mothers question.
"Clara, please. L-let me explain."
"Okay, so explain. What are you talking about so secretively at dads grave?"
"Clarissa..."
Clara, in frustration, turned to the younger person watching their row, "Opal?"
"Yes, Clara?"
"What is going on here?"
Opal took a breath and then explained...

In shock, Clara came to learn that Wendy was actually on the board of the CAS rebellion. Clara thought CAS was just a myth, it was never mentioned in her household. It stands for, Civilians Against the System and it was illegal... Very illegal. When a little girl was born with disabilities, her father, an old supporter of CAS took her to the rebellion base and they accepted her under their wing and were raising her to be their next leader. The little girl grew up having to keep this secret from her mother and older brother. For the past year, CAS had been planning a revolution for the community and its surrounding areas. Wendy Bracken, one of the highest supporters for this revolution was afraid of being too hasty lest any sort of harm come to her only daughter, Clarissa.

The next few months were messy. Something, or someone tipped off the legals and both Wendy and Clara were arrested for affiliation with the CAS rebellion.

"You're going to rot in prison, little girl."
"We'll see about that," she growled.

Okay, now picture this...
I actually have time to write this out in a decent manner and you all have warnings and explanations out the wazoo...
But also...
A sequel where Clara deals with prison life... but then discovers her dad was the actual leader of CAS and is actually still alive and in the same prison as her. They break out together and all hell breaks loose and somehow her mom dies and they return and put the revolution in motion and then Clara reunites with Petey and its awkward at first but then he actually becomes her right-hand-man and they conquer the world together as just friends. *TAKES BREATH*

I know... The ending sucks... But I am not going to have any time as I am moving and I'll have a full time job and college classes to deal with so I know I'll have absolutely no time whatsoever to deal with this story.
I do apologize. This is definitely not my best work but it needed some sort of ending... A sucky one had to do.
