Has anybody else written a full outline for a book?
I'm currently trying to plan out the events in each chapter so I don't get lost and bored with writing because I don't know what happens next. I'd like to know if anybody else has done this and how well it's worked for those who have done it.
Hello there, I'm Slava! It's very nice to meet you and if you're actually reading this, you're an amazing person and I like you. I'm a 17-20 year old female who is currently a part time student in community college with aspirations to become the author of a young adult novel. I thoroughly enjoy roleplaying, metal bands, several anime, crime shows, various documentaries, and automotive repair. Drop me a PM if you'd like to roleplay or just chat!

I never have. I just get a basic idea for the plot, and when all else fails, I throw in a war.

Same here. I have a picture in my head and then I try to get it into words in the computer. If I can't I wait a while and try again.
Hi there! I love anime and manga. Mainly Fairy Tail, Psycho Pass, From Far Away, SNK, Akagami no Shirayuki-Hime, and Akatsuki no Yona.
I really like talking to other people so feel free to pm me
I'm open to most trades, so again, feel free to send me one

I need an agent/editor. LOL I would be totally going towards the editor route tbh, I cant imagine how satisfying it is to be at those conventions and stuff, promoting your book, even though its busy busy busy haha. But of course, thats just how I see it ^^
I don't like people and I hate being the center of attention (I jokingly told her we could say we were co-writers and she could be the face for the book.. but our writing styles are nothing alike LOL)

I've never been good with outlines.. I always change my mind about stuff then get upset with myself for getting so far away from my plot, yet still want to include it.. then end up having to rewrite stuff

@Lissa hello there! ooh you're publishing? best of
luck!
@Slava I'm pretty muh the same as lissa here. I
almost never end up following through with what i was
originally planning. I think the best thing to do is to
have a basic outline for the entire book, and then wing
it from there?

Trying to do NaNo as well for the first time, but i have no idea where I want to start with it
nice, hi. LOL. are you self publishing?
I am thinking about it.. but IDK - I have a friend who was published earlier this year and her editor is interested BUT I am not looking to do all the events and things that she went to to promote her book (she literally went to conventions EVERY weekend for about 4 months straight).. I contemplated just doing the ebook on amazon, but my friend is telling me I really should do the whole ordeal like she did
It is definitely your choice! Research what you think would be best for you and don't feel pressured to do whatever your friend thinks you should. It is your book, you do what you think is best for it!
"You wanna make yourself useful?"
"Not particularly."

Me: Types the letters ch
Phone: Suggests I type children
Me: I meant to say characters but that works too.
I've never done much outlining. My characters never follow the plans I do make, so they certainly wouldn't follow an outline.

i hate outlining so much because i'm impatient and i'll change my mind as i'm writing haha
the only time i made anything close to an outline was for a rewrite of my first novel and that was just to make sure that i rewrote all the important plot points haha
@luminosity, that story is really good! i love the descriptions. it really helps to get the reader immersed into the story! is this it, or are you planning to write more? if there is more, I'd love to read it! ^-^
