I was thinking she'd be the outcast of the thieves, I mean she is a really good theif but she fakes it during school, so like ameture at school, master during the night. So she was chosen to be the messenger for extra credit and she basically is the dog who can get you things...

Or a mix between fence, thief, and buyer. Maybe a parent has one of 'em shops, well known or otherwise. I'm fairly sure back in the day there was a really popular fence lady. Heck, victims of thieves purposely went there. Maybe there's something like that?
