Olivia groaned as her brothers started fighting again in their grandfather's shop. "Stop it!" She growled between her teeth. She brothers stop momentarily, stared at her, and laughed in unison. "Yeah right." Adam said. "Olivia, just shut up already and play with your little Lego set." Derek chimed. Olivia blushed and hid the pocket watch she was reassemlbing in her pocket. She was goign to show it to her grandfather. He was a clock and watch maker and had taught Olivia how to make watches in the first place.
Suddenly, Olivia's face lit up as her grandafather walked out into the light from the basement of his shope. "Grandpa!" She exclaimed as she threw her arms around him. His eyes didn't show any emotion. He didn't even say hi. Olivia backed away. "Heh." Olvia's grandpa said, scratching his head. He looked at Olivia's hands. "What's that?" He asked and pointed to the shiny glint of black metal peeking out from her pocket.
"My watch, grandfather. I had it myself." Olivia's grandfather hastily grabbed the watch from Olivia. His eyes glowed up at the sight of the blakc metal and golden hands that signalled it was seven o' two, exactly.
"Tick tock." Olvia's grandfather said. His eyes narrowed at the watch and he cursed in Italian. "Grandfather, me and Derek and Adam don't speak Italian. What did you say." Olivia's grandfather scowled.
"Stupid girl. You need to learn our language." Olivia's grandfather turned and threw the watch in the trash. Olivia had worked so hard. So hard. How had he just thrown it away? "Grandfather!" Olivia screeched and he turned. "That was a devil watch, Olivia, stupid girl! You brought himw itht the black of night and gold of sun mixed together. Stupid girl. Stupid child." Olivia watched as her grandfather walked out the door of his shop. He held open the door grabbed his keys and locked the door. "Stupid girl." He slammed the door shut. They were locked in.
Olivia started to panic as soon as the voices began. They were in Italian. No one in her family spoke ITalian except grandfather. Olivia made her way over to the trashcan, slowly and tried to see the watch. It was . . . gone? The watch was gone. Olivia backed up and threw herself to the ground. That was impossible. She had been watching the trashcan all the time. NO one had gone near it. NO one. Olivia's eyes flew open. Her brothers. Where were they?
