Other: Ok so this isn't one of the writing prompts and I know that, plus it's really short, but I still really wanted to put it up here c:
She took three steps into the cobweb littered room before the darkness engulfed her. Most people would have been afraid, she knew, but she was far from fear, because she knew the darkness would greet her like an old friend. And she was right. It was only moments before the darkness curled in a loopy drunkenness around her. It twirled and danced around, twisting this way and that, piercing every bit of privacy she had left. It licked up her pain and soaked up her suffering. It clouded her mind until all that was left was a cold, vague, numb sensation that flooded through her body like wildfire. She knew she was home. Unfortunately, her home wasn’t exactly kind. Because, you see, the dark likes to whisper. As inviting as it may seem, it likes to growl. It likes to lie. It likes to deceive and it likes to manipulate.
“Come…” It says.
“Stay…” It says.
“Sleep…” It says.
But in the realm of the dark, in the shadows that lay under beds and behind curtains, sleeping is dangerous. Staying is dangerous. Coming is dangerous. For if you come, you may stay, and if you stay, you may sleep, and if you sleep, you may never wake up. This is what the darkness wants. It wants you to sleep. It wants you to never wake up. Because in the dark, it’s lonely, don’t you think? So the darkness wants friends. The darkness is greedy. It doesn’t want to be alone, so it tricks people. It makes people sleep. And yet, the more people that sleep, the lonelier the darkness becomes. So it convinces more people to come. It convinces more people to stay. It convinces more people to sleep. And it will do whatever it takes to draw you in. It will manipulate you into thinking it’s kind, into thinking it’s the answer to your problems, into thinking it’s the only family you’ve got.
So of course the darkness would greet her like an old friend, because she had come, she was staying, and she was planning on sleeping. Just one more young girl to add to the collection. One more person to allow the darkness to make believe it isn’t lonely anymore. That’s all the darkness cares about. That’s all the darkness has ever cared about. I would know, I’ve been sitting here since the beginning. I was the first friend the darkness attempted to make. It almost worked. Yet, I refused to sleep, but I had come, and I had stayed, and now, I knew I could never leave.

Word Count: 1,178
Other: This one's a little different but I kind of really wanted to try writing in the perspective of a villain. Also I did a repeating thing and I'm not sure I like it...also sorry it's been so long but schools out for now so hopefully i'll get a lot more of these done c:
“You can’t just kill people!” The man stood covered in blood, regretting the words that had just escaped his mouth.
He stood staring at the sorceress, at me, with wavering eyes.
He shouldn’t have said it. He knew it, and I knew it.
He was going to pay for it, of course he would pay for it, I am one that believes in discipline. He knew that as well. But I was curious. Curious as to where he was going with this.
I dropped the head that I held in my hand, a man I had just beheaded. He wasn’t important so it was fine. I didn’t see what Aero’s issue was, I was curious to find out.
“What did you just say?” I asked, coldly, allowing venom to seep into the frost of my voice.
He looked at me, fear dancing behind his eyes, as he wavered on what to do. He bit his lip, but after a moment’s pause, he spoke again. This time, he didn’t yell. He spoke calmly.
“You…you can’t just go around murdering whoever you want…” His gaze dropped from mine as he spoke the words.
My eyes narrowed in interest.
“And why is that?” I asked.
“Because, well, these people. Each one of them had goals, hopes, wishes, dreams. Each one of them had family they probably were annoyed with, or pets they were going to go walk. Each one of them was probably thinking about some task they had to do in the coming days, or an event they were planning for, or maybe what they would surprise their wife or children with for their birthdays. Each one had chores they knew they had to do, and even if they didn’t want to do those chores, or plan those events, or go home to those family members, they were looking forward to something. One more day of peace and quiet. A piece of pie before starting the house work. An old-time friend they were going to get to see at this event. Everyone of them wanted to do something. Each one of them was innocent and only wanted to live their lives.” Aero stopped.
There was a plead in his eyes. Something I don’t think I ever saw there before. He was actually pleading with me. I pondered this a moment.
“You’re telling me, this man,” I pointed to the head I had just dropped from my grasp “May have been going home to annoying family members or chores or events he didn’t want to go to?”
“Well, uh, I guess…”
“Well then I did him a favour.” I kicked the head and it rolled a couple feet away.
“I think you, uh, missed the point.” Aero spoke.
I looked up at him, with a steely gaze.
“You’ve always been such a good little soldier Aero, always following my directions and orders without question. Without even a raise of your eyebrow. What changed?” My tone was cold, calculating and I stepped towards him, slowly, confidently, as I spoke.
This seemed to have caught him off guard. He shifted his weight from foot to foot and starred at his feet.
“Nothing.” He spoke barely above a whimper.
“Pardon me?” I asked, only a few feet away from him.
“Nothing.” He replied, lifting his gaze back up at me.
The plead was gone from his eyes, and was replaced by the man I had come to know. A cold, hardened stare masked his face and the kindness, the pity, was all but a bad dream. But he had still acted out. And there was still a reason.
And I was about to find out why. He knew it, and I knew it.
I stepped up until I was inches from his face. He was taller than me, but I was so much more powerful that he wouldn’t dare strike out.
“See, that’s the thing,” I reached up and brushed my fingers under his chin so he was staring directly at my eyes “I don’t believe you.”
My voice was soft, but it was fake. He knew it, and I knew it.
“So here’s my problem Aero, you acted out against me, and now you won’t tell me why…that puts me in a very sticky situation, you see? You have been a good soldier and I would like to keep you if I can, but lying isn’t a trait that I like to see in my soldiers.” I walked slowly around him, tracing my fingers across his shoulders as I stepped with careful, planned movements.
I spoke sweetly, but it was wicked. He knew it, and I knew it.
He stood stick straight beside me, staring off into the distance almost as though he were a robot. Like a soldier.
That’s when I noticed it. A small paper corner sticking out of the pocket of his blood-soaked jeans.
“Well, well, well. What do we have here?” I reached over and pulled the paper out of his pocket and watch as he flinched, leaving, only for a second, from his perfect robot stance.
But the piece of paper wasn’t a piece of paper at all. It was a picture. In the picture, he stood next to a pretty, young woman and in her arms, she held a baby. Couldn’t be more than a couple of months old. In the photo, Aero was staring down at the child with more love and compassion then I had ever seen someone hold. I could tell the picture was recent. It wasn’t hard to tell.
“Ah. I see. Aero had gone behind my back and started a family…how sweet.” I began staring at him with glinting, cold eyes and a soft cruel smile.
“Aero can you tell me what the number one code of requirement is?” I asked in a sickly-sweet voice.
At this, he flinched once more. This time, his robot stance wasn’t as quickly reclaimed.
“Number one code of requirement states that a soldier is not to have any other relationships with any other humans other than those of his or her own squad. This includes but is not limited to; emotional connections, friends, wives, children, parents, or relatives.” He stated it word for word. Perfectly.
“And tell me Aero, does this or does this not, break that number one code of requirement?” I asked, holding out the photo to him.
“It does ma’am.” He replied, once more with his robot monotone voice.
I almost didn’t want to do it. But, I had to. He knew it, and I knew it.
Stuffing the picture in the pocket of my long, blood stained gown, I reached up, took both side of his head and with a quick snap, Aero fell to the ground.
I walked away from the field, where Aero lay among the hundreds of bodies of people we had killed within the last hour or so. Aero was now as meaningless to me as the rest of those bodies.
Just one more body count to add to the list. He knew it, and I knew it.
