"Backflipping out of trees," you say, deadpan. "Knotpaw is particularly skilled at it. Join us, won't you?"

Cinderpaw scowls at you, but just turns to Knotpaw and says, "You're supposed to be helping me with hunting."

"Not...technically," the patched molly replies quietly. "I was just taking a break, anyway."

"Well, what good are you? Did you even catch anything?"

Knotpaw fidgets a little. "I...no. I just started-"

"A few minutes ago." Cinderpaw shakes her head. "And you're already taking a break. Leave you alone for a minute and you just flop over and sun yourself."

"As if you're so much better," Knotpaw mumbles, and covers her mouth like she's trying to hide what she said.

Cinderpaw glares her down, growling, "Pardon?"

"Nothing." Knotpaw says quickly, and looks to the floor. "I'll be up and hunting in a second. I was just talking with Rookpaw, is all."

Cinderpaw stares at her for a moment, then turns and heads back into the woods, saying over her shoulder, "Bring me something."

You look over at Knotpaw, who's quietly pawing at the ground, making a little dirt pile, and purposely avoiding looking at you.

"Knotpaw-" you begin.

"Please don't start on the 'standing up' thing," she says. "I get it, alright, but...it's hard."
