It took Pantherstar and many others by surprise when all at once ten of HazeClan's members announced they where heavy with kits. Twigstorm had confirmed each one of them, even stating how close each litter would be born roughly around the same time. It didn't help when many found out that Applefall, the clan's other medicine cat announced she was due as well. When the day finally came for each queen to have have their kits it seemed to come all in one massive wave. Twigstorm ran around the nursery, doing his best to assist each queen, feeling bad for throwing young newly appointed Cloudypaw in to the ring. However the medicine cat was pleased that Darkflower offered to assist by fetching herbs if needed. He was even impressed that despite being due herself, Applefall did her best to do her duties as medicine cat.

---

"Swivelspear... Take care of my babies..." Windsong meowed softly, tears welding up in the she-cats eyes. The queen looked down at her newborns, her strength fading quickly. With a small shaky sigh, the once perky warrior gently moved her newborn kits next to Swivelspear before collapsing beside the black and white she-cat. "Windsong!" Swivelspear cried out, stretching out a paw to place on the female beside her. The black and white queen curled gently up around her best friend's kits protectively as she barley touched Windsong's body. The queen's life had already slipped away shortly after giving her kits to Swivelspear, but yet WIndsong's spirit remained behind for a bit.

With a sad sigh Windsong watched as Swivelspear gave birth to her kits, proud and grateful of the feisty black and white she-cat. Although both grief stricken and exhausted from bringing her own kits into the world, Swivelspear made sure each kit was fed and warm. "Did... Did she get to name them before she..." Badgerstrike meowed softly as he stepped back into the nursery. The black and white tom and a few other warriors carried Windsong's body out into the camp clearing so others may grieve and to spare Swivelspear any more pain of looking at her dead best friend. With a heavy sigh, Swivelspear gave a small shake of her head before speaking. "N-no..." With yet another heavy sigh, the black and white female glanced down at all ten newborns all nestled up against her and sleeping peacefully. "Then... Let's name them together." Badgerstrike meowed, sitting down next to Swivelspear and looking at the kits as well. "Windsong... I know your close by... I promise we will raise these kits as our own. In honor of you we will name one Gustkit." Swivelspear meowed, closing her eyes briefly before her and Badgerstrike named the rest of the kits.

In the end the black and white due ended up naming all ten kits quickly, being able to settle on names for each kit quickly. With the nursery finally settling down, and each queen curled up with their new born kits, and settled in for the night. Driftsnow lied curled up in one of the nests, his tail tightly curled around his new kits after getting them back from Orangesky. The tom looked down at them, grief in his eyes as they would never know their beautiful mother. "Thank you... For taking in Pebbleblossom and my mother's kits... I'll do my best to make sure you all are taken care of to help each little one thrive." Driftsnow meowed, looking up and looking at each queen. Each queen gave a small nod and a faint smile. "Of course Driftsnow... Say. Let me introduce you to your new siblings and their future best friends." Swivelspear chuckled lightly, trying to lighten the mood.

Driftsnow smiled softly and gave a small nod, leaning forward a bit to take a look at the ten kits nestled up against Swivelspear. With a small nod, Swivelspear started from the left and made her way all the way over to the right. "Let's start with this lanky dusty brown female. This is Coldkit. She already seems very determined and not putting up with the others' crap. Next we have little Pikekit, he seems very gentle and sticks close to Coldkit. Then next to him his little Cranekit. She and Pikekit are just about the same. Sweet little kits. Finally is Webkit. A feisty female who will be a headache for us all when she gets older. Those are your new sisters and brother. Now we move on over to Badgerstrike and I's second litter. I'd likely to proudly introduce you to Fangkit, he's the largest boy we have and very protective and in charge kind of boy. Next to him his little Gustkit... We... We named him after Windsong..." Swivelspear meowed, pausing for a moment before speaking once more. "... Flintkit, he seems pretty attached to feisty Sharpkit. She and Fangkit often don't get along already. Next we have sweet Pansykit... She sadly ended up with a twisted paw, but we will love her no matter what. Finally we come to Burrowkit... He likes to snuggle against me and everyone else here." Swivelspear meowed, letting out a heavy sigh and smiling.

Driftsnow looked at her wide eyed before letting out a small laugh. "Well I guess it's my turn to introduce you to my kits. The first four are all girls... Bubblekit, Streamkit... Drizzlekit... Wait no then it goes Bluekit then Drizzlekit." Driftsnow meowed, slightly chuckling and giving a small shake of his head. "These girls are already giving me headaches. I don''t know how you queens do it." He meowed, smiling though while he spoke. "Anyways the last two are males. Little one is Tealkit and next to him and Tortoisekit." The single father meowed, gazing proudly down at his kits. "You will do well Driftsnow. Besides you have us here to help. I suggest you get some rest for now until the little ones decide to to wake you up for a meal in the middle of the night. I'm gonna do the same as well. Trust me you'll never sleep again." Swivelspear meowed.

The past few moons had been full of chaos, from an en explosion of kits to a deadly outbreak of a new sickness called Mint-cough. Pantherstar paced back and forth, hidden safely inside her den from her clan mates. They didn't need to see their leader stressed like she was, it would only make matters worse. Although grateful for all the new kits to make HazeClan thrive, Pantherstar was worried how would the clan manage to hunt enough prey for every cat. It didn't help when many of the young warriors had all given birth roughly around the same time. Then came the deadly Mint-cough, in which Twigstorm and Pantherstar first thought it to be green-cough. However upon giving the few infected cats catmint, they soon later discovered just how dangerous and destructive the new sickness was. Cypressflight's painful expression flashed inside Pantherstar's mind, causing the large fluffy gray and white she-cat to flinch. It was terrible to see such a young warrior suffer so much pain, spending her final moments in agony until finally passing over to the Dark Forest. Next was Stonesong and Warblercall, the two toms lasting only a few days longer then Cypressflight before they two succumbed to Mint-cough. Although she too had suffered from the sickness, she had only lost two lives thus far, and Pantherstar feared she would watch the rest of HazeClan die out long before she lost her final life.

It had become heartbreaking for Pantherstar to stand in front of her clan, to put on a brave face and tell them that they would make it through when she herself wasn't sure that they would. The clan had buried so many, even once bright and lively kits. It was dark times for HazeClan and many began losing hope, spending most of their time with loved ones, waiting for their time to come. The once proud and friendly clan now lied broken and beaten, cutting almost all contact with outsiders. All hope seemed lost for the clan, that was until one fateful night young Cloudypaw received life saving information from former medicine cat Ashfang. The young black and white tom was confused at first, but knew the starry tom was there for a reason. "You know Cloudypaw, it's been moons since I passed over but I never did give up watching over HazeClan." Ashfang meowed softly. The young tom sat there, trying to rack his brain on who the tom before him could be. Sensing the young apprentice's confusion, Ashfang let out a small laugh. "Oh where are my manors. I'm Ashfang. I use to be one of HazeClan's medicine cats." he meowed.

Cloudypaw gave a small nod, the two toms sitting in silence for a moment before Ashfang finally spoke again. "We didn't know what would cure Mint-cough until now. We had to do a lot of traveling among other ancestors, trying to figure out if any other clan had a run in with it. I'm sorry it took so long, but we managed to come across some old tribe ancestors that had a run in with Mint-cough. The rest of our HazeClan ancestors have allowed me to come and deliver the cure to you." "You guys came across a cure!? Please tell me, so I can try to save our clan before the rest of us die out... SO many.... So many of us have already joined you and everyone else in the Dark Forest..." Cloudypaw meowed, his voice full of worry. Ashfang gave a small nod, sensing the good from young Cloudypaw. "Of course... I know you all will do your best to save our great clan. We where told to mix lovage, bright eye, borage, and honey. It's told to cure mint cough. You already know catmint just makes it worse... It's said to be a strain of green-cough that grew immune to catmint. Next time... let's hope there isn't one, but just in case there is. You guys must wait a whole day to tell if its green-cough or mint-cough. Although very similar, mint-caugh makes cats unable to stand and their brain to mix up simple details. Just keep that in mind for next leaf-bare. For now though... Cloudypaw you must go and save our clan. Farewell." the large gray tabby meowed, his silhouette vanishing and leaving Cloudypaw all alone.

---

A moon past and with the given cure, HazeClan was able to slowly regain footing. Although they did loose 40 cats during the dark era. Now slowly but surely the clan was able to return to their happy and friendly selves, once again mingling with their friends from other clans. Pantherstar sat on top of the High Rock, her eyes gazing out across the camp a small content sigh escaping her muzzle. "You know... It's good to see HazeClan is in good paws. I was afraid of what would happen to it when my time came. It seems as if no matter what darkness they go through, your always there fighting for them." A familiar voice meowed. Startled, the large fluffy gray and white she-cat jumped a bit and looked to her right. There sat a familiar figure, but with stars in his pelt this time. "H-hazestar?" Pantherstar meowed, almost as in disbelief the tabby leader was there. The gray tabby laughed and gave a small nod of his head before speaking once more. "Who else silly?" he asked, gently poking Pantherstar's nose with his paw. "I just wanted to show myself to you and thank you. You have done so much for my clan... I mean our clan. They couldn't have had a better leader. Try to reasure every cat that their loved ones are being well taken care of. Owlstorm and the others are still watching over you. I myself am still here as well, but I walk among you. So when ever your feeling like your not doing well and you feel a small gust of cold wind, remember that's me reassuring you that your doing a fantastic job." Hazestar meowed, gently touching noses with the large fluffy she-cat before fading just as fast as he had appeared beside her.

With the calming of the storm, Jayfur had decided to take his six daughters out for a small walk. It had been awhile since he had spent time with just his girls. The tom missed Woodbloom greatly, but had promised to visit her once things had gotten under wraps again. For now Jayfur would spend the day with his girls, getting to know them better before they grew up and went on with their lives. The tom watched as his daughters walked and jumped in front of him, their eyes sparkling with excitement. A sense of pride and joy wash over the warrior, grinning slightly. "It's so good to have you girls here with me to complete your training. Although I'm sure your mother is worried sick about you guys." Jayfur meowed, sightly chuckling. "Well I'm sure mother is just fine! I mean we get to explore HazeClan now too!" Finchpaw pipped up. "Ya!" Willowpaw meowed after Finchpaw. The two she-cats exchanged looks before tackling one another and beginning to play fight. It didn't take long for both Sparrowpaw and Twigpaw to join, however both Dahliapaw and Wrenpaw remained standing next to their father Jayfur. "Their kinda crazy aren't they?" Dahliapaw meowed, letting out a laugh and gently nudging Wrenpaw. Letting out a small chuckle, Wrenpaw gave a small nod. "I guess... But doesn't that mean we're crazy too?" she asked, tilting her head a bit. Jayfur listened and watched his daughters, letting out a laugh causing all six of them to stop and look at him. "You girls are adorable. So much like your mother and yet your own cat in your only little ways. Come on. Let's keep going." Jayfur meowed, flicking his tail and padding onward.

All six apprentices found their footing and chased after the father, giggling and laughing the whole way. Smirking a bit the warrior took off in a full sprint, knowing that the girls would be able to keep up. "Catch me if you can!" Jayfur called out over his shoulders, making sure to look back and check on the girls every once in a while. At one point when the tom turned around he only noticed that Wrenpaw and Dahliapaw where trailing him. Startled, Jayfur froze in his tracks looking around for the other four apprentices. "Girls!?" Jayfur called out, his heart beginning to race and panic starting to set in. "Now!" Dahliapaw shouted, a smirk forming on her's and Wrenpaw's faces. In a flash four other streaks of fur emerged from their hidden places and launched themselves at Jayfur. On top of that both Dahliapaw and Wrenpaw also attacked Jayfur. With all six of the apprentices throwing themselves at Jayfur, the tom lost his footing and fell to the ground. "We win!" Sparrowpaw purred, a wide grin on the young she-cat's face. Giggeling, Twigpaw gave a small nodd, gently poking Jayfur's nose. "And the powerful six strike again." Twigpaw giggled once more.

Although it had been only a few short moons since the mass loss of many cats in HazeClan, Pantherstar was still beating herself up. She felt like she had failed her clan, let everyone down, but most of all she no longer felt like she deserved to be called leader. To the public, Pantherstar put on a face pretending everything was alright, but when she retired to her den at night she became a mess. However as much as she tried to hide it, her mood change did not go unnoticed by one particular she-cat. Turtledove. Only a mother could tell when their kit wasn't acting right, and thus Pantherstar's behavior worried Turtledove. Like any normal mother, sweet Turtledove decided to confront her daughter and surprise her with dinner that night. "Sweet Pantherstar my darling little star." the fluffy she-cat cooed. The other fluffy she-cat turned to face her mother, startled by the sudden appearance of another cat. With a heavy sigh and a shake of her, Pantherstar turned away from her mother once again. With a flick of her large fluffy tail, Pantherstar tried to shoo her mother away. "Not now mother..." Pantherstar meowed softly. Letting out a smallchuckle, Turtledove stepped closer to her daughter and nuzzled her and began to groom her. "Oh hush it my little star. You can't get ride of me. I know you've been beating yourself up over the past few moons because of everything with the Mint cough wipe out... I know it's hard. It hit us all hard, but no cat is blaming you. You did what you could. You saved us from the dark ages. They look up to you." Turtledove meowed, sitting next to Pantherstar and pulling the she-cat close to her. "Mother please... I let everyone down..." Pantherstar meowed, giving a small shake of her head and her ears dropping.

"Hush my little star. You may see yourself as unfit to lead, but darling your a great leader. You put the clan way before yourself, I mean you refused medical help because at the time they didn't have enough herbs. Your always helping out the other queens and myself, making sure their well taken care of. Pantherstar, my dear little star, if it wasn't for you far more lives would have been lost under Buzzardflight's reign. If it hadn't been for your group and you, who knows if we would have all these glorious kits we have now. I know it's hard to understand, but I know one day your gonna realize that. With that I will leave you alone." Turtledove purred, giving her daughter an affectionate lick on the cheek before standing and taking her leave. As if on cue a starry figured appeared next to Pantherstar, giving the young she-cat a gentle nudge. "How many times do I have to tell you your an excellent replacement... no an excellent successor. Huh Pantherstar?" Hazestar meowed. The fluffy gray and white she-cat jumped once more, and let out a small curse under her breathe. The former leader let out a laugh and gave a small shake of his head. "That never gets old... I'm sorry. However your mother is right Pantherstar. You shouldn't beat yourself up. I understand it's been tough, I too have had my fair share of toughness. Do you remember the drought way back when you where just an apprentice?" the tom asked. Pantherstar gave a small nod, remembering the tough times, the loss of her first love Softpaw. "Y-yes... I remember" she meowed softly. "It had me doubting my skills as a leader at the time too... But no one blamed me for it... They understood that I did what I could. Your doing just fine, heck even better then I at the time. Please do not fret. I shall be taking my leave once again. I'm always around the corner if you need me." Hazestar purred, his figure disappearing quickly as it had appeared.

---

After speaking with Pantherstar, the tabby leader wondered the moors of HazeClan his heart tugging him towards QuickClan. Although he spent most of his time there in his afterlife Hazestar haden't been there in some time due to the chaos happening in HazeClan. However now, something was telling him that he was needed in QuickClan. The tom rushed to QuickClan, feeling like his paws couldn't carry him fast enough. The gray tabby tom watched in horror as cats he knew and loved seemed to drop one bye one. It was in times like this Hazestar wished he was still alive, hoping maybe then he would be able to prevent tragic deaths like the ones he witnessed. It was hard for him to sit, more like lurk in the afterlife and watching QuickClan suffer so much. It wasn't until Redstar's final death when Hazestar truely felt his heart be ripped from his chest. "I-I...Redstar... I'm sorry." The tom meowed, his voice cracking as tears brimmed at the corners of his eyes.

During the majority of his life, Hazestar was fairly level headed, that was until it came to Redstar. Hazestar sat in silence next to Redstar's body his eyes dull of full of sorrow. Although he wasn't alive anymore, he had to share respects for his best friend, make sure his second home was going to be alright. Hazestar had no worries that Cyanslash would be an excellent leader, the tom always seemed to be level headed with his heart in the right place. "Although your gone... I still won't be moving on. Not until Cardinalheart and Ploverpaw pass on themselves. Although they do have a lot of life ahead of them I pray..." Hazestar meowed, knowing no cat would hear him. "I hope your doing well in StarClan my friend... One day I'm sure our paths will cross again... I love you." he meowed, pressing his nose into Redstar's lifeless body before his starry figure disappeared.

The news of Redstar's passing spread through HazeClan like wildfire, causing many of the younger apprentices and kits to worry. However deep down Pantherstar knew QuickClan wouldn't be beaten down for long. When Falconflight and Snakespots explained Cyanstar's plan about getting GroveClan, QuickCLan, and HazeCLan together to take down Nolan and his group, Pantherstar didn't hesitate to say yes. "You have HazeClan at your side. I'll round up some strong warriors and we will head out. Please let Cyanstar we will be on our way." The large fluffy she-cat meowed. With that the two toms gave a small nod and headed out out of HazeClan's camp, on their way back home. Pantherstar stood glued to her spot for a moment, letting everything sink in before turning and disappearing into her den. Although she had faced many challenges before, including the battle of HazeClan versus Buzzardflight, Pantherstar felt unsure of herself. Knowing she was doing the right thing for helping out her clan's ally, she also felt like she wouldn't be good enough. "Hazest-" Pantherstar began, her voice cutting off as the former leader's starry pelt appeared before her. Rage burning brightly in the tom's eyes as he hazed upon her. "Lets do this... Pantherstar I have faith in you, but I do have a favor to ask of you. However it comes with a price." Hazestar meowed. With a small nod Pantherstar stepped forward. "Anything to help save our friends... no our family." She meowed. With a nod Hazestar let out a heavy sigh before closing his eyes for a moment. "Before the battle, let me take over your body. You will still be aware of everything just more sitting int he background and watching things unfold. I want revenge for losing Redstar and I know you understand where I'm coming from. However this will coast you one of your lives. I understand if this changes your mind." Hazestar explained. The large gray and white she-cat shook her head no, not minding the risk. Sure she was a skilled fighter on her own, but having Hazestar there would put her mind more at ease then doing it by herself. "I accept. And maybe then you can cross over..." Pantherstar meowed. Hazestar stood in silence, but gave a small nod, knowing that he had held on for some time now. What Pantherstar spoke was true, maybe upon getting his revenge he could cross over and watch all three clans from afar, only showing himself in their drams when needed.

The two leaders stood there in silence before Pantherstar spoke again. "We can't keep them waiting any longer... It's time I go announce who will be coming." With that, the she-cat gave a small nod and exited her den. Hazestar stood there fro a moment longer before disappearing, only to reappear next to Pantherstar at the top of the High Rock. Although no other cat could see him, he gazed down at the rest of HazeClan. He would be right next to Pantherstar every step of the way, that was until his time came to cross over. Inhaling deeply, Pantherstar let out a yowl to gather the clan to make her announcement. "The time has come to save our friends and family in QuickClan. With the loss of Redstar and the possibility of lossing their home, Cyanstar as asked both GroveClan and our clan to join them in reclaiming their home. I have decided on who will be joining us in battle and a small pawful of those who will be staying in QuickClan camp to help out there. Although I know many of you wish to come as well, I need you to stay behind and keep things moving." She explained. With a small glance down at Starlingfligh and Jayfur, Pantherstar made a direct comment to them. "Starlingflight and Jayfur, you two have been my most trusted allies and thus you will remain here. If for some reason I do not make it back I want you to move forward and carry HazeClan in to the future. I have faith in you two." She meowed, giving each tom a small smile before lifting her head up high once again to look out across the clan. "Marshpool, Darkflower, Cloudypaw, and Inkfire, I want you four to come and stay in QuickClan camp offering your help to anyone who needs it. Now for those who will be joining me in battle will be Turtledove, Tallwhisker, Wraith, Cougaurshadow, Brightgaze, Chestnutblaze, Heavystep, Badgerstrike, and Ospreytalon. Make sure to say your goodbyes and pray that we return safely." She meowed, dipping her head a bit before jumping down the rock side to join her clan mates.

---

With the announcement of who would be battling alongside the QuickClan and GroveClan cats, many of HazeClan cats broke off into groups. With a heavy sigh Pantherstar watched as her clan mates embraced one another, saying their goodbyes and wishing for one another's safe return. Turtdledove stood next to her daughter, gently pressing herself against her daughter. Although scared of the unknown, Turtledove was ready to fight and give it her all. Not only was HazeClan her home, but so was QuickCla and thus she had to fight to protect them. Her mind thought back to when she first met both Falconflight and Cyanstar, the time she offered to give the two toms kits of their own, the four wonderful kits that she had for them, taking in Kestrelpaw and Frogpaw as her own, and meeting Snakespots. Tutrtledove smiled, determined to keep those happy memories alive, determined to keep them all smiling. "My little star, If something where to happen to be today, promise me you'll make sure to visit your siblings and the others. Make sure to take care of them for me." Turtledove meowed softly. Pantherstar stiffened, her head quickly snapping around to face her mother's. "Mother don't talk like that. I vow nothing will happen to you." Pantherstar meowed, a mix of emotions crashing down over the leader. Turtledove gave a small shake of her head, a small smile on her face. "Just promise me please. Just in case." she urged. With a heavy sigh Pantherstar gave a small nod. Smiling, Turtledove embraced Pantherstar giving her a few licks between the ears. "Thank you..." Turtledove whispered.

On the other side of the camp, near the nursery Badgerstrike Ospreytalon said good bye to their mates and kits. Swivelspear glared at Badgerstrike, although her eyes shown with love and worry. "You both better come back, but you most of all better watch over our son Badgerstrike." Swivelspear meowed, embracing both toms before stepping back and wrapping her tail around her paws. "You both have a family to return to. We need you. Please don't be reckless, and Ospreytalon..." Swivelspear meowed, pausing for a moment. "Make sure to watch your father's back. He isn't as young as he use to be." she teased, causing the small group to laugh for a moment. "What your mother say is true though my love. You have us to return to...Please... Be careful." Applefall meowed, tears welding up in the corners of her eyes as she buried her face into Ospreytalon's fur. Badgerstrike gave a small sigh and nuzzled Swivelspear before whispering to her. "We will return... I promise Swivelspear."

A yowl from Pantherstar rung out across camp signaling it was time, with a heavy sighs cats said their finale good byes before gathering around Pantherstar. With one last look to make sure every cat was ready, the large she-cat gave a small nod and headed out. The patrol made their way down to the lake, before heading the open moors that connected HazeClan to QuickClan. Along the way the faint scent of GroveClan entered Pantherstar's nose. With a small nod, Pantherstar paused and shouted over her should so all cats could hear. "Looks like GroveClan has already passed this way. They must be there already. No time to watse." she meowed, quickening the pace a bit. As the patrol moved forward, they paused at the stream so every cat could catch their breath and quench their thirst. Although not waiting to long, the HazeClan patrol pushed forward, crossing the border between HazeClan and QuickClan.

---

When the Hazeclan patrol arrived, Tallpeak met Pantherstar, expressing her thanks that they had come, before leading the Hazeclan leader to where Cyanstar had already taken Badgerstar and Lionheart to his den to begin discussing the night ahead. In the meantime, the Quickclan cats were just as welcoming with the Hazeclan patrol as they were with Groveclan, though it was clear that one cat in particularly was well-liked by Quickclan. Kestrelpaw was the first to spot a familiar pelt, and she charged over, with Frogpaw hot on her heels. "Turtledove!" she cried out, her long legs carrying her to the Hazeclan molly who had taken care of her for several moons. Kestrelpaw jumped from paw to paw, telling turtledove a rapid-fire story, and Frogpaw took the chance to tuck himself against Turtledove's flank. From there, it was only a matter of time until Dovepaw and Finchpaw barreled forward through the gathered warriors in the clearing, Cricketpaw and Dandelionpaw not far behind, joined by Falconflight and Snakespots. Falconflight leaned forward first, pressing his cheek affectionately to Turtledove's. "They were hoping you were coming, but I told them not to get their hopes up." he meowed. "I had to come," Turtledove replied, leaning down to nuzzle Cricketpaw and Dovepaw in turn when they moved forward to greet her. "My little stars, you've been busy growing up, I see," she added, and Finchpaw purred, puffing out her chest. "Dad says that we're going to be warriors soon. soon we'll be able to fight with you," Finchpaw said, and Kestrelpaw was quick to join in. "Us too! I've grown too! dad says I'm going to be one of the fastest and tallest cats in the clans if I keep growing," Kestrelpaw was saying, though Frogpaw rolled his head and bumped his shoulder against his sister's. "Yeah but you're not going to grow forever," he said in return, and the pair dissolved quickly into bickering back and forth, during which Falconflight stepped back and Snakespots moved forward to greet Turtledove. The lanky QuickClan tom ducked his head shyly before touching his nose to Turtledove's. "Thank you for coming. It's good to see you again, I just wish... it wasn't for this," he said, somberly, before he managed a tight smile. "When all this is over, maybe I could take Kestrelpaw and Frogpaw to Hazeclan to visit you for a little while. It might be good for them to see where Oceansplash was buried," he said. Turtledove's voice was sweet as honey and soothing when her fur brushed Snakespots'. "Of course, I've missed my little stars. and it's good to see you again too," she said, and Snakespots couldn't help the way he perked up at her comment. "A visit sounds nice." "Great!" Snakespots said, only to wince at the way his voice sounded. too eager, too ready. He cleared his throat and ducked his head again. "Anyway," he said after a moment, looking down at his own kits who continued to bicker. "You need to tell me how's Hazeclan these days? anything exciting happen recently?" he asked, content to listen to Turtledove speak, soothed in the face of the battle by her calming presence, the steadiness in her tone, the knowledge that his own kits would be away from the fighting and would be safe in the camp.

Across the way Cloudypaw stood close to Darkflower, his eyes watching the scene unfold before him. He was home and yet he wasn't. The young medicine cat apprentice remembered stories Rookwatcher and Buzzardstar would tell him about QuickClan, the clan Zipperpaw and himself had come from. The black and white tom was curious and yet scared all at the same time, unaware if he would be accepted by QuickClan. The stories both Rookwatcher and Buzzardstar told didn't seem to add up, it was clear that QuickClan was loving clan and wouldn't just have kicked Rookwatcher and two kits out for any reason. Sensing the young tom's wariness, Darkflower let out a small purr and gently nudged him. "It's going to be alright Cloudypaw... Come. Let's go see if Alpinemask and the others need any help. I'm sure once the battle starts their gonna have their paws full. Besides this gives you time to know how their having their stuff lied out so when the battle does start you have a general idea of where to find things. I have faith in you." Darkflower purred, leading the way to the QuickClan medicine cat den. Not only was she ready to help, but she had been wanting to see Alpinemask again since their last meeting at the last gathering. Her heart fluttered at the thought of surprising the tom with her showing up.

A familiar scent crossed Alpinemask's nose, causing the tom cat to turn and face a familiar she-cat. There she stood, her face lighting up at the sigh of seeing him. Alpinemask shyly looked away, a small smile on his face as Darkflower padded closer to him. "It's so good to see you again Alpinemask." the black she-cat purred gently touching noses with the medicine cat. A wave of happiness crashed down over Alpinemask, closing his eyes for a brief moment when their noses touched. He was happy to see her until it dawned on him why she was here. His mind began to race with a million questions, hoping the HazeClan warrior wasn't here to fight in the battle. If Darkflower was here to partake in the fight, Alpinemask knew he wouldn't be able to keep his thoughts straight. "W-what are you doing here?" the tom asked, trying to remain calm. Letting out a small purr, Darkflower shook her head a bit. "I promise Alpinemask. You have nothing to worry about. Cloudypaw and myself are here to offer help. I may not be a medicine cat, but I have been taught the herbs and basic medical skills." she purred. As if on cue, Cloudypaw emerged from behind Darkflower, giving Alpinemask a small nod. The black and white tom remembered other medicine cat from his first gathering, and the relationship the due had. Alpinemask glanced down at Cloudypaw before returning his gaze to Darkflower. "It's good to have you both here then. The more paws to help the better. Thank you." he meowed, causing Darkflower to let out another purr. Alpinemask couldn't help but feel more at ease with the pretty black she-cat there to help.

The time came when the three clans came together as one, cats from all three clans stood mixed among one another, awaiting for their next direction. It was until finally Cyanstar announced the plan and lead the way to Nolan and his gang. Lead by three powerful leaders, the clans silently mad their way closer and closer until signaled to get into position. With one final exchange between the three leaders, HazeClan took off left and GroveClan took off right, leaving QuickClan alone in the middle. From their hiding spot each clan watched and waited for Cyanstar's signal, each cat itching to jump in and defend their ally. It was when Cyanstar announced for QuickClan to attack did both HazeClan and Groveclan explode into the area, cats setting their sights on their enemies and attacking. Pantherstar made her way through the sea of cats, engaging in battle with on of Nolan's lackeys. The she-cat and an orange tabby tom rolled around locked in battle for a while until Pantherstar felt the tom cat's body go limp. Rising to her paws Pantherstar took a moment to get her bearings together before turning to face Hazestar's ghost. With a small nod, Pantherstar braced herself as the former leader's spirit entered her body. "Together we fight." Hazestar's voice echoed.

With Hazestar now in control of her every movement, Pantherstar felt like a passenger in her own body watching as events began to unfold in front of her. At one point she spotted Snakespots of QuickClan and Turtledove battling along side one another, each taking their turn to land a hit on an attacking enemy. The duo where a sight to behold, Snakespots aiming high as Turtledove aimed low. The two seemed to be doing well, until a small rush of cats ganged up on them. Although not in control, she felt her body lurch forward towards the pair, only to stop upon seeing Badgerstar of GroveClan jump in to help them. The three cats battled alongside one another, getting the group down. Upon thinning the numbers Badgerstar gave the duo a small nod before dashing off to help the next cat in need. With Hazestar in control, a surge of power and drive took over Pantherstar, sending the she-cat forward into battle.

On the other side of the chaos struggled a young Chestnutblaze, the young warrior had been ambushed by a small party of cats and was quickly losing hope. Although greatly out numbered, the tom kept pushing forward, doing his best to fend off the rouges despite bleeding from many open wounds on his body. It looked bleak for the young tom, and he was ready to go out swinging until a long haired silver tabby broke through. The fluffy tom cat battled alongside Chestnutblaze until each cat had been sent off fleeing or dead at their paws. Turning to face the young warrior the older warrior took one look at Chestnutblaze before speaking. "Go see the medicine cats. You won't be doing any of the clans any good in that state." the tom meowed. Without waiting for Chestnutblaze's response, the silver tabby dove right back in to battle, leaving young Chestnutblaze all alone. With a small nod, knowing the tom was right Chestnutblaze made his way back to the medicine cats to get checked out.

For a moment it seemed like the three clans where doing well, that was until a few causalities had been announced. Thus far HazeClan had been lucky to have not lost any cat, that was until Ospreytalon was struck down. The black and white tom fought hard against a large brown and white tabby tom, until he was struck down and pinned to the ground. Struggling to regain his footing, Ospreytalon kept fighting although things where beginning to look hopeless for the young warrior. The tom slipped away from the large opponent only to be swarmed by three more cats. Letting out a yowl of pain, this caught Badgerstrike attention. Whirling around to see his son struggling, the black and white tom darted forward in a desperate attempt to reach his son in time. By the time Badgerstrike made it to where Ospreytalon was the four cats that had ganged up on the young warrior had disappeared back into battle. There lying motionless on the ground lied Ospreytalon, his mouth hanging slightly open. Badgerstar let out a furious and heartbroken yowl, whipping around to face an oncoming opponent. Anger and sadness engulfed the black and white warrior as he battled against a sleek gray blue she-cat. Upon their battle a few other rouges appeared, slowly creeping up on Badgerstrike to ambush him. After striking down the she-cat Badgerstrike whipped around to face his next opponent only to be met with sharp white claws. Then everything went black. Badgerstrike fell to the ground, turning his head in every direction unable to see what was around him.

Seeing her clan mate fall to the ground, stunned and dazed with blood covering his face, Tallwhisker knew she had to do something of risk loosing yet another HazeClan member. The long legged she-cat weaved her way in and out of battling cats until she arrived next to an injured Badgerstrike. "Don't move Badgerstrike. It's me, Tallwhsiker. I'm going to get you to a safe place." she meowed, gently nudging the tom to stand. The duo slowly made their way to the edge of the battle field where a small thicket stood, there sat a few other injured clan cats. Knowing she would be leaving Badgerstrike in safe paws, Tallwhisker gently helped Badgerstrike to sit down before giving each cat a small nod and darting back into battle. The lanky black and white she-cat jumped over Pantherstar and brown ragged looking tom that where tangled in a heated battle. As Tallwhisker's front paws began to reach the ground a searing pain surged through her back legs. Turning to see what had happened she spotted a cream colored tom with his claws hooked in her flank, sending the lanky she-cat crashing to the ground. A loud snapping sound hit Tallwhsiker's ears before a burning painful sensation shot up through her leg. Letting out a hiss the she-cat reached around, racking her claws across the tom cat's face and sending him running for the hills. Tallwhisker rose to her paws, her back left leg dangling there at an odd position. It was then she knew she had broken it. Letting out an annoyed hissed, the black and white she-cat made her way back to QuickClan to get treated.

---

As quickly as it came it ended just as fast. The announcement of Nolan and his second being dead quickly spread among the three clans, announcing their victory. Every clan cat stood and watched as the remaining rouges gathered their injured and dead before retreating. Pantherstar and Hazestar moved away from the crowd of cats, away from every cats eyes thus they may say good bye alone. With Pantherstar riding shot gun in her own body during the battle and Hazestar taking over, they had managed to take down many rouges. Now with the battle being over Hazestar no longer needed to be in control. "It's time Pantherstar... Once I leave your body a searing pain is going to rip through you and thus you will lose a life... Are you ready?" the former leader asked. Pantherstar's breath caught in her throat, although she was ready she was also scared. She had lost lives before, but every time it was always a bit scary. "I... I am." Pantherstar meowed back.

As Hazetsra's spirit left Pantherstar's body, a searing pain ripped through the large she-cat's body. The gray and white she-cat collapsed to the ground, her eyes rolling into the back of her head and glazing over. It seemed like moons passed by as one of her lives was ripped away from her. After some time passed, Pantherstar awoke in a groggy state, her head pounding. Before her stood Hazestar and Owlstorm, waiting for the she-cat to regain consciousness. "Welcome back Pantherstar." Hazetsar meowed, giving her a small smile. Owlstorm dipped his head to the she-cat a smile on his face as well. It had been many moons since she had last seen the former deputy, and now here he was once again. "Look how far you have come Pantherstar. You have grown in to a fine young leader." he purred. Pantherstar smiled, dipping her head a bit to the tom."It's been a long time coming, but I think Hazestar as decided to move on... Right my friend?" Owlstorm asked, his head titling a bit to the side. With a small sigh Hazestar gave a small nod, his smile fading just a bit. "It seems so... Both Cardinalheart and Ploverpaw seem to be doing just fine with out me. Although I promised I'd be around till they passed, however their growing up to be fine young cats and don't need a ghost haunting them all the time." Hazestar meowed, chuckling a bit. "It's time. I thank you for taking back HazeClan and making it great again. Don't ever feel like your failing, because trust me when I say you are not." He purred. With one last finale goodbye shared among the three cats, Pantherstar dipped her head one finale time and watched as both Hazestar and Owlstorm faded away.

---

Dawn was creeping up on the clan cats as they all finally arrived back to QuickClan camp, all of the medicine cats and helpers where hard at work. Each cat spread out among the injured, treating them the best they could. Darkflower stuck close to Alpinemask taking in everything he said as he explained what was going on and what they would need to treat each cat. Pantherstar stood next to both Cyanstar and Badgerstar, each leader looking out across the camp. Although their victory came with a small price, the clans offered one another their condolences for the lives they had lost. "HazeClan would like to congratulate you on your victory and remind you that if you ever need help again to call on us and we will be there." Pantherstar meowed to Cyanstar. She then turned to Badgerstar and spoke. "That also goes for GroveClan. If you ever need help, just call on us and we will be there." she meowed.

Across the way where those injured being treated sat Chestnutblaze and Tallwhisker. The young ginger warrior smirked as he boasted about the scars he received in battle to a young female Quickclan warrior. Beside him lied Tallwhisker, rolling her eyes a bit with a playful smile on her face. It was good to see the young tom still in high spirits even though he had been beaten up fairly badly during the battle. "You should have seen me. I mean I was taking them down left and right. They didn't even see what was coming." Chestnutblaze smirked, giving the young she-cat a wink. "I'm Chestnutblaze by the way. What pretty name was given to a pretty she-cat like yourself?" he asked, clearly laying on the charm as thick as he could. "It's Grassthorn. Besides, I'm pretty sure I over heard a GroveClan warrior speaking about how he had to save a ginger tom from HazeClan. That must mean you, considering your the only ginger cat that came." Grassthorn teased, sticking her tongue out at the tom. Chestnuntblaze froze, his fur fluffing up a bit in embarrassment. "Now when you say they didn't see it coming, do you mean you?" she spoke once more. Although lying off to the side, Tallwhisker tried to give the two young warriors some privacy, but couldn't help but laugh at Grassthron's comments. The young QuickClan she-cat was full of sass and feistyness. "She's got you there Chestnuntblaze." Tallwhsiker meowed, chuckling once more. Chestnutblaze ducked his head a bit, looking away as embarrassment radiated from him. Grassthron chuckled a bit, gently nudging him a bit before the pair continued to speak among themselves.

Tallwhisker lied her head on her paws for a moment, only to catch sight of Marshpool, another HazeClan warrior. The lanky black and white she-cat had seen the quiet she-cat many times, often noticing how Marshpool would duck away from others due to her scarred face. Tallwhsiker knew it was from the battle way back with Buzzardstar, and felt sympothy towards the she-cat. Marshpool was one of those friendly shy cats who every cat got along with, but due to the battle and her scars she quickly withdrew from the majority of the clan. "Hey Marshpool." Tallwhisker called out, smiling brightly at the other she-cat. Marshpool paused looking to see who had called her. Upon seeing Tallwhisker smiling at her, Marshpool looked away her ears flattening against her head. Of course it had to be a pretty she-cat to call out to her. "Marshpool... It's okay Just get your pretty butt over here." Tallwhisker called again, causing a few cats to look up and stare. Marshpool let out an embarrassed meow and quickly padded over to Tallwhisker who was griming ear to ear. "W-what?" Marshpool half meowed half hissed out of embarrassment, as she stared at her paws. "Oh nothing. I just wanted a cute she-cat to keep me company and help me lick my wounds." Tallwhsiekr meowed, winking a bit.

The cats chattered among themselves until Cyanstar called for everyone attention, everycat quickly quieting down to let the QuickClan leader speak. Cyanstar turned and thanked Badgerstar and Pantherstar for allowing him to preform the ceremonies before proceeding. Among the crowd of cats sat a proud Turtledove who watched in aw as Finchpaw and Cricketpaw received their warrior names. Upon finishing the ceremonies, Turtledove made sure to be one of the ones to loudly and proudly chant their new names.

Last Moon

After the battle against the rouges to take QuickClan's territory back Cyanstar had offered both GroveClan and HazeClan sanctuary to those who had been injured. Although grateful for the tom's offer, Pantherstar couldn't stay away from camp any more. She knew her clan mates where growing restless with worry and now with Ospreytalon's death and the injuries to Tallwhisker, Badgerstrike, and Chestnutblaze the fluffy she-cat had to be there to comfort her clan. The gray and white she-cat said good bye to her family, making sure to congratulate each of her siblings and thank both her adoptive dads for everything. Pantherstar allowed Marshpool and Tallwhisker lead the way, allowing Tallwhisker to set the pace. Behind them was Wraith and Badgerstrike with Wraith guiding the newly blinded tom. Next followed everyone else, with Brightgaze, Heavystep and herself bringing up the rear as they carried Ospreytalon's lifeless body back home.

Slowly as the patrol trickled back into camp, many HazeClan cats emerged from their dens, happy to see the group returning home. That was until they began to notice the major injuries inflicted on Tallwhisker, Badgerstrike, and Chestnutwhisker. Swivelspear emerged from the nursery with Applefall right behind her. The two she-cats bonded over to Badgerstrike, Wraith dipping her head and leaving the two she-cats alone with the tom. "Badgerstrike..." Swivelspear breathed, her eyes wide with shock as she took in Badgerstrike's injuries. The black and white tom flattened his ears, lowering his head a bit as well, unable to hold truly face his mate and daughter in law. "Swivel..." Badgerstrike began, only to be cut by a cry of pain an agony. Applefall's eyes caught sight of the limp body of Ospreytalon being set down in the middle of the camp, her body beginning to shake and tears streaming down her face. "N-no... Not him... It's not fair..." she choked out, rushing to the tom's side and burring her face into his cold fur. Swivelspear stood in place, her eyes wide with shock as she tried to process what she was seeing before her. Her heart sinking as her mind processed what had happened to Ospreytalon. Sadness quickly turned to anger as Swivelspear stepped closer to Badgerstrike, nose to nose with her mate. "You promised!" she hissed, blinking back tears as she yelled at Badgerstrike. The tom stood there, letting his mate vent knowing how sad and confused she was. Once done Swivelspear leaned into Badgerstrike, crying heavily as she grieved for her son. Across the way Pantherstar stood, frowning as she watch the scene with Ospreytalon's family unfold. It broke her heart that she wasn't able to save the young warrior, feeling like failure once more. With a heavy sigh she padded over and offered her condolences before leaving the family to grieve.

The following morning was just as rough for the clan, when Orangesky, on of the queens reported that Applefall had passed away in her sleep. It didn't take long for many cats to believe with the death of Ospreytalon resulted in the young medicine she-cat to pass away from a broken heart. A few of the warriors took the she-cat's body out and lied her in the center of camp so every cat could say good bye. Pantherstar said a silent prayer before dipping her head and padded towards the High Rock to allow the clan to say good bye. As the she-cat padded towards the High Rock, Darkflower joined her, the duo taking a seat below the High Rock. "Not such a good morning now is it... " Darkflower meowed, pausing for a moment before speaking once more. "With Applefall now gone HazeClan is left with just a medicine cat apprentice... Cloudypaw never even finished his training... He can't do this alone... So I have come to ask you to allow me to travel to QuickClan and train under their medicine cats. When Twigstorm was still with us he taught me basic herb knowledge and basic healing procedures... I'd like to take on that role and finish Cloudypaw's training... But only if you will allow me." the black she-cat explained. She held her breath for a moment as she watched Pantherstar process everything she had said. Pantherstar gave small nod before speaking. "Darkflower, I trust you... Go. Do what you have to do so HazeClan can survive." The two she-cats touched noses before Darkflower rose to her paws and disappeared to tell Cloudypaw before making the journey to QuickClan.

Present

With so many kits in the nursery and many of them only a moon away from their apprentice ceremonies the nursery had become a bit chaotic. Many of them already itching to get out and explore, driving the queens and poor Driftsnow a bit bonkers. Upon getting consent from the queens Driftsnow took it upon himself to take all the kits out of the nursery for the day to not only give the queens a break, but also in hopes of giving the kits a fun day of being out of the nursery. As soon as the tall lanky tom stepped out of the nursery a flood of kits came racing past him and out into the open. Many gasps of aw could be heard from the group, with a few daring kits trying to sneak off to explore the warriors' den. "Not so fast Fangkit, Gustkit, Sharpkit, Webkit, and Pikekit. You all know better. Get over here." Driftsnow called out to the small group. Fangkit grumbled a bit, glaring at Driftsnow before slowly walking back over to the group. Of course the trouble makers had to be some of his younger siblings along with his mother's best friends' kits.

Once the small group of kits joined the rest of the group Driftsnow made sure to do a head count before proceeding to speak. "I know there are lots of you here getting ready to become apprentices next moon, but that does not give you the excuse to run off and do what you please. You will remain with the group. Those who dare try to run off or leave camp will be punished. I will have a talk with Pantherstar and we will have your apprentice ceremony pushed back. So please be on your best behavior." Driftsnow announced before turning to lead the group onward. The tom slowly made his way around the camp, making sure to point out what dens where what and other interesting things like the High Rock. Driftsnow ended the tour at the elder's den, signaling for them all to stay put for a moment as he entered the den. A few muffled words could be heard before Driftsnow emerged from the den and gave the group of kits a smile. "I just had a brief conversation with our clans most wisest cats. They are very excited to be able to have visitors and would love for you guys to squeeze in and hear some stories." Many of the kits let out happy meows, all but a few disappointed kits that wanted to sneak out.

Fangkit and Sharpkit both let out low grumbles while Webkit gave a small roll of her eyes. "Ugh... I don't want to have to sit and here boring old stories. I want to go out and really explore." Fangkit hissed. "Then why don't we all go in. Sit in the back and wait for the perfect moment to slip out when everyone is so intrigued with the elders' stories." Webkit meowed. The other four turned to face Webkit, a large smile on both Fangkit and Sharpkit. Pikekit happily purred and nodded his head in agreement with his sister. "You guys... Didn't you hear Driftsnow though... Our ceremonies will be postponed if we do that... " Gustkit meowed softly, keeping his eyes low to the ground. "He doesn't scare me. Besides with Webkit's brain and Sharpkit and I's claws, we will be back before anyone notices." Fangkit meowed. Sharpkit smirked and gently nudged her brother and gave a small nod. Gustkit gave a small sigh, knowing he was defeated. Shortly after discussing their plan, Driftsnow slowly began to usher the kits into the elders' den.

Once all inside and cozy, Driftsnow promised to return with prey for everyone to share but would need a bit to grab it. With a small nod from Sootpelt and a friendly smile from Lavenderbreeze, the bengal tom slipped out leaving the kits with the clan's elders. Sootpelt and the other elders began telling stories from their past, captivating many of the kits but once again a small group of mischievous kits began to get antsy. Fangkit and Sharpkit both letting out small annoyed sighs and the other three sitting quietly. Webkit looked all around, taking in every little detail before finally gently nudging the others. She tilted her head bit to the exit, knowing the others where to busy to notice and Driftsnow across camp gathering food. "With Driftnsow busy getting food for everyone and everyone else so captivated by these stories I'm sure we have time to slip out and explore a little. Remember. Stick to the shadows. Silent and quick.." Webkit meowed. With a small nod and Webkit leading the way, the group of five slipped out of the elder's den, hugging the shadows as they moved about camp. Fangkit and Sharpkit even dared one another to slip inside the warrior's den. Webkit rolled her eyes as the two trouble makers darted in and out before finally signalling the due to keep moving.

Just on the edge of the moors at the forest below the mountains stood a group of five. Two fully grown cats standing on each end with three smaller younger looking cats standing between them. "Is this even the right place Foxpaw?" a tobie colored she-cat meowed, her eyes darting from the ginger she-cat back to the mountains before them. They had been travelling for some time now, looking for a clan called HazeClan. It was where thee ginger she-cat known as Foxpaw was travelling to with her mother. That was until the two she-cats had gotten separated, leaving young Foxpaw to wonder around lost by herself until she came across the other four. Foxpaw gave a confident nod, her eyes fixated on what lied ahead of them. "It feels like it. I know that we are meant to be here. This is where she has to be..." Foxpaw breathed, her heart racing with the idea of being reunited with her mother. Without hesitating any longer, Foxpaw stepped forward, leading the group up the mountain side, making sure to go slow and steady as not to have any cat injured.

As they group made their way through the mountains, they eventually made it to the other side, their eyes landing on a sparkling lake before them. "I'm hungry Radishpaw..." a small voice meowed, causing the older she-cat look down. With a small faint smile, Radishpaw gently brushed the tip of her tail over the younger torbie's back. "I know Sorrelpaw... we all are. However it's just a bit farther. You know it's rude to hunt on another clan's territory. I promise as soon as we find HazeClan's camp and are accepted in I'll find the biggest juiciest prey for you three little ones to share." Radishpaw purred. Sorrelpaw let out a defeated sigh, but also nodded her head a bit. "Okay..." the young she-cat meowed. Foxpaw forwned a bit, knowing the journey had been tough for every cat, especially the younger three. "Let's take a small break here. We can continue in a few moments." She meowed, flashing a quick smile at every cat.

Flash Back

The ginger and white tabby struggled to keep up with her mother, but didn't dare admit being tired. Although Foxpaw knew deep down her mother would stop and let her rest if she would say something, but with being homeless they risked being attacked at every moment. The young apprentice knew it would be better to keep pushing forward in hopes to find a new home. Her mother, Quailtuft, spoke of a clan called HazeClan their new home that awaited them miles away. Foxpaw remembered her mother saying how she spoke to a black tabby moons ago at a gathering. The tom had been kind enough to extend open paws to bother her mother and herself. Now the duo just had to make it there safety, but the journey was not kind to either of them. They went days with out eating and always where exhausted, but some how kept pushing forward.

Large dark gray clouds loomed over top with the faint echo of thunder off in the distance. It was about to storm, at any moment rain would fall down upon them. Quailtuft paused suddenly, her ears perked and her posture showing she was on high alert. Lost in thought, Foxpaw ran in to the back end of her mother, surprised by the sudden stop. Scrambling back to her paws, the young she-cat stood next to the older she-cat and waited. "Mom?" Foxpaw meowed, tilting her head a bit. Quailtuft looked down at her kit, smiling soft before speaking. "Everything is fine... We need to find shelter before it begins..." Quailtuft spoke, her voice cut off by a loud crack and boom. Suddenly the rain began pouring down on them, lightning crashing, and thunder echoing loudly. Foxpaw jumped, her fur standing up on end as she stuck close to her mother.

Quailtuft gave her daughter a reassuring lick before pressing onward, determined to find a safe place out of the rain to rest. The two she-cats pushed onward, the rain soaking their pelts to the core. Lightning flashed high above them and thunder echoed loudly, causign the she-cats to freeze every once in awhile. As the two moved farther on they came to a river, now begining to flood from the heavy rain that rained down from above. Across the way Quailtuft spotted a cave, knowing it would be the best place to stay until the rain passed, all they had to do was cross the rushing water. "Just go slow and follow me. Okay?" Quailtuft asked, looking at Foxpaw. Foxpaw gave a small nod and a reassuring smile to her mother, following the older she-cat's lead. Slowly and steadily the duo began to cross, using the large rocks as stepping stones to cross. A bright flash and loud crack rang out through the sky and a tree on fire came crashing down, falling between Quailtuft and Foxpaw. Foxpaw took a step back, her footing slipping on the slippery rock as she tumbled into the water. Quailtuft let out a terrified yowl, trying to reach her daughter, only to watch her be whisked away down the river. "Mom!" Foxpaw screamed, her cries of helping being drowned out by the loud thunder and rushing water.

---

All alone and unsure where she was going, Foxpaw stumbled through the underbrush in daze. It had been days since she had last eaten and it clearly showed. Her ribs where clearly visible now through her matted and dirty pelt. Foxpaw stumbled over a root, sending the scrawny she-cat down to the ground. Letting out an annoyed hissed, Foxpaw lied there for a brief moment, unsure if she should just give up or keep going. A loud rustling noise caused Foxpaw to perk her ears up, lifting her head to look toward where the noise was coming from. It didn't take long for three smaller cats come crashing through the underbrush laughing and chasing one another. That was until they noticed rough looking Foxpaw and froze in their tracks. "Sorrelpaw. Finchpa. Riddlepaw. Where are you?" a sweet voice called out, a torbie she-cat emerging from the underbrush behind the three younger cats. The trio exchanged looks before dashing off to hid behind the torbie. "Radishpaw... Look." the brown tabby tom meowed, his eyes darting back to a sickly looking Foxpaw. Radishpaw cooed a bit to the three younger cats to sooth them down before stepping towards Foxpaw. "Oh you poor thing... Look how unhealthy you look... Don't be afraid. We're here to help. Will one of you be a doll and fetch some prey for this she-cat here. We'll have her eat and then take her back to our makeshift camp to heal." Radishpaw spoke. With a small nod the other torbie she-cat bounded off only to return shortly after with a mouse dangling from her jaws. It was in that moment, that Foxpaw knew that the four before her would become very important cats in her life.

End Flash Back

---

After letting everyone get a chance to rest and regain their energy, Foxpaw rose to her paws. "It's time. HazeClan's scent is getting stronger. We just have to follow it to where the scent is strongest, and that is where we will find their camp." the ginger she-cat meowed. Radishpaw gave a small nod, ushering the three younger cats froward as she took up the back. "We're ready Foxpaw. Lead the way." she called. Foxpaw gave a small nod, padding forward as she lead their rag-tag group onward. The group of five traveled onward until finally making their way up a hill with large rock structures. There the group saw many cats moving about and interacting with one another. It wasn't long before some cat noticed the rough looking group of five and let out a yowl to alert the whole camp. Foxpaw unsure how these cats would react quickly got into a defensive position in front of Sorrelpaw, Finchpaw, and Riddlepaw. Following the ginger and white tabby's lead, Radishpaw turned around to face the other direction, prepared to protect the other three if needed.

A large fluffy gray and white she-cat accompanied by a cinnamon tabby tom and a gray and white tom. The three approached confidently, the she-cat being the one to speak first. "Greetings young ones. Please. Stand down. You have nothing to fear here." she spoke. Something about the way she spoke eased Foxpaw and the others, each cat relaxing a bit. However Foxpaw remained alert, still unsure of them as her eyes darted around the camp, hoping to catch a glimpse of her mother. Sensing the young ginger and white tabby was looking for something or someone, Pantherstar took a step closer. "I am Pantherstar. Leader of HazeClan. It seems you have come a long way. Before going off to search for whatever your looking for, I think you and your group should eat first. You all look fairly skinny." Pantherstar spoke, flicking her tail for the two toms behind her to fetch some fresh-kill for the group.

Later that evening after finally being able to have a decent meal, the rag-tag group of five where accepted into HazeClan as apprentices. With the rest of the gang being well taken care of and interacting with the other younger cats, Foxpaw knew now would be the best time to try to find her mother. She gave Radishpaw a small nod and smile before making her way back out into the camp area, only looking back once and giving her a reassuring smile. Once out in the open Foxpaw looked around the camp before her, amazed by the numerous ammount of cats around her. HazeClan was clearly thriving and every cat they had interacted with thus far had been pretty friendly. Now that they had finally made it here there was only one thing left for Foxpaw to do. That was to find her mother Quailtuft.

Across the way a mostly black calico tom stood, his eyes watching young Foxpaw's movement. The way she looked and acted reminded the tom cat of an old quirky clan member. A smile smile crossed the tom's face as he remembered how quirky and outgoing Quailtuft had been, always doing her best to brighten everyone's day. She had been a close friend of his, but now he was alone once more. However something inside Inkfire clicked with him, putting two and two together. Foxpaw was Quailtuft's long lost daughter. Stepping forward he cleared his throat softly, causing Foxpaw to turn and face him. "You know... You remind me so much of your mother." Inkfire spoke softly. Confused and yet curious Foxpaw spoke. "So you know her? You know Quailtuft?" She asked, getting nose to nose with the older tom. Her questions hit him hard, remaining silent for a moment as he tried to think how he would tell Foxpaw her mother had died. Sensing something was off Foxpaw took a few steps back, a wave of emotions crashing down over her. The ginger and white tabby she-cat let out and angry hiss, tears welding up in the corners of her eyes. "She's not dead! She can't be!" she cried out, causing many cats to turn and look toward her and Inkfire.

Hearing a small commotion going on outside of the dens, Radishpaw slipped away from Sorrelpaw, Riddlepaw, and Finchpaw. The torbie she-cat emerged to find Foxpaw yelling at a mostly black calico tom in the middle of camp. A small crowd of cats had begun to gather watching the scene before them unfold. Radishpaw frowned bit, having to shove her way through to get to the front. There stood Foxpaw, tears streaming down her face as she yelled in anger and grief at the tom before her. "Foxpaw... I'm sorry. I know it's hard to accept, but it's true... She was such a wonderful she-cat and talked very highly of you." Inkfire meowed. This only seemed to anger Foxpaw more, causing the she-cat to let out a growl and hiss before pushing past every cat and darting off down the hill. Inkfire stood there as he watched Foxpaw run away, frowning a bit. Pantherstar emerged from the crowd, padding over to stand next to Inkfire. "She'll come back... She's just upset...If she doesn't come back before the sun has gone all the way down I'll send a patrol to find her." Pantherstar meowed. "Excuse me..." Radishpaw meowed softly, cuasing both the older cats to turn to look at her. "I'll bring her back... I know how to handle her... We've been through a lot together. If she's gonna trust anyone at this time it'll be me." the torbie she-cat explained. Pantherstar and Inkfire exchanged looks before giving a small nod. "If you both aren't back by the time the sun goes down, I'll send a patrol out. Be safe." Pantherstar meowed.

Down by the lake Foxpaw found herself walking along the water's edge, her eyes dull and full of sadness. Pausing for a moment, the ginger and white tabby paused to look at her reflection in the water. Letting out a heavy sigh, she let out a sorrowful yowl and smacked her reflection sending water flying up into the air. "It's okay to cry Foxpaw..." a sweet shy voice meowed from behind the ginger tabby. Foxpaw whirled around, her fur standing up on end only to relax when she saw the familiar face before her. "Radishpaw..." Foxpaw meowed, bonding out of the water and over to the torbie she-cat and burying her face into the she-cat's fur. The duo stood there for what seemed like ages, time seeming to stand still around them. After a few moments Foxpaw pulled away, using her front left paw to wipe at her face before holding herself proudly once more. "Do you think... Even though I yelled at him... do you think that tom would show me where she's burred? Maybe even tell me stories about her." Foxpaw asked. Radishpaw gave a small smile and nod before speaking. "I believe he will... Everyone knows that you weren't angry at them... Just upset that she's gone. You did travel far and wide to find her. Now that she's gone it's upsetting... They get it. Come on Foxpaw, if we don't return soon Pantherstar said she'd send a whole patrol out to find us." Radishpaw meowed softly, giggling lightly at the mention of the patrol possibly coming out. Foxpaw gave a small smile and nod, following alongside Radishpaw as the duo headed back to HazeClan's camp.
