All names have a meaning behind them. Like my real name means my father is joy. These meanings, the meaning of every name used n this will have some influence on the character. So if he was named...Uh...something like Aiden, aka Little fire he would gain a slightly bonus in skills to fire. If he is named something that means king, or something he will gain swordsmanship skills. It's only a slight bonus I admit.
Halvard the big guy's name means - Rock Guardian, or Guardian of the Rock, and he is the head of the tower Guardians. He is also big and sturdy, like a rock
