Brittle wrote:I'd just want to be a caster. I don't want cruddy actors playing my characters badly. And who else knows the characters better then the author who raised them? Lol.
But yes, I am always disgusted with myself when I give up on an amazing plot. Someday I wish I could just sell my ideas or millions to authors and publishers everywhere who'd make them art!
I would NEVER trust anyone but myself with my ideas. But, yeah, I'd be a caster, too. I'd work to find the PERFECT people to act the characters. People who are fans of the novels and know the character they try out for well and can play that character awesomely.
Oh me! Oh life! of the questions of these recurring,
Of the endless trains of the faithless, of cities fill’d with the foolish,
Of myself forever reproaching myself, (for who more foolish than I, and who more faithless?)
Of eyes that vainly crave the light, of the objects mean, of the struggle ever renew’d,
Of the poor results of all, of the plodding and sordid crowds I see around me,
Of the empty and useless years of the rest, with the rest me intertwined,
The question, O me! so sad, recurring—What good amid these, O me, O life?
Answer.
That you are here—that life exists and identity,
That the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse.

I am being published, and one of my friends keeps saying that if (which it won't) gets made into a film, she wants to play the main character. When she is the complete opposite to my dear Hickory. Seriously, I had better be in on the casting because if I am not, hads will roll. (This is all theoretical, I have to publish it still!)
Anyway, I'd love to get a role in it, so I can portray the character perfectly. Yay, author/actor dreams.
*Is going to stop getting ahead of herself*
Yes! I'm not alone with author/actor dreams! Man, I used to dream of acting the main character in my first ever series, Golden Sword, then as I grew older I realized that might never work. Not to get you down or anything. I would HATE if someone wanted to act as a character in one of my uncountable list of series I've got going on and they were completely opposite that character. I'd be like, "Nooo!" But, at least your friend would want to.

So, ah, I'm working on a new story titled 'Punk's Not Dead' basically about a bunch of rival gangs in a high-tech city and how they deal with each other, probably following the recruitment of a new member into one of the gangs... each gang is based off of a different 'punk' genre, with there being the Cyberpunks, Steampunks, Biopunks, Splatterpunks, Elfpunks and Mythpunks... each gang is identified by different colours, outfits and ways of behaviour. Only teenagers to early twenty-year-olds can belong to a gang, apart from the Mythpunks, who refuse to reveal ages (although, they appear around that young age group.)
There's a 'neutral zone' in the form of a club that serves non-alcoholic beverages and food, along with playing loud music and having flashy lights and smoke machines and the works... any rivalry between gangs is forgotten here, allowing them to get along like civil human beings. Although, many of them aren't entirely human...

That's great stray dog! I think it's cool someone is making a punk type novel!
I have a question for anyone viewing this;
If your book was published and two years after someone approached you because they wanted to produce it, and then they gave you the choice....What would you be? {only one!}
A. Executive Producer
B. Casting
C. Play a character!
Or D. Script!

Heh, thanks... there's going to be a lot of focus on different forms of delinquent behaviour - playing loud music, using recreational drugs/alcohol, speeding and performing dangerous stunts (on hoverboards, in this instance), graffiti/tagging, gang wars with guns and different weapons... many of the kids are orphans and runaways, all living together in their gang territory.
Authorities pay little mind to them, as long as violence and such is kept within the gangs and innocent civilians are left alone, as any property damage is usually kept to old and abandoned property left specifically for the gangs to squabble over.
The thing is, with all these kids, many of them are incredibly bright - Cybers are hackers, Steams create old-fashioned robotics, Bios perform genetic experiments on each other, Splatters are amazing artists and writers, Elfs are magical dancers with wings and pointed ears and Myths are (or so they believe) immortal gods and goddesses, living on this high-tech earth... Artemis and Apollo, the twins, are gonna be my favourite from the Myths, I can tell.

@Brittle Script. Besides writing I don't know how to run a movie or cast.
So if you remember a few of you commented on whether I should switch my novel's tense. I'm not sure yet, but I do want opinions on the plot. It's mostly biblical reference with a modern twist; the main character also starts out the 'villain' as a demon himself. Long story short, the demon ends up protecting the angel he was sent to take out and steal the soul of, not having the heart to kill what turns out to be a kid without a memory of heaven or how he got on Earth to begin with. In the process he ends up on the "good" side, fighting to protect the world and the soul that could ultimately lead to its destruction. I won't say anything else otherwise I'll end up giving it away, but I really need to know if the plot would interest anyone enough to pick it up and read it.
I'm also looking for biblical angel and demon names. I have the main characters, Cercial and Sifer, but that's about it. Any help is appreciated.

Hey, so, I wrote this twisted tale a while back that few have seen and - the more mature of you, if you're interested - I'd like a little feedback... so. Please, PM me if you're interested, I'll give you a fair warning about the short (616 words) story's content, then we can proceed either which way...
