Well, you guess you can keep looking. Charlie's not exactly subtle. You'll find her eventually.

After a brief break, you set off again, this time deliberately heading as far across town as you can possibly go before reaching the end. It's a long trek - by the time you decide to turn back around, the sun is heading into the west. This section of town is crawling with twolegs, so you duck into the quietest, darkest area you can go, and start weaving through the criss-crossing alleys and corridors, ears and eyes on the alert.

Eventually, you hear a few cats talking around a corner. You peek your head out and see a small tortoiseshell sitting with a broad-shouldered black tom. You think you can see someone else, but you duck back before one of them sees you. It seems like they're at ease, and something tells you that they don't own this particular alley.


Announce yourself.
Walk around the corner.

I announce myself. Perhaps they might be more inclined to answer me if I sound confident. Besides, they're at ease and they don't own the alley, so they should be more scared than hostile.
