do you believe that historical fiction is more suited for an older audience?
Because I honestly find myself willed to write more about characters in
past settings. But it seems modern every day people are what a young
adult audience tend to veer toward these days.
as a historical fiction writer, I would say that there is generally
less people wanting to read it nowadays. Teenagers are very
into things they can relate to. Sadly, I personally don't think
there are many historical readers nowadays. I'd say people
don't like to go out their comfort zones. But keep writing,
for we HF writers have to stick together!!(:

Microsoft Word. It's so lonely there...I feel like it's only me... XD
never used wattpad before...
I actually use Microsoft Word Perfect 12 as my writing program (old, I know, but that was what I started with way back in 2009 or 2010, and I don't ever want to change). So maybe you're not entirely alone?
And when it comes to posting on Wattpad I actually just copy my stories from my Word Perfect and paste them into Wattpad. I've never written straight on Wattpad. But I would recommend it if you want to converse with a wider variety of readers/writers and share your stories in hopes of getting feedback. Though I haven't been getting much of the latter.
I use Microsoft Word as well, though it's a pretty old version of it (2010/2011 or something). I could never get the hang of other programs such as OpenOffice or Google Docs.
I tried Pages as a writing program on my iPad, but when I updated by iPad every document I ever made on Pages was deleted. >_> luckily there was nothing overly important on it, but it was still pretty annoying.
Yayaayayyyy!! Haha...there's actually people like me...
Yeah...so what is wattpad anyway? I've heard of it all over the place, but no one's every explained what it was...

lot's of people have been asking about wattpad, soooo I complied this from around the internet (and edited it to make it less formal!)
Welcome to Karma's Guide To Wattpad!
Synopsis/Goal:
Wattpad is the world's largest community of readers and writers.
100 Million Stories to read
40 Million Wattpadders and growing.
11 Billion Minutes spent on Wattpad every month
85% Mobile, across all devices
Wattpad is a writing community in which users are able to post articles, stories, fan fiction, and poems, either online or through the mobile app. This gives people the chance to have their creative works available to a wider audience. The content includes work by undiscovered writers, published writers, new writers, with all users being given an equal chance to write popular works. Users are able to comment and like stories or join groups associated with the website. Around half of the users are US based; other users come from the UK, Canada, the Philippines, Australia, United Arab Emirates and other countries. Registration is required to create, post and edit books (as well as like and comment on other people's), but isn't a necessity if you just want to read. With an intuitive, modern look and theme, this place is great for young teens to young adults. The logo is easily recognisable, and it is ranked with other social media sites such as 'Facebook', 'Twitter' and 'Pinterest.'
With thousands of stories added each day, there’s always something you want to read. Want a story about a daughter smuggling her zombie mother to safety? We have that. Want a story about a time-traveling frog with super powers? We don’t have that, and we’d be happy to see you write it.
Whether you’ve never written before, or published multiple books, Wattpad offers benefits for writers of all levels. Join the conversation about the stories you read: message the writer and interact with other people who love the story as much as you. Get notified the moment your favorite writer shares a new chapter.
Useful Points about Wattpad:
• No matter what you write, there is someone in the world who wants to read it. Wattpad helps connect people with similar interests.
• You don't have to put your real name, so you could write a series of books under a fake one and your friends would never guess it was you!
• With a huge help centre, you'll never be lost again after you receive help from the Wattpad team!
• Wattpad has all the stories you need, and they make it easy to read—right on your phone. Whether you're online or offline, you can read seamlessly without worrying about downloading PDFs.
• See how others reacted to that crazy twist. Wattpad's commenting lets you share thoughts and interact with the story while you are reading.
• Follow, and get followed! The world is at your fingertips.
• It's completely and utterly free - no in app purchases or silly things that make you spend money.
• Make free covers on the Wattpad cover maker app.

I'm still struggling with getting used to using Wattpad, so I only have one story up and it kind of halted.
I mostly use Quotev for my writing that I post online.
For my writing I use a lot of Microsoft Word, Google Docs, ZenWriter, or QuollWriter.
"You wanna make yourself useful?"
"Not particularly."

i normally find myself using google docs. google updates often with new and helpful tools and it is very
easy to access.
i previously used quotev but i honestly found that it was a very unprofessional website mostly populated
by pre-teens. i found wattpad later on and found it much more professional and it had more variety.
just a female student with an addiction to iced coffee,
and little to no time on her hands.

-Casimir-
possibly. i usually find myself reading ancient mythologial fiction,
as i do not usually take a liking to modern day things.
it reminds me of my everyday life, not my everyday dreams.
(if that makes sense)
