We are all conected on a level most people choose to ignore or give up on. People don't know how emotionl we writers are. They think we're recluse and wierd, dreaming up strange fantasies like we're demented. But boo to them, we're all just lonely.
I mean, we kill people in our books, or we make them suffer- that does a lot to a person. It's like killing your babies, or hurting them.
And it's nice to know there are people out there who get it. You guys rock.

Go Go King! Go Go King! you can do it, you can do it, yah!
(It's okay. Just make it up in one giant go! It'll be fine! You can do it!)
I think that's all the cheering I've got in me. Hope you manage King.

And they are not my babies. They are my enemies in an epic war on stupidity.

But you created them, moulded them to life and gave them morals and personality. Tell me you don't feel something for them. c;

@Rem. Well, err, I try not to let my affections for my characters get in the way of the story. So even if I love a character and they have to die, they will if the story so requires it. So they're not my babies, exactly. xD More like my well-crafted and beautiful pieces on a chessboard.

Being a writer means keeping stories in your head, weaving threads together into a fragile web... and then sticking it onto paper and hoping it keeps its shape. It's looking through other people's heads and seeing the world they way they see it, and remembering the path back to your own mind. It's keeping your reader in mind, and seeing the story through their minds as you write it through your character's eyes... Yup.
INSANELY BUSY!
I am moving! For the next month or so, I am going to be so very busy.
If I'm on here, it's because I'm unwinding with writing or pets or whatever.
Please do not add to my stress, if you can. Your support is appreciated.

I get attached to every single one of my characters on some emotional level. It's inevitable. That's why it makes it so hard for me to kill them off orz

Not most of them....Only the good ones. The bad ones just make me want to kill them(That's how I write them I guess, so that the readers will want them to die also....). I think I'm just a vicious person sometimes...and that's how I get out my evil dreams without actually hurting anyone.
That makes me sound like a bad person, but if I plan on killing a character, I just don't get attached. And if I get attached and am forced to kill a character I like, I just rewrite it, so I guess I've never really killed my babies, just evil rats that were threatening their lives.

@Artesian
Yes. Just yes.

That makes sense. I love all of my characters, even the ones who have to die. Like poor little Freddie... I don't tend to let it get in the way of stories, however. I just mourn for a bit. Artesian, you're amazing.

I feel something for every male character I create. O_o Well, for all my characters. I drew a picture of one of my male characters, Stanley, from a series I'm writing called Golden Sword. My best friend said he was really cute. Then she was over on my birthday a few days ago and found a picture on my wall of a boy and said that if he were real, and her age, she'd kiss him. O_o I was just thinking, "He is one of the male characters from Golden Sword, Jacob, the main character, Kate's, boyfriend!" I didn't know what to think.

Hehe, is it just me, or do you guys sometimes kill off your main characters, too? I do...actually, in every story I write, the main character dies. And lately, the main characters of my stories are males. OMG, and I'm female...O_o! Well, in one of my newer series, The Destined One Saga, the main character, Tyler Joseph Avalon lost his memory in the beginning and throughout the saga he regains it, so he remembers everthing by the time of the last book, The Destined One: Fall of Evil: The Final Showdown. I'm thinking about making him lose it again at the very end, as a twist to shock readers. What do you think?

I had a character, the main character in my Golden Sword series, Katelyn Stelleluna Thomas-Lyte, knkwn as Kate or the Golden Warrior, whom was the very first character I ever created. This year, I decided to kill her at the end of Golden Sword. It was terrubly hard, but I don't regret my decision. I feel like killing the main character, or changing them like I'm thinking of doing to Tyler Hoseph from The Destined One Saga, is a great way of saying, "This is the end. There's no more, absolutely no more."

Oh me! Oh life! of the questions of these recurring,
Of the endless trains of the faithless, of cities fill’d with the foolish,
Of myself forever reproaching myself, (for who more foolish than I, and who more faithless?)
Of eyes that vainly crave the light, of the objects mean, of the struggle ever renew’d,
Of the poor results of all, of the plodding and sordid crowds I see around me,
Of the empty and useless years of the rest, with the rest me intertwined,
The question, O me! so sad, recurring—What good amid these, O me, O life?
Answer.
That you are here—that life exists and identity,

That the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse.

Hi ~Fang~.
For a while, that was my favorite way to start a story. Get it going with one character who you're sure is going to be the main character and then kill them off and replace them with some younger sibling or other random stagehand who was there at the right(or wrong) time.
I also enjoyed killing them off at the end of the story, but I've finally gotten over that. It's a great tragic ending but really, if you write a bunch of stories and the main character dies at the end of each one, then someone sees one of your books and goes 'Hey, I know how that one ends.'
So I try to diversify now, and throw in some other stuff with the main character killing. It leaves people wondering....
(I think I realized why you can't write for Raindrop - because you can't kill them off at the end.*Laughs*[I'm not being serious. That was me being silly. Nooote this noooote this.{those where ghost noises}])

I can't kill my characters. They're not like babies to me, but they're sort of like friends..in my head. *_* Of course, I've never actually gotten that far in a story before, but I'm worried I won't be able to when it's time. I know I'll have to, since I'm writing in that fantasy/adventure/action that always seems to include a few heartbreaking deaths. I did create a character that was originally meant to die at the end, but I don't think he's going to die anymore.
Sometimes you see things that are
real,
and other times it's like
crazy, crazy, crazy
all up in your face.
All the time.
