Dear Diary,

Wow. I have A LOT to say about yesterday. You've probably noticed my obvious change of appearance. I'll get to that.
Well yesterday, I came home, and my house was in shambles. I found a note from my dad lying on the floor. Here's the note, tapped in, and the key:

I heard voices down the hall, so I did what he said and ran. When I got to the school, I unlocked the door - to reveal a set of steps. Hesitantly, I went down them. At the bottom, I was surprised to see all of my friends from sword-fighting class - as well as Hikaru. They were all dressed similar to how I'm now dressed. I explained to Jace and Eleanor, and they began to tell me about how we were all Slayers. More later,
