Long story... actually, not that long of a story, but I went shopping Layna today to get my outfit for the dance. And we found the most perfect dress EVER! I told you it was the Halloween dance right? Yeah, I guess I did, so you're supposed to wear a costume. Then again, I knew I couldn't get a really costumey costume because then I wouldn't look pretty in it. The compromise? Get a costume that is also a dress.
SO I'M GOING AS A PIRATE GIRL :D Great idea, right?

So, we went and bought our stuff and then we headed over to Paw's Burger place and we got some cheeseburgers and fried and milkshakes (mine was CHOCOLATE :D)and all that good stuff. We ran into Lexi and Hollie there, so we ended up sitting in the same booth as them.

Having a guy to take you to the dance is overly cliché and detracts from the integrity and independence of women as a whole. I mean, are we so reliant on our male counterparts that we need to cleave to them at every social event? Can we not go to something like a dance on our own free will without needing to have a guy ask us to? Are we that backward as a species that we need the permission of someone else to do what we want with our time? So no, I will be going to the dance as an independent young woman. -Layna

Apparently. Despite all of its weaker points: teachers who don't show up half of the time, a nurse that uses Band-Aids to cure the flu, a highly biased principal, a relentlessly criticizing student body, queen bees that rule the school, and school lunches imported from industrial factories in South America; there's something about Avian High School that makes random children flock here like crazy. -Layna
