Sorry I took so long! had writers block. I've noticed my chapters are short so this should be longer.
Myst hurried back the way she came, suddenly remembering Red's old den. She broke into a run, desperatly hoping that Red's former mate, Wanderer had abandoned it. She saw the dark hole in the ground and dove inside, without sniffinf around it to find out if there were any dangers. But to her relif, it was empty. She crawled through the dark, narrow tunnel and emerged in a slightly bogger room. She hesitated glancing at the three different tunnels before chosing the one on the left. Myst felt the ground sloping and knew she was heading deeper underground. The only danger she'd face would be from other foxes discovering the den. When Myst thought she'd been traveling for ages, the tunnel widened and she found herself in another room, alot like the first. She sat down and reviewed the twisting tunnel in her mind. They're had been many other tunnels branching off from the one she'd been in, but she'd gone straight, ignoring them. Myst looked around the tunnel and smiled. It was perfect. It wasn't too big or small and the dirt under her paws was soft. Near the back of the tunnel, Myst saw a small beam of light that brightened the room slightly. A thin trickle of water flowed down the smooth walls into a large pool of water. She lapped up some of it, thinking that a river was directly above her. But it must have been small. Myst flopped down beside the pool and gazed around. This was even better than her old home. The many tnnels would make it hard to find her way out, but it meant that if she had pups or anything, they'd be safe.
Myst closed her eyes for a minute. When she opened them she was in a small clearing. She glanced around, surprised to see starry figures running towards her from ll around. She flinched, expecting them to runher over but they stopped a few feet away. A familar figure stepped forewards." The wind's whisper will fade and the wanderer will rage through the forest. Many will fall and the moon's mist, the tree's leaf and the flame will have the power of the stars." Myst stared at him in bewilderment." I am Night." He said, seeming not to notice her confused expression. "I have been assigned to be you mentor." He told her. "My..My what?" She asked staring at him with a shocked look. Only the best foxes had a Mentor from the Red Sky Stars. "Your Mentor" Night said calmly." I will help you to discover you powers and use it correctly." Myst gasped, stunned." My power?" She echoed." Yes Mystic Moon. Didn't you listen to the prohecy? It mentioned the moons myst, the tree's leaf, and the flame." He smiled at her."I will also help you to find the others in the prophecy." Myst shook her head, recovering from her breif moment of shock." I'm part of the prophecy?" She breathed to herself." But how do you know it's me?" She looked at Night, and he looked at another fox. One that was silver, with a hint of black. She looked gently at Myst." I am Silver Storm and I have the gift of seeing the future." Myst stared at her with wide, awed eyes." The Silver Storm? The one that defeated the Rebels?" Silver Storm laughed gently." Yes, that was me." Myst narrowed her eyes." If you can see the future, why don't you know who the other foxes in the prohecy are?" "My powers are limited." She explained." I can only see parts of it and usually its the part that shows the more important foxes that are in the prophecy." "Oh" Myst said. The starry wolves were beginning to fade."No! Don't go! Not Yet!" But they were gone. Myst opened her eyes and blinked."Wow" She muttered to herself." I've got a Mentor!" She shook her head in amazement. She stretched and looked around. If i'm going to stay here, i'm going to need a nest. She thought crawling through the endless maze of tunnels, following her fading scent until she popped out of the ground. When she looked around, the sky was dark. It was barely dawn. She quickly killed a rabbit and ate it before gathering some moss and taking it back for her nest. She finished about sunhigh. Myst smiled and began to slowly explore the den, making sure she had memorized each route by heart before exploring the next. It took a while, but Myst had each tunnel memorized. She knew every dead end and all the other escape routes. She was back in the first tunnel and wondering what to do with the other rooms that were empty. She had found a room pretty close to her own that she could keep extra prey in and pleanty of other rooms that would serve as good nesting areas too.Myst turned slowly around and spotted a new tunnel she hadn't noticed before. She crept into it, noting that it went straight and no other tunnels branched off of it. It led her to a room that hadmarkings all over the walls. Her eyes went wide and she turned slowly around to look at them all. Hundreds of old drawsing of foxes and other animals covered the walls.Myst even saw a few stick like figures she guessed were the humans. At the back of the room, the ground was littered with fur that had no scent was the color was faded. On very old nest crumbled to dust when she nudged it with her muzzle and a few bones littered the ground. This was the old denning area for the foxes ong before she was born. Long before they began livving away from each other and the beginning of the gathering.
"She said to me, forget what you thought,
cause good girls are bad girls
who haven't been caught,
so just turn around and forget what you saw,
cause good girls are bad girls who haven't been caught"
