Chapter 4: Dark clouds
All the MeadowClanners but Meadowstar safely made it to MeadowClan territory, the rain had turned into a steady pace and it stopped thundering, allowing the cats to be able to hear themselves again. "That got to be the most horrible gathering that happened to the clans EVER." Jaggedjaw muttered, his fur brushing his sister's. The two elders made up the rear of the group, since no MeadowClan warrior cared to do so. "I hope Meadowstar depromote Darkface. I just have a bad feeling about him." Frozenflower whispered into her brother's ear.
Darkface grunted.I have ears, you know. He thought to himself as he glared at the two elder from the front. Darkface never knew how great his power was. He had the ability to hear or see great distances. To him, he thought it was normal. He didn't know how the epicness of it. He never told Darkstorm, his dark forest mentor, and Darkstorm never did realize that his apprentice had the power. But even if Darkstorm knew of the power, he wouldn't really know how to tell his apprentice use it to his advantage.
The tired MeadowClanners padded into the entrance. Waterfall, one of the warriors that had stayed, padded up beside his boss. "So, boss. Did it go as planned?" He whispered. "Of course it did, Waterfall. Your ideas are always excellent. Too bad I couldn't get Meadowstar to bring you to the gathering to see our plans in action." Darkface chuckled. Rosetail came on the other side of Darkface. She had heard the conversation between Darkface and Waterfall. "Yeah, good timing, I think she was catching onto our little plan." She purred.
Whitepaw sulkily padded out of the apprentice den. He should of been asleep by now, but the white apprentice wanted to greet Dawnpaw and Foxpaw when they had came back. The apprentice looked around for Meadowstar. Dawnpaw liked to talk to the leader every chance she got. She said that Meadowstar was her role-model. But Meadowstar wasn't anywhere. "Cats of MeadowClan. I have much to tell about the gathering but it is late and we must get some rest for the next day. Remember, bright and early, we'll have a meeting tommorrow. Rosetail and Waterfall, I want you in the Leader's den. We have things to discuss." Darkface yowled.
"Where's Meadowstar?" Whitepaw asked. Darkface grinned. "Oh, she'll be back soon. Said she had an important errand to do." He slyly purred as he and his 'minions' (Rosetail and Waterfall) padded into the leader's den. Whitepaw wasn't sure about what Darkface meant. He didn't murder her or anything did he?
The next day
"All cats that are old enough to catch their prey please come to Meeting Hill for a meeting!" Darkface yowled, with both Rosetail and Waterfall at his side. a pile of fur laid below the Meeting Hill. Although the fur scented of fish and water, it was faintly scent of Meadowstar.
Poppyrose came trotting out of the nursery with her three kits following. When she saw the pile of fur, she gasped and frisked her kits off back into the nursery, despite their squealings of "Come on!" and "What's so bad?" When they were secured in the nursery, she sat in front of the entrance, her body blocking the view of Meeting Hill from the kits.
The three apprentices of MeadowClan padded out, one-by-one, to see the meeting. Whitepaw gasped when he saw the pile of fur. His greatest fear had come true! Meadowstar was dead! Dawnpaw and Foxpaw were shocked as well. They had never suspected what Darkface was up to!
When the whole clan had gathered, Darkface began the meeting. "First, we must begin with the details of the gathering. Otterstar made accuastions that us MeadowClanners and DarkClanners attacked his clan, the gathering ended up in diaster. Meadowstar told me that she had to do an errand and so I led the clan back. However me, Rosetail and Waterfall led the dawn patrol and we found Meadowstar's body on the shore of the lake. We believe LakeClanners did this in "revenge" for what we did. LakeClanners must not be trusted, nor any of the other clans for we don't know who killed Meadowstar. MeadowClanners, we have reached to a new era. The era of being a rouge clan. Morningrose had been a kittypet though she was one, she gave us useful information of a rouge clan living in twolegplace. It shall be the rise of the dark warriors. We must protect what is ours. and everything is OURS. Poor Meadowstar, she believed that every clan deserved a chance. But none deserve a chance after fighting during a gathering! There'll be some new changes for MeadowClan. Our name shall be StormClan not MeadowClan. MeadowClan is too peaceful. but we all know that our clan is never peaceful does not deserve the name. There'll be two leaders. Me and Lionstar, the rouge clan's leader. We'll have two deputies, Waterfall and Fallenway. Kits will be apprenticed at four moons, allowing us to have warriors quicker. Don't worry, Meadowstar might thought it was a bad idea, but believe me, it works. Together, RougeClan and MeadowClan shall become, StormClan!" Darkface yowled, with most of the clan reculantly calling out "StormClan! StormClan! StormClan!" By this time, the RougeClanners had crept up into the meeting, with the RougeCLan queens and a few warriors guided their kits into the nursery where a reculant Poppyrose allowed them to enter. RougeClan elders, many with fresh scars, joined Frozenflower and Jaggedjaw. RougeClan was numerous, they had more cats than MeadowClan had. The unsure MeadowClan warriors could only listen less the RougeCLan warriors were set upon them.
Whitepaw nervously allowed a young RougeClan----rather, a now StormClan apprentice---- apprentice to sit next to him. The kit-sized apprentice looked scared. Whitepaw tried to smile at the apprentice. Oh StarClan, this apprentice is but a kit! Whitepaw thought. "Hi, I'm Whitepaw. What's your name?" "Oh, you're a warrior already?" The young apprentice asked, her wide green eyes became huger, if that was even possible. They seemed like they could pop out her eye-lids anytime. "No. I'm an apprentice. In my clan, apprentices had the name "paw" at the end and warriors have something else. Like Darkface for example. His name was Darkkit as a kit, Darkpaw as an apprentice and now Darkface as a warrior and deputy. Of course, he'll became Darkstar for only leaders had star at the end of their name." Whitepaw patiently explained to the apprentice. "I'm Leaf. In my clan. You're just 'Leaf' or 'White' until you're a warrior, you get a name like Fallenway. Sometimes, a warrior name can be with a paw at the end like my mentor, Ashpaw." Leaf explained to Whitepaw. The two apprentices chattered about the differenances of their clan life but Whitepaw was uneasy. He sure didn't like the speech Darkface gave. Were they really going to try to take over all of the clans?
