Welcome, all new members! =)
Random post is random... but I do have a little idea that I'd like a second opinion on.
I was thinking of starting an action/adventure comedy... series? It would be a run of short stories centering on the same characters, sort of like a literary TV show with episodes. It would be directed at younger kids, so the plots would be pretty simple and the terms wouldn't be too hard to grasp. The main characters would be two enemies: a once-good secret agent who'd turned rogue and a mad scientist who was working for the "good guys." I would have fun exaggerating the characters... of course the agent would be handsome/strong/essentially a Gary-sue and have all those fun little gadgets that they always have in popular movies. The mad scientist would be typical - insane, tall and skinny, insecure, and not everything he'd do would make perfect sense. Yet somehow, the mad scientist would win every confrontation just because he was on the side of "good."

I thought it would be amusing to take two stereotypes to extremes and then flip the roles, but I don't know if that's just my loopy little mind or if anyone would actually want to read it. What do ya'll think?

What will we call you:Cherry

What are your goals as an author?
-Make my stories longer
-Have a variatiy in writing
-Write a creepy story
-Edit some, go back and reread and fix
-Dont rush writing
-MORE DETAIL
-have a sad ending for once
-try writing in the third person

Can you give us a sample of your writing? I lay in the snow, alone and freezing. The gashes on my hands are bleeding heavily and all I want to do is see my mom and dad. But thats not possible. There dead and no matter how many people I hurt, they would never come back. I start screaming, in addition to my sobs. I'm screaming at the world, the cruel world that is unfair. I don't know how long I stay in the snow bank but eventually the world spins, then darkens.

I wake with a start, expecting to be in prison, or with a social service worker, but instead, I'm in a house, a normal house. A fire is going and my hands are wrapped in gauze. I have on a new pair of sweats and a shirt. I'm laying on a couch, a blanket covering me. A woman is sitting on a coffee table, looking at me. "Hey, its ok, its ok," she says, as I try to jump up, my fight or flight senses kicking in.

Yes. So much YES! That would be epic! You could post it on CS if you wanted too, though, if you write as good as you think up ideas, I have a feeling you could get this published; whether its as like a comic book or graphic novel, or a series of novellas, I think it would totally work and I would definitely read it!
Just make sure the 'good' guy scientist cackles maniacally every once in a while! Maybe struggles with his evil nature or have people mistake him as the villain? That would be funny; having people continually help the rouge because they think he's the good guy. XD

Thank you! I'm glad to hear at least someone is interested in reading it. =P
I'll try to start work on them, and if progress is easy, I may post them on CS. ^^ I'm a bit self-conscious about my writing, though. It isn't that great.
That is a wonderful idea about having bystanders mistake the "good guy" for the "bad guy" and vice versa... I'd love to use that idea, if I may. It could be hilarious. :P

And, yes, I was going to have the scientist cackle and gloat quite a bit, as well as inserting the well-used lines occasionally.
(Well-used lines such as: "Ah, so-and-so, I've been expecting you." <<Only not quite like that. I'd have to look up some of those popular spy show one-liners. I'd only want to use ones that had already been taken by multiple people) ;)
But I'd change those lines a bit so they worked for a villainous secret agent, or a morally upstanding mad scientist. =P

That would be priceless! I'd read it for sure.
I also agree with Imagination (Agree with Imagination XD). It would be very funny to have people mistake the scientist for evil.

On a different note, do you guys believe I should continue writing the Dara/Marlin series? Most of my previous stories had animals as the main characters and was featured in the quad world. However, I have come to a realization. The truth is, I don't enjoy reading from an animal's point of view, and I'm not sure publishers will accept it unless it's very good. My writing is not very good, therefore I decided to do something different this time :P

MBRShorse: Thank you for accepting me! Hmm, a writing partner sounds interesting. I'd happily do it on a project or two. Does anyone want to collaborate?

EDIT: I know a famous James Bond line. "The name is Bond, James Bond." Maybe you can switch that up a bit and use it? I'll gladly do some research for you to find some other famous lines ^^

EDIT 2: “Go go gadget!”
-Inspector Gadget :D

"Why?" The girl cried. "Why can't we be together? I love you more than anything, yet you reject me."
The boy tore away. "I-I'm sorry. I can't tell you."
She wept. "I must know. Please, tell me why."
The boy stayed silent.
"Please..." She said. "I love you."
He finally replied. "I can't love you because...because you are a pirate."
The girl stared at him. "I'm a what?"
"You are a pirate, you're all pirates except me! Because I'm a princess!"
The girl narrowed her eyes. "Isn't it the other way around? I am a pirate, you are a princess?"
"NU! You are a pirate, and I'm a pretty pretty princess! M'kay?!"
"What?"
"Problem?"

Vrazda- Epicness! Seriously, even if you don't post it on CS or Figment or anything, you should so PM it to me! I really want to read it! I can also proofread or edit if you want ^.^

Ok, so I took earlier given advice into consideration- what do you guys think now?

If you could be a character from a book, movie, or play, who would you choose to be and why?

This was a difficult one; with so many incredible characters in so many incredible books, it took a lot of consideration. However, I think if it was up to me, I would quite like to be Stephanie Edgley, from the Skulduggery Pleasant Series.
Though she originally had a less than interesting background, Stephanie Edgley’s world quickly became more exciting the moment her grandfather died and, in turn, Skulduggery Pleasant appeared. As she battled wicked and demonic creatures under the guide of her undead mentor, Stephanie showed more and more of her courageous and intelligent nature. Though there are quite a few times when she is overcome with terror, she never lets fear control her. She keeps up her sharp tongue and quick-wit even in the face of peril and never ceases to amaze me with her believable, yet ingenious personality, which seems to grow through each and every book. Stephanie Edgly proves once and for all that the well known phrase, “Bravery is not the absence of fear, but the knowledge that something else is more important.” is incredibly true, as time and time again she battles it out with people and things so twisted and grotesque, that not in her most deadly nightmares could she imagine them, yet she still has the courage to go along with a seemingly insane undead sorcerer and do her best to keep the world, and the people in it, safe.
In short, it is her exhilarating life, courageous nature, sharp tongue, and quick wit which make me both admire, and wish to be, Stephanie Edgley.

Okay, so since everyone is sharing ideas, I thought I would run my book plot before all you guys :3 I have NO idea what the title will be but here we go:

So, my book is about a girl, around 18 years old. She had a sister, who was 3 months older than her. Her sister was adopted, and was much diffrent than the biological daughter. The biological daughter, Avery, is mourning her sisters death in the beginning of the book. Many people from her and her sisters lives comes to Avery, and Avery soon learns that she needs to continue living her life, despite how she feels. Avery one day finds her sister's, Melody, bucket list and is sent across the world doing the things her sister wanted to do. Some of these things Avery would never think of doing, because of her shy persoanlity. But since Melody was so outgoing and smart, Avery knows good will come out of it. After she does most of these things, she is sent back home to do the last thing. Avery finds her true self throughout the whole thing, and learns to cope with the feelings she has after her sisters passing.

That sounds amazing; it sounds like something John Green would write! ^.^ And if you know how much I love John Green, you should know what a huge compliment that is! <333 So yes, I think that sounds epic!
