I've made a fantasy/suspenseful piece of literature that I'd like someone to critique in their spare time. The link is in my signature, I would like to be private messaged any ideas for the book. Thanks!
Please support my pregnancy!

So, new plot idea/work in progress. :3 I spew a lot and they don't usually go far—most are still empty documents on my computer—but I have high hopes for this one. It's a huge collaboration of all the different themes I like to incorporate in my works, and several of my older characters are going to get a part in it. I’d love for feedback and thoughts before I begin.

The basic plot begins with the main character, whom was born with a mental illness and has had it since he can remember. It is never described in the book [I have a sort of idea where the name would be scrawled out in print], but what we do know is it causes major problems for him. He has nightmares, and these nightmares become meddled with his reality to a point he can’t draw a line between them. He draws up many ‘friends’ and enemies from these hellish allusions and dreams, and they began to appear in his life, in and out of his mind. It’s just a crazy mindset with no true meaning or right answer.

I've always wanted to write a short story which involves a person exploring a magical land (ala Narnia or Wonderland), but as the story goes on, it gets weirder and weirder until we get a glimpse of reality (maybe) where it's revealed that the person has severe schizophrenia. An interesting twist could be that one of the nightmarish creatures is actually the nurse trying to give her an anti-psychotic, which brings her out of it... and it's not clear which is reality and which is fantasy.

But it would only really work as a short-story, and I stink at short-stories. >->

Mrrr, sorry to not reply for a while. Thanks for the interest! Since you guys showed so much, I'm intending to actually write this, as a short-story (eek). We'll see how it goes.

Maerorem, thanks for the warning on writing insanity. ^-^ Believe me, I'm well aware of how difficult it is. Happily, my mum (who has a Bachelor's in Psychology) has agreed to help me in writing a schizophrenic, so, er, yay. I may enter your contest too, although I don't know what I'd put down as a point of muse.
INSANELY BUSY!
I am moving! For the next month or so, I am going to be so very busy.
If I'm on here, it's because I'm unwinding with writing or pets or whatever.
Please do not add to my stress, if you can. Your support is appreciated.

For point of muse, I guess you just put down whatever inspired you, whether that be a flimsy idea or a quote or whatever. It doesn't necessarily have to be something major. XD

DID I GET YOUR ATTENTION?!?!?!?!!?

Hey guys! I've got a new warriors fanfic up and I'd love if you could read it. It's actually not even connected to the books except for a little bit - I have my own characters and Clans - so it doesn't matter if you haven't read the books.

Anyway, here's the summary if you're not sure c:

Hundreds of moons have passed since the time of, as this generation calls it, "shadow, sky, thunder, and river", and now four new Clans rule the forest, new forms of their extinct predecessors. But, unbeknownst to them, one Clan hasn't taken its rightful place on these new lands. As a prophecy known to only one leader comes to pass, the world that these cats thought they knew well begins to change forever. Blood will spill, the belief of StarClan will sway, and two Clans will rise to take their place. But there can only be one.

If you liked, here's the link! I'd love if you could critique and comment there, thanks!

Gosh. I wish there was a forum on here to hunt down beta readers .-. I would make a thread, but I doubt anyone would sign up for it xD.
I'll be finishing my book soon... and it's going to be difficult to find people to beta test.

Because I am very lazy and haven't posted in awhile, and also reality difficulties, I haven't replied to this post! If you still need one more person to beta read it, I'd be more than happy to do that for you ;)

I'd still be doubly careful when writing about a schizophrenic. Having a bachelor's degree in psychology sadly doesn't make you an expert on schizophrenia, as much as I'd like it to be so. It takes a lot of experience to know the nuances of it. Just reading about it and having some practical experience as a trainee or something isn't enough. I just turned in my bachelor thesis (in psychology) and was a trainee in a psychiatric ward and met schizophrenics, talked to them, etc. But I still don't really know all that much about it in practice. What I do know is that even severe cases are not living in a different world all the time. They're actually pretty normal, maybe except for some quirks and strange behaviour and speech from time to time. Or when they're in a psychotic episode.
A really good idea would be to read forums for schizophrenics. Some share their stories, what it's like for them, how they manage their everyday life, etc. I think talking to them and experiencing them is still the best way to get it down mostly right. And if you can't talk to them directly, the internet is a great resource because of those forums where they meet up to chat. ^^
(you just mustn't expect to get it all the way right. I don't think that's possible for non-schizophrenics anyway xD)

That said, I'd reaaally like to read it once you write it. I love twisted tales like that :3 Especially since it's about stuff I'm very interested in |D
