The sacred tree reminds me of Steve... Oh, poor Steve, do they still worship you, or did your godliness leave with us, as we left elementary school?
Steve was a tree, and the pinecones that fell from his godly branches were the sacred cause for our exsistence in that unnimaginably boring school yard... We tirelessly collected the endless supply of 'cones, filling that stupid tire and guarding it with our lives.
There were wars, and there were betrayals, spies and secret allies, but underneath all the violence and the devoted worshipping, we were just a bunch of little kinds chucking pinecones and crying over the loss of poor mr tinklybottoms (the biggest of Steve's children) whom the boys stole from us.
