"Hey! You! Wake up! It's dangerous out here!" Myst opened one eye and saw a young male fox gazing at her anxiously. Her gaze took him in carefully. He was a little younger than Myst, maybe a few weeks younger. The fox's fur was a bright, flaming red. His eyeswere wide and were amber. Myst opened the other eye. "What do you want?" She asked, tiredly. " Don't be grumpy" He told her blinking at her. "You should get outta here! There are dogs and humans around!" Myst narrowed her eyes. Did this fox think she was dumb? " No! I never noticed." She said sarcasticlly. The fox ignored her rude attitude. ''I'm Forest." He introduced himself. "And you are?" "Mystic Moon" She anwsered, annoyed at having gone to sleep and being woken up, but partly relived she was safe. " Want to play?" He asked gazing up at her hopefully and Myst smiled. He reminded her of Windy. "Al-" Her voice was cut off. Forest was babbling about playing tag with his friends. Myst rolled her eyes. She had no time for play. "Look, I have to go.Theres hunting to be done and I have to clean my nest." She said when Forest paused for breath. He blinked. "Okay. I'll see you later?" Myst shurgged and he seemed to take it as a yes. "Great! You can meet Crimson and Flash Flood and everyone!" He chirped excitedly. "Well, bye" Myst said turning around to leave. "Bye!" He called back. Myst shook her head. Half of her thought he was annoying and the other half thought he was kinda cute. Eww! Myst thought, wrinkling her nose. It wasn't that he wasn't nice or anything, but Myst still thought males to be gross and disgusting. The trail branched off, and Myst veered awayto take the new trail. She ducked under, low hanging branches and step-sided brambles. The soft, quiet gurgle of a river, broke the silence, as well as a few birds. She settled herself on the shore of the river and gazed intently in it. A flash of silver indicated a fish swimming by. Myst's paw shot through the water and scooped the fish onto the ground. It lay there flopping around wildly and Myst killed it. She gobbled it up and quickly washed her muzzle and paws before going to her den. Shestopped just infront of it, her tail twitching irritably. The den was a mess. The bramble walls she'd worked so hard on were torn apart. Her nest was torn apart to.Tufts of dog fur were caught on bramble tendrils. Myst snarled her anger. It'd taken her a long time to fix up the bramble barriers and her nest. She sniffed the air. The scent of dogs and humans was stale and fading fast. Myst sighed and began fixing it up again. Anger still burned in her heart and felt like attacking them. But the more sensible, calmer side of her told her that she'd just get herself killed. The bad side of Myst, kept arguing, saying that the dogs deserved to be attacked for ruining her home and making Myst homeless for a while. "Maybe Whisper would let me stay with her." She said to herself.
"She said to me, forget what you thought,
cause good girls are bad girls
who haven't been caught,
so just turn around and forget what you saw,
cause good girls are bad girls who haven't been caught"
