@_@ I'm sorry for the long gaps in updating. From now on if I do not post on other days, I shall always, always update on Saturday unless something major pops up. If I break that promise, feel free to hunt me down and devour me in the night. Although that would suck. Anyway, here's the newest entry in Noobcake! Oh, and it is impossible to make a book as Chickensmoothie is copyrighted. Pip pip cheerio and all that.
Dear Noobcake,
Wow. Last night was pretty epic. I'm just saying. You know. Getting chased, getting saved, and meeting a female wolf whose parents must have been way too psyched about naming their pup. Anyway.
Xanri...something something...something...really long name insert here...urm...anyway. I called the hospital wolves, and they took What's-Her-Bucket to the hospital. I went there too. You know. She had just sort of saved Junior, Beauty, Gothie and me. In fact, I called Gothie up to bully him into going. It was the first time I was able to get him to do something he didn't want to do.
So we went. And waited. Forever. Apparently when she fought Metallic, the evil robot thing had gouged her pretty good. She had to have surgery and whatnot.
I think I fell asleep.
Twice.
And then I called up Greenbutt to let him know I wasn't dead or something.
As if he would even care.
Anyway.
The nurse came by to let us know when Xanri was out of surgery. She didn't really want us to go in. Something about exciting her. Pffft. Whatever.
It was pretty darn late. Even after the brief nap I had, I was yawning. Gothie looked exactly the same as ever, but he seemed tired. It was the way he walked.
So we went in, and saw...Xanri...I'm just going to call her that. Her real name is so freaking long. She was sitting up, her eyes bright, obviously waiting for us.
"Hello, boys," she said crisply. "I suppose you are here to thank me for your lives and whatnot?"
I gaped. Gothie drifted over to the magazines in a corner pocket thing, and started reading one. I looked at the wolf in the bed, and opened my mouth. "Well um...yeah."
Xanri smiled softly, and winced as she moved. I glanced at her fur. I had never seen such intricate designs on fur before. It was almost planned. Xanri caught me staring.
"I presume you have a lot of questions for me. So, before you waste your breath voicing things I already know the answer to, I shall answer. Yes, my name is a mouthful. But I accept that you both have the attention spans of small butterflies hopped up on Red Bull. So yes, you may call me Xanri." She tossed her head slightly, and her glistening fur caught moonlight coming in through a gap in the closed blinds.
I stared. I couldn't help it. She had kind of...said everything for me. Except for the fur pattern thing. But lo and behold, she would answer that too. But I am getting ahead of myself, for that didn't happen until later.
Xanri adjusted her bed covers, and eyed me shrewdly. "I chose my name for myself. It summarizes my life. Interesting isn't it? Anyway. I am exhausted from saving your sorry behinds, and I do believe we are done here."
Just then, as if she had timed it, the nurse came back in. "Visiting hours are far from over. It's time for you boys to go home."
Gothie and I headed back, as ordered.
"She is one freaky girl," Gothie said. He was sucking on one of those complimentary hospital suckers. "Dude, you said about three words back there. She said about fifty. Usually, you talk so much wolves don't get a word in." And then he quickly left.
I walked home. Alone. On Halloween. Well past midnight. I was very, very creeped out. But I returned home, without more incident.
It just kind of left me wondering...you know. If Metallic was still out there. Probably her mates were still in prison, but she wasn't.
Anyway. Bye Noobcake.
