I have a balloon dog, if you still need a mascot. ^.^; *only read the first page* XD

Well, anyway, I won't be writing for this month's edition as exams start on the 22nd and I haven't even started studying yet! D: Oh, no. I have them all the way until the 27th, and I know I can't write on the weekend because the next edition will be out by then!

I mean, I could get an article done on the morning of the 25th... but that may be too late.

Howling ghosts they reappear
In mountains that are stacked with fear
But you're a king and I'm a lionheart

Glad to see this is still going. Um, I had some ideas in the last thread, but I was pretty ignored... so... :\ Anyway...

Username- .: T O K I :.
Why do you want to join?- I like the idea of a newspaper, and I think it would be a fun and interesting experience. I am also very good at writing and editing. I have experience being a staff (whether that be on a forum, etc.) so I know how to professionally handle different situations.
Do you consider yourself a good writer?- Honestly, by my own standards, I would consider myself semi-literate. However, I began writing on a forum that was made for role playing as opposed to many different things such as ChickenSmoothie. For "ChickenSmoothie standards", I would be considered very literate. Examples of my writing can be seen in this role play, this role play, and any post by .: T O K I :. at this forum (most in archives).
Are you good at grammar and spelling?- I believe this is answered by the statement above, but yes, my spelling is "near perfect" due to the fact that I just naturally try to make sure my spelling is good and because my computer has a built-in spellchecker as I type. My grammar is advanced compared to many members on ChickenSmoothie, but as many, a times I can get some things wrong and some rules confused such as comma placement.
Anything you like or are particularly good at? I am particularly good at editing, although it's not always my favorite. I do like writing about things, but honestly, I really only like writing when it's on a subject I am interested in. However, in my suggestion below, I am good at drawing. What I can do in that area to help the newspaper is explained below.
Other (optional)- n/a

I'd like to apply for staff, too. :3 I guess you have enough writers, so I could be an editor for everyone and anyone if that's available. I also had this idea where I could be an artist/cartoonist and draw some pictures or something for some articles? oWo

However, if you do need a writer, about anything, I'd be happy to do that too. Really, I'll be happy wherever you want to put me. P:

ALSO. I think you guys shouldn't just write about what's popular. Everyone knows who's popular. I think it would be more interesting if you wrote about new up-comig artists with potential. As for popular role plays, there aren't really popular role plays. Role plays that look popular with a lot of posts are 99% of the time just some members who post one or two lines eery one or two minutes. It's more quantity than quality, and quality is what makes a good role play.

Another idea, someone could pick a post from the CS Trends thread and write about that. Umm... someone could talk about current month newborns. Also ahh... same idea as upcoming artists, you could talk about adoption centers from the User-Made Adoptables board, and maybe eve. feature a pet, kind of loke the local news features pets from animal shelters. Of course, with this, the role plays, and artists, I think you should get permission first. I think it would also be nice to feature some artists from the Oekaki, not one's already featured and not ones in Intermediate. Again, everyone knows who's already popular. An interview with the new staff would be cool, and if so, I would like to interview Kaitou. X3

So far those are my ideas, and I hope it spreads around a bit so you guys don't keep fighting about a subject. o.O;; I'll post more if I think of some.

Awesome Toki, thanks for replying! It would be great if you could interview one of the new mods, that's a good idea. You could also do a column about artists on CS, but I don't know if that interests you or not, you just mentioned it in your post.

Your balloon dog would be a great mascot Amberleaf. Just post the image code on this thread. Sorry WWG, but I do think that this might be better.

It's not too late to submit an article on the morning of the 25th, but if you're too busy don't feel like you have to.

I can definitely do the interview. X3 I'll work on a column about artists to, and I'll try to get it done quick as to see how far I can go. :3

Whoops, forgot to mention this. We're going for something on the rares list? I've got a good variety of dogs (since I'm only like 4 pages away from complete collection OTL). :B I have a dogtag or UR Tiger Dog (except... I dressed them up). HOWEVER... I think it would be cool if we had a mascot that others wouldn't think as a mascot. Maybe it doesn't have to be rare, you know? I thought the Shima BW was pretty, or perhaps a Cerberus, or UR BW... o3o;

Wow...you have a lot of pets. It would be neat to have a pet people didn't think of as a 'mascot' but it kind of annoys me when people have commons and uncommons as mascots. I looked through your pets (stalkerish xD) and your yellow sorbet would be cool, and the items are perfect. We could definitely use that if you didn't mind.

Haha, thanks! And I don't mind. ^^

By the way, do you think I should interview one of the new staff members, or a few of them?

Why do you want to join?- I was in the last one.
Do you consider yourself a good writer?- Yes. Not as good as my younger sister, though.
Are you good at grammar and spelling?- Very. I take pride in it. And, if you're 'text talking' you should know I'm cringing my teeth as I read it.
Anything you like or are particularly good at? Graphics design and writing.
Other (optional)- Could I help out with editing? Also, do we need a banner for the paper? I could throw something goo together.

@Toki-another one of our members had already interviewed Clownesia, it had just never gotten published yet. I thought maybe we could have that in this article and in the next one in the first weekend of July we could have your interview. You could interview as many people as you wanted, but we probably shouldn't have more than one interview in each paper.

@Geeks&Shotguns-we probably don't need any other editors because everyone PM's me their articles and I just look over them right there, and pretty far everyone's has been pretty literate. It would be awesome if you could make a banner though. :)

Re: The CS Gazette First edition June 25th!

Postby SejiYume » Tue Jun 21, 2011 7:10 am

I am leaving for camp very shortly, and will be gone through Thursday. I will be back on Friday, or possibly Thursday afternoon. Continue to PM me your articles, I will get them when I come back. So far we have four articles lined up for the paper, it would be great if we could have at least six. Toki is my assistant manager, she will be in charge of the thread when I'm gone. Our newspaper will come out sometime on Saturday, probably in the morning. I'll be back in a few days, until then, happy writing!
