It'd been three days since my mother had explained to me about my father's past and his death. My brain had been struggling to retain all the information I'd been told. There was a group of men out there who called themselves The Ravelens. My father had been a memeber of this group. The members all had abilities, powers. My father had once had those powers before he'd been killed by a few members. His abilities had been passed down to me. I could do things like no other human. I was also the first female to show signs of having such abilities. My mother did not see these powers as a gift, but a curse.


Seeing as I am not quite an adult yet, my job options are rather limited. However, I was lucky enough to have found myself a job working at the stable in town. The stable isn't very big but few are willing to clean stalls all day for such a small pay. I on the other hand do not mind cleaning stalls, and any pay is better than no pay in household. Plus, every once and a while I am given the chance to ride some of the horses boarded at the stable. Therefore, I quite enjoy the days where I am ushered off to work.

Today was one of those days. Mother had gotten up extra early to prepare a lunch for me and to get breakfast ready for the little ones. Once the little ones were awake, all havoc broke loose in the house. The kids were just bundles of energy and could not be contained for the lives of mother and I. We tried but failed. Mother was ready to explode by the time I left. The time for me to go to work couldn't have come soon enough. I grabbed my lunch and was out the door before my mother could utter another word.

Outside the air was warm and the slight breeze that drifted through the air tickled my arms and calmed my nerves. The fresh air felt wonderful and helped clear my mind.
