"Hey, Northstar!" The grey she-cat looked down, and saw Snaketalon waiting for her. She leaped down from the branch she was perched on to stand beside the calico she-cat.
"What's wrong?" Northstar asked.
"Have you seen Larkpaw?" Snaketalon panted. She looked worn out, and Northstar could help but smile. Ever since she made Snaketalon Larkpaw's mentor, she had been chasing the white apprentice around. It wasn't like Larkpaw didn't like to train, but she loves to run off out of camp without having anyone come with her.
"I haven't seen her, have you checked with Cinderpaw and Cactuspelt?" She suggested.
"Heatherfur said he's getting herbs, and I saw you before I saw Cactuspelt." Snaketalon replied.
"Did someone say my name?" The two she-cats turned to see the spikey-furred warrior.
"Have you seen Larkpaw?"
"Well, I, uh....how urgent is it that you find her?" Cactuspelt stammered.
"Very!" Snaketalon hissed. "We're supposed to be battle training right now!"
"Well...she said she was going to the drop-off..." The drop-off was a rather high sandy bank that overlooked a section of the beach, and then ended in a steep wall. It could be dangerous, if you were to fall, and land in the wrong spot, you could break your neck.
"Why in the name of StarClan would you let her go there!" Northstar hissed.
"I don't think you give her enough credit! She can take care of herself," Cactuspelt replied.
"I don't have time for an explination, I have to go find her," Snaketalon pelted out of camp, turning towards the drop off.
Northstar turned back to Cactuspelt. He was looking at his paws, and his tail was drooping. "I'm sorry Northstar, I shouldn't of let her go."
She knew she could argue with that, he should've made her come back and wait for Snaketalon. But she knew he didn't mean any harm to come to her, he just didn't want to step on her fun. "Don't worry, I'm sure she's fine. She would've figured out a way to get there anyway."
Cactuspelt brightened up a bit. "Hey Cactuspelt!" They both turned to see Birdsong. "Rabbitcatch, Runningleap, and I are going hunting. You want to come?"
Cactuspelt looked back at Northstar, seeing if she wanted him to stay. When she nodded, he bounded over to the three warriors. "Sure!"
Northstar smiled to herself. The Clan was finally pulling together. Maybe, one day, things will become normal. The horrors of what happened will just disappear. She then saw Icecloud and Ravencall padding across camp towards the fresh-kill pile. Well, as close to normal as we can. Some cats, like Icecloud and Cactuspelt, still showed effects from them. Cactuspelt was starting to become more care-free, but it sometimes seemed like something was on his mind. Icecloud wasn't spewing what sounded like prophecies and omens anymore, but she was still rather, strange.
"Northstar!" She turned to see Heatherfur standing at the entrance to the medicine cat den.
"What is it?" The silver tabby asked, padding over.
"Can I speak with you?" Northstar nodded, and followed the ginger-and-white she-cat into the medicine cat den. "I just had a vision."
"Really? What...what happened?"
"I was taken to StarClan's forest, but I was awake. I saw the outlines' of lots of cats. I recognized a lot of them from RockClan, and I assume the rest were from ArcticClan." Heatherfur began. "Then some of them stepped out. That white tom you were talking to when we met, Wolfcall, Foxtrap, Longfang, Leopardpaw, Darkmask, Bluelight, Snowpatch, Oakstar, Thrushfeather, Meadowflower, and Cloudshadow; plus some kittypets. They said their names were Cleo, Oliver, and Angel. They said they lived with Ozzy, and that Cleo and Oliver came with the Clan."
Northstar nodded, curiousity pricking her pelt. "So, Wolfcall said straight out front that just because you'd found a safe place for the Clan doesn't mean your finished. He said that you still need to find the sun cat, so you can put the moon cat at rest. He said you'd know what that meant."
She felt her pelt start to bristle. Why can't he just leave me alone! It's not my problem anymore!
"Um, Northstar, Heatherfur..." The to she-cats turnted to see Ravencall pushing his way into the den. "Before you say anything, just hear me out. I overheard you two talking, and I have something to confess."
Northstar took a deep breath and paused before responding. "Well, go on Ravencall."
"I...I am the moon cat. Snowpatch and I have kept it a secret since I got the necklace. When we found out we'd be moving, and since Snowpatch was going, I had her take it there and hide it. But the whole disaster happened, we went the other way, and she was killed before she could tell me where the necklace was." Ravencall replied quietly, almost inaudible.
"But...you...you mean you don't know where the necklace is! This is bad, this is very bad. The three of us are going to have to go search for it. We have to find it!" Northstar panicked.
"It's not over," All three cats turned to see Icecloud standing in the entrance.
This was one of the times when the strange side of Icecloud came out. Ravencall got to his paws and padded towards her. He always could tell something was up when Icecloud was like this.
Before Northstar could ask, to cries split the air. "Northstar!"
"Mom!"
Northstar recognized Snaketalon and Larkpaw's voices. She shoved past Heatherfur, Ravencall, and Icecloud and burst into the clearing, scared out of her mind by her daughter's terrified tone. "What's wrong?" she demanded.
"Owleye is dead!" Larkpaw shrieked.
"What?"
"His body is by the drop-off, come on!" Snaketalon hissed, turning tail and charging out of camp.
"Larkpaw, go find Birdsong's hunting patrol. Tell her what happened." Northstar turned, and turned to her medicine cat. "Come with me,"
"Larkpaw, Cinderpaw should be out looking for herbs. Get him to come with you, and then have him come to the drop-off with Birdsong." Heatherfur meowed before following Northstar out.
"There's something else, I didn't want to say this infront of Ravencall, but there was one last thing Wolfcall said." Heatherfur meowed to Northstar once they had left the camp behind. "He said there was danger. There are two cats lurking. They don't know Clan loyalty or forgiveness. Both are willing to do anything to get what they want. There won't be peace with them here."
Before Northstar could respond, Snaketalon called back to them. "Talonclaw was the one who told us. He said he found Owleye's body at the bottom of the drop-off. He was pretty beat up."
Northstar skidded to a hault at what she saw as the burst through the trees. He really is gone.
