Chapter 1o
-------->Continuation
I'm cramped, squished against the window so Grasswhistle has room to work her magic. I see her growling and pulling at some wires, shaving the end off of one of them. I look back up and see our four legged friend come trotting around the corner, lips pulled back in a growl. Behind him a few others step out, eyes bright yellow. I notice that they are all big dog breeds and mutts. No purse dogs there.
Rosethorn snaps her head around and leans over to look out the window, crushing me into the cracked up seats.
"Get off of me!" I grunt, trying to shove her off. She scowls and sits back, RIGHT as the dogs reach the car. They're scrabbling at the doors, barking and snarling. I flinch instinctively as they hurl themselves at us. Looking to the left I see the window I came we all came through is still down.
"Grasswhistle, window!" I hiss. Grasswhistle grunts and does nothing.
"Grasswhistle, they're going to jump in!" I say, waving my arms for empasis. I end up smacking Thorns upside the head but she doesn't respond, just shouts at the dogs outside.
Grasswhistle still isn't concerned.
And then I hear the wonderfully blessed sound of an old truck starting up. Okay, it sounds like an old man choking to death, but meh.
Immediatley, Grasswhistle sits up, not bothering to stick the panels she's dismantled back into place. She stomps on the acceleration and we roar out of the parking lot, the dogs howling and attempting to give chase. We manage to get out without being eaten by Mr. Growly and friends, and are soon soaring out of dog territory.

"That was... interesting," Rose yawns, stepping gracefully from the vehicle. I stumble out after her, trying to get the feeling back into my legs. I had been squished on the way out, seeing as the car was made for two people, not three.
"Interesting?" Grasswhistle says skeptically. "A new book is interesting. An art museum is interesting. Seeing Dagger run after Coon with a fishing pole is interesting. Having to mangle the inner workings of a smelly van and escape from dogs is not interesting."
Rose scowls and walks towards our final waiting place, the chinese takeout I hid in with Coon. If anything, this would be the best place to begin looking for our enemies. Grasswhistle and I follow. Rose looks even more paranoid now, stalking carefully around the building before shooing us inside. Grasswhistle stakes out one of the booths as a sleeping place and reclines on the wall.
"You get first watch," Rose says, pointing at me before crawling into a corner to sleep. Joy, I get to be alone again, possibly attract a bear this time instead of a dog. Looking back, I see Rose is already out, Grasswhistle still relaxing.
((I type more tomorrow. But not now. As usual, I suffer from PPP and plain ole lazy authoritis, so mrrf :P))
Glancing out the window, I see hints of light in the horizon, signalling morning.
