Is there anything that always/almost always causes you to stop reading a diary?

- Grammar

I really hate saying this, because there are so many amazing stories out there and so many brilliant minds at work... But when there's some kind of grammar that irritates me, it pushes me off the edge. Eventually, I get so frustrated that I just give up on it.

- Powerplay

This is probably the reason that makes me leave more than anything. Of course our characters are meant to survive some pretty impossible stuff- that's a given. But some things are just kinda like... Ehhhh... Like always being able to dominate over someone or show them up no matter what. I mean, there's no good twists to that and it's not like I'm embarrassing the queen bee of my school everyday either.

- Comments covering everything

yup. I'm always really sad when I leave a story

gosh, I feel bad because
A - I had lots of short entries
B - I had soooo many comments about the Archie x Cleocatra litter that it blocked so much, dangit (luckily I have a table of contents)

Might need to do some 'fanservice' about that litter later on... I finally have a plan for that entry :P

Um.... Yeah.

I don't really like family members or others writing in my diary.... (Unless the main character can't write for some reason) Even though I did that way early in the Hawk. I've learned my lesson....
Spelling. I get it that some people have accidental errors because they use a phone or something, but please try!
Capitalizing. Not much to say here, but it's like spelling. Try it.
Super long entries that come in once a month. I like shorter entries and active diaries, but I guess I still hang half on to them.
Text talk. It doesn't sound... like they've worked hard on it. Yeah, sure, slang like LOL and XD might work, but making half the diary with text talk doesn't sound great.
Grammar. I have grammar mistakes sometimes but I never notice them... But try, at least.
Perfect characters. Your character(s) has strengths, yes, but also weaknesses. That what makes your diary... good.
Dressed characters. I don't like diaries that have Raven Dogs and stuff that were gotten off the archives.
Not too many plot twists. My Hawk has too many plot twists right now, yes, but I've got so many things to do. I promised a collab with Splashtail while I was in my robot scene, but right after that... I'm planning to stop with the special things for a couple more entries after this and keep it normal.
Your character crushes on someone and he/she crushes back right away. It takes time....
Diaries who allow people to submit characters - their character gets sorted and is never seen again. Okay, I get it if you have lots of characters to worry about - but please, at least try to fit them in.

It would work if the main character is a little kid, but seriously...
-Bad spelling
Yep. Seriously people, when you spell things wrong, they are underlined with red, and you can right click it to fix the spelling, how can you not notice? Though, I understand small letter mistakes
But I can't really talk since I had to go back and fix some old Apple entries, such as the title, it said "~Silvers Apple Dairy~" instead of '~Silvers Apple Diary' /).< Oh and the way I spelt the word 'Which' as 'Witch'... Whoops?

Seriously, we need more action, humour, romance! Not just a snotty girl saying "Ew. Outcast" to everyone!
-When people enter characters, and the characters appear in the sorting entry, and never appearing again.
This needs no further explanation.
Well, okay, I'll admit I'm guilty on this one, and I've done it in the past, but not any more, in future entries at the current school in the Apple pancake, I'm planning to have the characters people enter appear pretty frequently.
-Bright, neon colours that require highlighting
Yep. I seriously hate it when a character has a bright neon talking colour that you have to highlight to read, same with light, pastel colours that you can barely see.
But, I guess I'm guilty on that one too, since the talking colour for Dakota's mother is a light, pastel green that you have to highlight to read... But I'll fix that in future entries.

Punctuation- What is this? Did a 4yr old write this? I can't even describe this feeling right now.

Text talk- I did this before, but wow. I can't.. Bye Diary.

Yes. A lot, in fact.

Grammar, spelling, capitalization Doing them wrong bothers me A LOT. It feels like they didn't put much effort in it.

Text talk It bothers me too. Those popular words like toodles, hai, bai, I can't even, swag, bae, nupe, and stuff always bothers me. Unless your character is a popular person obsessed with text talk, using those words doesn't really improve your diary. It just makes me think that you're trying to be popular, and this isn't high school.

Typical diaries Yeah. Those "hi, today we had new student, *inserts pic*, yeah bye" posts bores me out right away.

Neon colors My computer once had a glitch that made everything on the screen look a lot brighter, and there were way too colorful diaries that I can't read at all unless I use my phone. We're here to read the entry, not take an eye test.

A little news here everyone.
I don't want to continue the Blueberry anymore. I just don't feel like it. There's been a lot going through my life these days, so I can't add stress over stress. After having a virtual fight with my irl friend today (and calling myself "Trash" a few times), I don't want to do anything about writing anymore, because it's too much stress for me. Plus my writing is horrible and no one likes it, so what's the point in continuing to do my diary if all I'm going to produce is horrible trash?

I probably will still be in this HQ, but I won't be writing diary entries anymore. I will most probably continue participating in the CS Pet Diary Contest though, but the Blueberry... It's been dead, and it shall remain dead.

(I'm sorry if I sound a bit rude, I'm feeling horrible today.)

I will miss the Blueberry, and the virtual friend fights, I've been there too. It sucks. I lost a friend because of it and I won't be getting that one back. I hate it when you think someone is your bestfriend and they end up the opposite. <- It was a fight between me and someone else and they got her involved. She sided with the other person.
I hope things get better for you soon. Maybe you can continue the Blueberry sometime in the future? It's your choice, but there is a group of fans out here that love it and will miss it.

(I wrote most of this post before Snowflakette posted, so I kinda sound like an ass for ignoring her. Still, I'm not good at comforting people, so... my condolences.)

Well, it certainly seems everyone hates bad grammar. xD Personally, I can stand mistakes in such things as long as the plot, characters, etc are fine. Or if it's because the main character is uneducated or something. I once read a diary-style book like that... It was set in olden times, with errors dotting each page - missing quotation marks and such, since the main character didn't have enough money for school. The grammar improved as she took lessons.

And stereotypical characters... omg. I don't mind a few people fitting stereotypes, or background people having a basic personality. I'm not going to spend hours carefully building upon somebody who shows up for three seconds. But main characters should have more to them than "cheerful person" or "smart but weak nerd"...

Also, having family members write in the diary? What d'you mean by that? A character's family steals the diary and writes in it?
