It's true we really don't know much of that cat's situation; as Amber said, it's always possible that the cat really is as much of a pest as the street cats and the Collars claim, then playing hero might do more harm than good/isn't really worth the risk, among a bunch of other cons. The whole situation is also pretty risky, because we don't know how the Collars will react if we pull the Charlie card on them; they could be worried about getting in trouble with Charlie and let the cat go, or they could not care about Charlie at all and do something drastic. But at the same time, we don't know the cat's side of the story nor what the Collars might really be up to, and we won't be able to find it out if we don't rescue them. This cat might have some valuable info we don't know about yet.
*shrugs* I'm personally not too sure, yet, though I'm leaning a bit towards letting the Collars do their thing. The whole thing feels too risky to risk (look at my lovely wording). This kind of feels like a head vs heart situation, and in those cases the 'head' might be the better choice. Do we listen to our morals or follow what we have learned?

I think we should try to save the cat. The save option might not cause a fight. If the cats do want to fight, we could, say, run away. I don't think we're gonna directly die from saying,"They're coming with me." Maybe we could even convince them we have personal hate for the cat and want to bring the cat with you to kill yourself [Of course, then you don't actually kill the cat after bringing them away.]

I already voted~ forgot to check this thread, sorry.
I say we should save the cat. Pest or no pest, they are a cat, and may know something. They may even become a future travelling partner, who knows?
Lame post is lame

Also be aware that decisions have a possiblity of damaging our stats. If we back down- it could hurt our reputation, if we try to interfere then end up running away in a tight spot- that is a big blow to the reputation- and let's face it, in most situations we only got out because of our high reputation
