The 2017 Ultimate CAAA Character Challenge [Happy New Year!]

Does anyone ever find that while they're developing characters, they really want to expand that character's universe and have more of those characters designed?

Weird phrasing there, but basically I've been working on Icarus recently, and I've been really thinking about his past and those in it. Now I want characters that fit in there XD But at the same time, I'm like... Well would I use them, or do I just really like writing for Icarus? XD

We are talking about this on Skype but I figured I would post here for those who may have the same question.

I have decided that I will be doing this. There are a few characters of mine that have significant others or friends in my head. I know I won't use these "NPC" characters except for in the "main" characters art and story. But I want some couple and friend art.

I guess where I am thinking is in a novel you have all these characters. From the main hero/heroine to the most minor character. So why not in your own charrie world too!! Plus you never know perhaps one or two of these NPCs will turn into a main.

Another question about tags XD

Do they have to be a certain size? Like, the ones I've been counting for some of my babs are 150x150, but would 100x100 count as tags too? If you're not counting them as icons?
Obviously they wouldn't be used as both, but I have some small "tags" by Sadbloom of Klaus and Faust and I'd also like to get them some wiggle icons to count as their icons?

Edit:// Nevermind. Looking at their pages and they have tags already as well XD So I'll just use those, and these as the icons since they're the right size for that for sure.
I'll get someone else the wiggle icons~
(Wanted to keep these two up here though because they're super cute X3 )

Because for 50x50 and 100x100 icons, they're specifically sized like that. But I've seen tags identified as 150x150 all the way up to 300x300 XD

@weegeestar5 - Yes, I'd definitely count those towards snapshot! c:

@Solanum - I'm not really bothered by tag-size, I guess it's up to the user collecting art themselves. But I would say it definitely has to be bigger than 100x100 (like you said, probably 150x150) to count as a tag rather than an avatar.

@the pirate dragon, i personally started a challenge to get each of my mains 5 pieces of art a couple of years ago?? pff ive still not done that. w/ my number of ocs, thatd be a lot of art to get tbh OTL

I'm noticing that a bunch of mine already have things that apply for icons, or tags, so I've decided my snapshots will be all new.
But that means a fair amount of new art to get, so that'll be a challenge and a half XD
Getting some new icons soon though hopefully for some, so that'll be nice c:

I've also done my scenario for Wolf, although I might change it to another thing more focused on him at a later date.
Not sure.

I am currently trying to figure out what I want to do with my character challenge site though, because I have been going through characters basically one by one for a little while, but I'm tempted to just add everyone up and fill in the bits I can for them, then go through after with all the new stuff.
I feel like it might be nice to see where my gaps are properly... Particularly with the art, some of which I'm reusing.

ALSO another question...
With the personalities/histories etc that I'm just editing thoroughly then adding up, is it okay for me to replace the old stuff on their character page on my character website with the new stuff? I have been keeping it separate so that the before/after is seen, but at the same time I feel like it would be nice to have my character site fully updated with these things too XD

Huh... I've been using 100x100 for all my tags and I've already drawn or bought tags for over 40% of my characters orz
I'm not doing the avatar challenge, only the tag challenge. So I guess I could just change the name of the challenge in my tracker from tag you're it to 100 avatars, but does it matter? I mean, I think of them as tags more than avatars... idunno haha


those are the ones I've drawn myself (and not commissioned) if that matters.

Nah, if you're doing one of the challenges but not both then this is fine! I guess tag size parameters just need to be in place if you're doing both challenges so you can distinguish between the two. Adorable tags by the way, oh my goodness! c:
