Before I announce the winners, I want to congratulate everyone who entered and finished an entry. It's enough to be proud of yourself that you were just able to finish one! I immensely enjoyed reading through everyone's entry and seeing what everyone came up with, and it was very hard for me to judge. I called in extra help who was completely unbiased to help, and we both found it ever harder to pick between the top entries once we had narrowed it down.
So, now comes time for handing out placings and prizes. Please do not get frustrated with me or too upset about things, and please, if you have an issue with things, do not post it here. It only serves to make people feel bad, and that's really not what I expect from people.
So, moving on!
The Grand Prize Winner is....
Soriams!
Both me and the extra judge enjoyed your story greatly. The ending left you wanting much more, but at the same time, left us feeling quite satisfied with it. I'm still pondering over it, giving it an almost incomplete feel, yet I feel like it was complete at the same time. It was very creative, and I really loved the writing itself.
Now for prizes for the picture based entry.
First place goes to...
Make_a__Scene!
Even in a rather short story I fell in love with the characters, and the ending brought me to tears both times I read it. The transition to second person at the end was flawless and unexpected, making it all the more lovely.
Second place being awarded to...
☽strix☾!
I loved the creativity you showed, how you used the picture to create the story and the symbolism it played. I liked the writing itself too, which is always good.
And third place goes to...
lights;
I enjoyed your story a lot, and how you used the picture. It was a very nice entry c:
Now, onto placings for the song based entries!
First place is awarded to...
Alyss Baskerville
I think the inspiration you drew from the song was spot on. It was almost exactly how I had looked at the song. Not only that, but a majority of people find writing in second person to be extremely difficult, yet you did it without much flaw. I found that it provoked emotions with ease, and I think that a lot of people can relate to it.
Second place goes to...
Zuchi!
I love what you did with your characters, and Mittens of course! I love how you drew inspiration from the song, and clever little twist you put in there. >> The writing drew me in, and I loved the characters themselves.
And last but not least, third place is awarded to...
.:.~Ornader~.:.
Although it wasn't a big contest, I did like your entry, and how the song was incorporated. It wasn't an outright symbolism, but it worked.
And that wraps it up! Congratulations to everyone, and please message me about receiving your prizes. c:
keep on the lookout for more, similar contests, since I'm already planing more c:
